Brooklyn artist Yoke Lore (formerly of Yellerkin and Walk the Moon) supporting Handsome Ghost at Cattivo on Thursday, December 15

Brooklyn project Yoke Lore is the new musical venture ofyoke-lore-by-wes-alexAdrian Galvin, previously of Yellerkin and Walk the Moon.

Yoke Lore layers the harmonies of Panda Bear, the soulful beats of M83, and the modern pop of Blackbird Blackbird to tell “the stories of how we are bound.” Galvin’s songs start with the folksy timbre of a banjo and add echoing waves of vocals and percussion to create unforgettable pop music with tactile sincerity and conviction.

Galvin grew up in an artistic family, his mother a director and his father an actor and sculptor. He was immersed in painting, photography, and ballet from an early age, eventually finding his first musical passion in the drums. While pursuing music, his artistry in other disciplines has not faltered, even lending his own artwork as the cover of his debut EP, Far Shore.

When he’s not writing and recording new music, Galvin can be found teaching yoga or performing with his modern dance company Boomerang in Brooklyn.

Grouplove first came together in 2009 and were quickly hailed for their standout live performances, both as headliners and at such international festivals as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Reading + Leeds Festivals, and Glastonbury.  A year after releasing a self-titled EP in 2010, the band returned with their debut full length “NEVER TRUST A HAPPY SONG” featuring a trio of breakout singles – “Colours,” “Itchin’ On A Photograph,” and the RIAA-certified platinum hit “Tongue Tied” which spent 3 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Alternative radio chart. The quintet’s second full length album – 2013’s “SPREADING RUMOURS” – was met with a raft of acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Los Angeles Times, NYLON, and National Public Radio who called it “ludicrously easy to love.”  As with all of Grouplove’s recorded material, the collection was produced by the band’s own Ryan Rabin, and was highlighted by singles “Ways To Go” and “Shark Attack.”  In 2014, Grouplove contributed the original song “Let Me In” to  “The Fault in Our Stars – Music From the Motion Picture,” the musical companion to the blockbuster film based on The New York Times bestseller. That same year, the band was tapped to create the theme song to the Netflix Original Series “BoJack Horseman.” Last year, vocalist/keyboardist Hannah Hooper collaborated with Volcom for a Lady Grouplove capsule collection of clothing inspired by her personal style and artwork.
Grouplove is: Christian Zucconi (vocals, guitar), Hannah Hooper (vocals, keys), Andrew Wessen (guitar, vocals), Ryan Rabin (drums), and Daniel Gleason (bass).

The end is near party peoplllllllllllle. But not yet… not yet. So we had all of the fun getting up close and personal with some of you in the tiny saunas… I mean venues… that we played over the last couple of weeks. There was no better way we could’ve chosen to start the beginning of the end than by getting back in the van and getting down to the slimy nitty gritty with some of y’all in some of our favorite cities. Grammy nominated Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto is excited to be back on tour this Fall. Her month long US tour will start on September 10th in Boca Raton, FL and continues through October, where she will perform a 3-night run at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, NY before joining fellow Brazilian Mariza in Newark, NJ on the 16th. The tour will make stops in ten different cities across the country.

Gilberto, who has earned multiple Grammy nominations over the course of her career, has captivated fans and earned media acclaim worldwide with her trademark electronic bossa nova, sonically transporting listeners to Brazil, with bright, incandescent bossa nova-infused melodies, lyrics about love, and a lilting performance style has earned her raves for her live performances.

Hailing from a rich musical lineage, Bebel is the is the daughter of João Gilberto and singer Miúcha, and grew up surrounded by her extended musically family, including her uncle Chico Buarque and family friends like Milton Nacimento, Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso, and João Donato. Her professional solo debut came in 1986 with a self-titled EP released by WEA which included “Preciso dizer que te amo,” a partnership with Cazuza.

With her highly acclaimed release Tanto Tempo in 2000, Bebel introduced her now-trademark blend of electronic bossa nova, which took over clubs around the world and positioned Bebel as one of the top-selling Brazilian artists in the U.S. The album reflected Bebel’s life split growing up between Brazil and New York City, infusing a modern, cosmopolitan edge to the music she grew up with. She continues to call New York City home to this day.

Coheed and Cambria debut new video | release “The Color Before The Sun: Deconstructed Deluxe”

+ upcoming tour w/ Saves The Day and Polyphia
+ “The Color Before The Sun” (Deconstructed Deluxe) available digitally via 300 Entertainment
Coheed and Cambria have released a digital deluxe edition of their eighth studio album, entitled The Color Before The Sun: Deconstructed. The collection was made available August 19 via 300 Entertainment. In conjunction with the rerelease, the band are now premiering a video for one of the two bonus demos, “Bridge and Tunnel.” The clip features stunning views of NYC and it’s skyline, an ode to the city that has had an overwhelming influence on the band.
The 30-track presentation features the original album’s 10 songs, both in the studio, and in their early acoustic demo form, as well as two bonus demos that were never recorded in the studio. The demos, called, “Big Beige/4th St,” were named after band frontman, Claudio Sanchez‘s home, “The Big Beige” in upstate NY as well as his old apartment in Brooklyn, “4th Street” – since he wrote and documented them in each residence. These mostly acoustic demo tracks had previously only been made available to core fans who purchased the band’s Limited Edition Deluxe Box set, which featured a 76 page physical book.  Also included in “Deconstructed” are 7 live “bootleg” tracks pulled straight from the soundboard from various dates on their recent US headline tour, that expose a very raw look at the band.

Coheed and Cambria’s ten song album, The Color Before The Sun was released in October 2015 via 300 Entertainment, marking a bold departure for the NY-based band. It was their first non-conceptual album, pausing the beloved The Amory Wars, a seven-album science fiction saga that also bore a comic book empire, in favor of a more personal outing.  “It’s very much a time capsule of the two years leading up to this recording,” Claudio Sanchez said. “I first created The Amory Wars in 1998 because at the time, I was afraid to share my personal stories. I didn’t want them or the subject matter to be judged, so I translated my personal experiences into these fictitious characters and landscapes so I could hide behind them. With The Color Before the Sun, I figured it was time to pull back the curtain.”
Rolling Stone declared The Color Before The Sun “a dramatic departure,” Noisey said the new album proves “there are no boundaries for a Coheed and Cambria album” and Alternative Press, in a four-star review, added “the album pops and pulsates with signature Coheed wails and riffs.” The Nerdist, who premiered the band’s ode to the ‘80s video for “You Got Spirit, Kid”, said the new music “features much of what has made Coheed and Cambria a force for the last two decades.” The Color Before The Sun was Coheed and Cambria’s 6th consecutive Top 10 Billboard charting album, and their third to debut at #5 on the Billboard top current chart with 32,000 units sold.
Coheed and Cambria will be on the road in The States this Fall, on a massive tour with Saves The Day and Polyphia.  Kicking off in Seattle this September, the tour takes the band through U.S. markets including a sold out show in Sacramento,  Chainfest in Santa Ana, CA (with Portugal the Man and Title Fight), a handful of stops in Canada and closing out with an already sold out show at Starland Ballroom in New Jersey.
The band will also be touring through the UK this August, appearing at Leeds and Reading Festival, with additional dates with La Dispute and mewithoutYou.
“Deconstructed Deluxe is available now via 300 Entertainment and can be purchased on  iTunesAmazon and GooglePlay and is available for streaming via Spotify.

CHILD BITE continues to astound ears with the apocalyptic sounds of Negative Noise, out now on Housecore Records. The wild, forty-seven-minute ride was produced by label head Philip H. Anselmo, mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer), and is where the Venn diagram of Black Flag, Voivod, and The Jesus Lizard truly overlaps.
The Sludgelord notes, “CHILD BITE creates an idiosyncratic racket, a chaotic collision of off-kilter punk, the weirder end of ’80s hardcore and rumbling post-punk. Negative Noise is an invigorating blast of dissonance, a blend of familiar influences twisted into their warped vision. Shawn Knight’s hyperactive drawl makes a compelling foil to the band’s manic yet inventive playing, as his Jello Biafra via Mike Watt drawl varies in intensity to match the song’s twists and turns.” New Noise Magazine calls CHILD BITE‘s Negative Noise, “…an adventurous slice of loud rock…They have the aggressive force of hardcore, but it’s filtered through grimy noise rock…Negative Noise showcases a band firing on all cylinders.” Brave Words observes, “The danger with this sort of artsy punk is that it can skirt a line between really interesting and creative and just really annoying and grating, really fast. Most bands who do this sort of thing end up being in the latter category, but CHILD BITE stay listenable, thanks to a ton of interesting and cool guitar work (check out ‘Video Blood’) and an ability to keep things toe-tapping and relatively rockin’, even if it’s rarely with a straight beat and is certainly never with an expected twist or turn,” adding, “References within the sphere of metal are hard to come by, but imagine if the first Mr. Bungle album wasn’t annoying circus music, and then remember that this band once did a 5″ record of Anal Cunt covers with Phil Anselmo on vocals, and you’re getting there.” Punk News concurs, “This is for the open minded punk, headbanger or weirdo. If you like your music a little on the ugly side, you owe it to yourself to check them out. (Especially if you get a chance to see them live.) Negative Noise can be a hard record to love, but ultimately it’s worth the effort.” No Clean Singing notes, ” Negative Noise possesses a brilliance and individuality all its own and is a refreshing breath of fetid air in an era saturated with a d-beat-only approach to punk and hardcore,” while KNAC hails, “…an all-over-the-place shitstorm of punk/hardcore, metal, noise/post rock, prog and even surf music in Brandon Sczomak’s shrill guitar jangle…it sounds sorta like someone stuffed Mr. Bungle/Fantomas, Voivod, old Clutch (especially in Shawn Knight’s husky baritone and seemingly extemporaneous delivery), Black Flag and The Jesus Lizard into a blender, pushed ‘grind’ and then forget to turn it off.”

“We’re getting pumped up for the coming ”Sorceress” world tour. We have 3 shows scheduled that are quite ”out of the ordinary” due to their legendary status and location. The SSE Wembley Arena in London/UK. Radio City Music Hall in New York/USA, and the famous Sydney Opera House/Australia. These three shows will be completely unique in terms of songs, spanning over 2 separate set lists. We’ll pull out songs from our back catalogue and mix it up with newer stuff during the first set. The 2nd set will consist of songs exclusively from the Deliverance/Damnation records, that was just celebrated with a re-release combo package by the newly revived Music For Nations label. So it’s a little bit of a celebration indeed! We’ll only play this set list 3 times on the whole world tour, so if you miss it, you’ll have missed it. Of course all other shows will be treated with the same amount of respect and we’ll chisel out a nice diverse set list spanning over our entire career for every single show during the tours. Whitechapel recently completed an extensive trek across the USA on the annual Warped Tour, touring in support of their sixth full-length, Mark of the Blade. Hailed as “an exciting milestone” (Alt Press), Mark of the Blade was produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse) and sees Whitechapel redefine who they are and what they are capable of with the resulting 11 tracks. Kicking off with “The Void” – which has a Slayer-esque ferocity that is perfectly suited to the band’s three-guitar attack – the songs that follow all leave a distinct impression, and by the time the rich, dark melodies on “Decennium” bring the record to a close, it’s impossible to deny the emotional weight brought to bear. Alex Wade explains, “At this point in our career and as we grow older, we are taking a more open-minded approach to creating our music, allowing what we think sounds good to evolve naturally, rather than to just write what is expected of us.”

ABOUT SLAYER
For more than three decades, Slayer’s onslaught has proven the band to be the supreme thrash-metal band on the planet, the band that other heavy acts are measured against and aspire to. The two-time Grammy-winners have also accumulated an abundance of certified Gold Albums along with “Best…” awards from media outlets all over the world, including Kerrang!SPINMetal HammerRevolver, and Esquire.  Throughout Slayer’s history, the band has never faltered in unleashing its extreme and focused sonic assault, and, unlike many of its contemporaries who “commercialized” their sound, Slayer has remained crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the mainstream.  Slayer’s founding member, guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed in 2013, and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has been filling in for him since.  Paul Bostaph, who was Slayer’s drummer from ’94 – ’01, has rejoined bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King, and is back behind the kit.
In September 2015, Slayer released Repentless, the band’s 12th studio album, the first without Hanneman and first with producer Terry Date, to widespread rave reviews and the highest chart debut of the band’s career. The band also teamed up with director BJ McDonnell for two high-concept and brutal music videos for the album’s “Repentless” (9.5-million views) and then for  “You Against You.” (4.2-million views).

Queen V Rocks the Barn

Queen V is doing a small tour to promote her ep, Bridges, which dropped in February. This coast-to-coast, limited stop tour included a private show in Pittsburgh. The proceeds helping support the Sewickley YMCA scholarship funds and raised over $30,000. The concert was in a barn like no other. Privately owned, the venue was literally a converted barn nestled in the hilltops of Sewickley itself. Limited space and ticket availability made possible to only have 200 folks in attendance, so there was not a bad spot in the house. Barn acoustics make for amazing sound and Queen V and 5 of her 6 piece band made the most of it. Mostly originals and a few covers thrown in for fun (Mr. Mister’s Take These Broken Wings”) made a strong set. The highlight of the show is when this incredibly talented group switched out their instruments, making the most of their amazing capabilities. Also joining the Queen V was a resident 11 year old and members of the opening (local) band Laurel Oak Boys. Together they ended the set a personalized version of Here We Go! much to the delight of the Steeler fans in the house.

The previous stop on her “one off” tour was singing the National Anthem and doing an acoustic set for the crowd at Camden Yards prior to an Orioles vs. Yankees game. July will see V and Co. at Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood. The tour will likely wrap in the fall.

Like many, V was classically trained but has always been a rock and roll girl writing her own songs and jamming out on her guitar. Never wanting to be anything other than a musician, the pretty brunette kicked off her career in 1996. The New Jersey native did the usual club tour circuit in NY/NJ clubs then quickly broke into national touring as openers for artists like Twisted Sister, Billy Idol, Bon Jovi and more.

Bridges is the singers 7th album, all produced on her own independent label, Royal Noise.

The first six, including a compilation, Decade of Queen, were straight up rock with V belting out strong vocals reminiscent of other rock and roll queens of the 80’s.

Bridge shows an evolution into a new sound, leaning away from hard rock and bearing (acoustically) toward Indie. With time spent in Nashville collaborating and getting back to her songwriter roots, a softer sound has emerged but with a voice still strong. V describes the ep as, “less distortion/more emotion” and “dialed back with more finesse”.  She has been carefully collecting the reactions of her long time fan base and the feedback on the evolution is nothing but love.

Already looking forward to her next project, Queen V says creating music makes her happier than anything else, she feels a driving need to share her art. Her loyal fans encourage and motivate her. Keeping it fresh, innovating and growing are challenges she takes on not just for her audience but also for herself.

Find Queen V’s work on all the usual downloadable outlets, or when you purchase a cd receive the download code as well.  www.queenv.com

In case y’all were wondering why V loves the ‘Burgh enough for a private show? Her husband is a guy from Crafton named Bill. Something about football…

GEARS - Album Art

About GEARS:

Miami based hard/heavy rock act GEARS isn’t your average start-up garage band. Despite being confronted with a near disastrous setback at the cusp of their debut, headlining tour, jarring line-up changes, and financial challenges, the band has persevered and rebuilt.

Founded in February 2014, Trip 6 (Urban Rebel), Eli Parker (Endo), Tommy Herres (SCARLET CARSON), and Jimmy Wooten (SKINMASK) were all looking for new projects as their old ones had run their course.

We all wanted to do something more modern, but still rang true to our influences. Something that we could aggressively market and tour on. So, we all met up in Miami after months of talking about doing something together and what came out was the first EP, “Set in Motion.”

They released Set in Motion in May 2014, immediately launching into their first headline run with support from I-Exist. Just three days into the tour, their equipment trailer disconnected, resulting in a massive, horrific accident; not only did they lose their gear, but the tour van was totaled and the band members sustained serious injury. In spite of this tremendous blow, the group endured and continued the tour without missing a beat.

Later it developed that two of the founding members were unable to continue, leaving the band reeling and having to replace them with skilled, compatible substitutes:

I was talking with a mutual friend, Joe Taback (12 Gauge Embrace) about needing a guitar player for GEARS because we let go of Eli and he suggested Bobby Thomas. I called him and showed him the songs and he was ready to go. As far as bass, I knew Chris from when Needlemouth was a thing out in Cali and I always liked his playing and he was super laid back & cool. I knew both of these dudes were definite upgrades at their instruments and were a better fit personality wise than what we had to deal with previously.

In June 2015, Wooten and Six teamed with Corey Lowery (Saint Asonia, Stuck Mojo, Stereomud, Dark New Day) and Troy Mclawhorn (Evanescence,Seether, Dark New Day) on their new EP Pride Comes Before the Fall, and announced the addition of new members Ethan Vega and Chris Dorame. They hit the road for their Riser Tour, once again with I-Exist, in July, wrapping up the run in September, but kept the momentum going with the digital release and lyric video for their debut single off of Pride Comes Before the Fall, “Face Down”. The band rounded out the year with the release of their much anticipated sophomore EP on November 10th, with a tour anticipated in January 2016.

We’re still moving forward and, despite everything that has been an obstacle in the short time we’ve been a band, everything still keeps growing and getting better.

OPETH TO RELEASE 12TH STUDIO ALBUM, ‘SORCERESS,’ ON SEPTEMBER 30TH/Live in Pittsburgh, PA – Stage AE

July 18, 2016 – Los Angeles, CA – 2016 marks the monumental return of one of heavy rock’s most unique, revered and fearless bands of the last three decades, OPETH. Over the years, the experimental, prog veterans have continuously reinvented themselves, pushing the boundaries of their craft and expectations of fans and critics alike. Today, OPETH announces their 12th album, Sorceress, will be released on September 30th and have unveiled the artwork and track list for their imminent masterpiece.
OPETH’s new album, Sorceress, their first for Nuclear Blast via the band’s imprint label Moderbolaget Records, is proof chief architect Mikael Åkerfeldt has a near-endless well of greatness inside. From the album’s opener “Persephone” to “The Wilde Flowers” and “Strange Brew” to the album’s counterpart title tracks “Sorceress” and “Sorceress II,” OPETH’s twelfth full-length is an unparalleled adventure, where visions cleverly and secretly change, colors mute as if weathered by time, and sounds challenge profoundly.
”The new album ”Sorceress” is our 12th studio album since our beginnings in 1990,” says Åkerfeldt. “I find it difficult to understand that we’ve been going on for 26 years, let alone that we’ve made 12 records now, all of which I am very proud of. ”Sorceress” is no exception. I love this album, as does the whole band. I wrote the music during 5-6 months and we spent only 12 days recording it at Rockfield studios in Wales. I find that once again we’ve taken a step forward. Or sideways, Or backwards. Somewhere!? It’s different! It’s extremely diverse. And if I may say so myself, extremely good. I feel the right to say that since I like to think I know this band better than anyone on the planet. Also, I always manage to detach myself from the record and listen as a fan. It’s a fine little record. My favorite in our discography right now. Of course. That’s how it should be, right? It’s both fresh and old, both progressive and rehashed. Heavy and calm. Just the way we like it. Hopefully there’ll be others around the globe sharing this opinion. It was a joy to make it. A fucking joy to record it, and a sheer joy listening to it. So there you have it!”
For Sorceress, OPETH returned to Rockfield Studios in Wales, also home to pivotal releases from Queen, Rush and Judas Priest, where the Swedes had tracked Pale Communion in 2014 with Tom Dalgety. The band spent 12 days recording at the countryside venue among its serene and inspiring surroundings. The result is nothing short of a powerful and intriguing record that will add yet another layer to the band’s celebrated career.
OPETH will return to North America this fall for a headline tour, which will kick off with a performance atOzzfest/Knotfest on September 24th in San Bernardino, CA. The excursion will continue with special guest The Sword through the following month before wrapping up on October 26th in Vancouver, BC.

WEATHERS — ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN FALL TOUR WITH SAINT MOTEL + SINGLE “HAPPY PILLS” #1 ADDED TO ALT RADIO

Los Angeles-based band, Weathers, announce they will be joining indie-pop band, Saint Motel, on their North American tour this fall.  The tour kicks off in San Diego, and will be making stops in a number of major cities including Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston.  Prior to the tour, Weathers will also be performing at this year’s Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago.  Tickets go are on sale now.  See full list of tour dates below.

Click HERE to purchase tickets.

Additionally, Weathers’ latest single “Happy Pills” is No. 1 Added at Alternative Radio. This marks the highest total adds so far this decade for a brand new artist at the alternative format.  “Happy Pills” was first introduced via an exclusive Neon Gold premiere (Click HERE). The darkly tinged, guitar-driven alt-rock song is about taking physical or metaphysical “Happy Pills” for a an easy fix, which stems from the idea that our culture has become too quick to prescribe pills to settle whatever ailments people of all ages may have, but these prescriptions may not actually be solving anyone’s problems. “Happy Pills” is now available at all digital retail providers.

“…A hook-heavy, serotonin-surging sync goldmine that already sounds dangerously close to being god damn everywhere this summer.” Neon Gold

The members of Weathers — lead singer/rhythm guitarist Cameron Boyer, guitarist Cameron Olsen, bassist Brennen Bates, and drummer Cole Carson are part of the post-Millennial Generation Z: Social media-saturated kids who grew up in an insecure world and raised by financially stressed parents affected by the economic downturn. It’s no wonder that a skeptical, unsettled mood permeates the songs that the Los Angeles-based band has written since they officially became Weathers in October 2015. Last month, they revealed their first track “I Don’t Wanna Know”.

Weathers has played Webster Hall in New York City and The Troubadour in Los Angeles, and performed at this year’s SXSW.  With the success of “Happy Pills”, Lollapalooza performance, and upcoming tour with Saint Motel, it is clear the alt-rock foursome is paving the way for a very promising future.

KT Tunstall Announces New Album ‘KIN’ To Be Released September 9th

KT Confirms US Dates This Fall

July 15, 2016…KT Tunstall returns with an explosive 11 track collection of songs on her fifth studio album KIN to be released September 9th  on Caroline Records. The album will be available for pre-order at all participating retailers, here.
Two years ago, KT Tunstall thought she was done with music: “As an artist I feel like I died,” she says. “I stopped. I gave up. I didn’t want to do it anymore.” She put her stuff in storage and bought a little house in Venice Beach, California and enrolled in the Sundance Institute’s elite Film Composers Lab. It was a turning point in her life.

Two years later KIN was born. Produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Fitz and the Tantrums, Air, M83 and more), and written and recorded by KT in LA, it exemplifies the very best of guitar pop. “The truth is, I’ve finally made peace with being a pop songwriter,” KT says. “This record was very much embracing my dharma as an artist, which is to write positive songs that have muscle, but also show their vulnerability.”

It has been over ten years since KT released her multi-platinum debut, Eye To The Telescope, and in KIN, KT sees its full bodied and blooded follow up. The album’s new focused sound is exemplified by the teaser track ‘Evil Eye’; a stripped back, primal rock ‘n’ roll track that seeded the whole record. The album’s lead single ‘Maybe It’s A Good Thing’ shows KT in top form: a moment in life captured in a bright, powerful pop song with an irresistible and unforgettable melody.

The diverse collection also includes a duet with KT fan James Bay, the raucous rebellion of ‘It Took Me So Long To Get Here, But Here I Am’, ‘Run On Home’, the call to arms of ‘Hard Girls’, and the beautiful album closer ‘Love Is An Ocean’.

Amazon will have limited signed copies of KIN available while supplies last. In addition, Barnes & Noble will have an exclusive, limited edition colored vinyl version of KIN, again while supplies last.

KT has released five albums internationally, to date: Eye to the Telescope(2004), KT Tunstall’s Acoustic Extravaganza (2006), Drastic Fantastic (2007),Tiger Suit (2010) and Invisible Empire // Crescent Moon (2013). Her music has also figured prominently in film and television including The Devil Wear’s Prada, Grey’s Anatomy, Winter’s Tale and many more. She has won a BRIT Award, an Ivor Novello Award and earned both Grammy and Mercury Prize nominations.

KIN full track listing:
1. Hard Girls
2. Turned A Light On
3. Maybe It’s A Good Thing
4. Evil Eye
5. It Took Me So Long To Get Here, But Here I Am
6. On My Star

The Marianas Trench SPF 80s tour is coming to a city near you this summer and David Hasselhoff says, “You definitely don’t want to miss it!”

ARKAIK Kicks Off US Tour

Progressive death metal faction, ARKAIK, will embark upon a fifteen-date US headlining tour this Summer. The Make America Shred Again Tour 2016 will run from July 2nd through July 24th. Support will be provided by Vale Of Pnath and Singularity with additional dates to be announced in the coming weeks.
“We are beyond stoked to be hitting this road this July with the incredibly talented Vale Of Pnath and Singularity,” issues guitarist Greg Paulson. “This is a really special package given the technical and progressive nature of the music. All bands are releasing new music and have new albums to promote. We also have our most ambitious set list to date, spanning our previous two records and our newly released album Lucid Dawn.”
ARKAIK w/ Vale Of Pnath, Singularity:
7/02/2016 Malone’s – Santa Ana, CA
7/04/2016 Club Red – Mesa, AZ
7/06/2016 Blu Phoenix – Albuquerque, NM
7/10/2016 Korova – San Antonio, TX
7/11/2016 House Of Rock – Corpus Christi, TX
7/12/2016 Dirty Dog Bar – Austin, TX
7/13/2016 Tomcats West – Fortworth, TX
7/15/2016 Sunshine Studios – Colorado Springs, CO
7/16/2016 The Marquis Theatre – Denver, CO
7/17/2016 WhySound – Logan, UT
7/21/2016 Studio 7 – Seattle, WA
7/22/2016 Third Street Pub – Bend, OR
7/23/2016 The Haul – Grants Pass, OR
7/24/2016 Phoenix Theater – Petaluma, CA
ARKAIK released their Lucid Dawn full-length last year via Unique Leader Records. The second installment in a series of concept albums, Lucid Dawn centers itself around Cyrix, a disillusioned character in a dystopian society. In Cyrix’ realm, dreaming is systematically controlled by a tyrannical ruler named Khaal-Li-Phar and his army of dark shamans, where people are forced to build monuments to the tyrant to stifle their imaginations and inhibit their ability to achieve a multi-dimensional existence. Musically and conceptually, Lucid Dawn is a death metal take on American mythologist, writer and lecturer, Joseph Campbell’s monomyth and the beginning of Cyrix’s “Hero’s Journey,” that seamlessly carries its listeners on a visceral expedition through the depths of evil and beyond the threshold of mundane reality.
ARKAIK’s Lucid Dawn was engineered, mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Fallujah, Wrvth, All Shall Perish et al.) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California and is out now worldwide via Unique Leader Records. Order bundles are currently available at THIS LOCATION.
ARKAIK manage to imbue fresh life into their brutal technical death metal through the sheer power of their writing.” — Heavy Blog Is Heavy
“Firmly entrenched in the technical death metal sound, ARKAIK show just how appealing the genre can be when approached from the right angles. There’s no gimmicks, no over-the-top guitar wankery, just crushing death metal with enough intricacy to blow your mind yet allow you to whistle that riff that got stuck in your head for the rest of your day.” – Dead Rhetoric
“…a head-spinning display of insectile tech-death frenzy — the kind of performance that somehow feels both machine-tight and berserk.” – No Clean Singing
“ARKAIK merge insane brutality and technicality with a modern death metal sensibility that allows them to reap the benefits of both styles. The combination of complexity and catchiness makes for songs that have both immediate appeal and longevity; the perfect combination…” – Wonderbox Metal
“As profound and groovy as tech gets…” – Sputnik Music
“A tech-death hurricane of musicianship heroics.” – The Sludgelord

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, June 24. See below for itinerary.
The band will perform on “Good Morning America” this Wednesday, June 22. Their “Get Right Back”summer tour is underway now and visits New York City’s Terminal 5 tomorrow, June 21.
Fitz and The Tantrums (Elektra Records), available HERE, is No. 16 on the Billboard 200, No. 4 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart and No. 13 on Billboard’s Current Albums chart.

“HandClap,” the album’s first single, has been nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Rock Song. Fans can vote HERE. The track currently has more than 8 million Spotify streams.
The song has been heard in the advertising campaign for the Fiat 500X Crossover (view the latest adHERE) and in this trailer for the film Storks. It is also being used as the official song for The CW’s 2016 Summer and Fall Image Campaigns. “HandClap” is No. 1 on Billboard & Clio Music’s Top Commercials chart for the month of May. View Fitz and The Tantrums performing “HandClap” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” HERE and see the official video, directed by Marc Klasfeld (Wiz Khalifa, Twenty One Pilots), HERE.
The Los Angeles Times called “HandClap” a contender for “2016’s Song of the Summer” in this feature, which takes a look at the songwriting process behind the track and radio’s ecstatic response to it. “Fitz & The Tantrums deliver hook upon hook on catchy new single ‘HandClap,'” said Idolatorand Harper’s Bazaar hailed the track as a “cheeky dance floor seduction ballad.”
USA Today put “Roll Up,” another album track, on its list of the “10 best songs of the week,” noting how it’s “infectious, pop-y, and hard not to bop around to when it floats in your ears.” The Boston Globe observed, “the album proves emphatically that Fitz can still craft a catchy chorus.”Newsdaysaid,”Fitz and The Tantrums’ move from their retro-soul roots to the sparkling dance pop on their new album, ‘Fitz and The Tantrums’ (Elektra), might have been alarming if the Los Angeles band didn’t do it so well.”
Fitz and The Tantrumsis the follow-up to More Than Just a Dream, which has racked up over 76 million album streams to date. The 2013 album contained the Gold-certified singles “The Walker” and “Out Of My League. They released their breakthrough album Blood Lust in 2011, a homage to British Hammer and folk horror films of the 1970s, a candle-lit head-trip of withered hands, ritual knives and gallows ropes.  Mind Control (2013), their third album, looked further afield, to the post-Charles Manson US for inspiration: Jim Jones dosing the Kool-Aid. Blue Cheer, Blue Oyster Cult and B-movie biker movies. War, Watergate, serial killers and suicidal TV evangelists.

Recorded in Los Angeles and Seattle with producers Captain Cuts (Grouplove’s own Ryan Rabin) and Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, The Shins), Big Mess features the signature anthemic choruses and infectious hooks that first brought the Los Angeles quintet to prominence through hits like “Tongue Tied,” “Colours,” and “Ways To Go.” No stranger to the worldwide festival circuit, Grouplove has made an album that brilliantly showcases their richly narrated songs with elaborate production.
“We made this album at an important crossroads in our lives, and it was a dream come true to be able to work with Phil Ek up in Seattle and with Ryan down in LA. We’re extremely excited for the world to hear it!” offered singer/guitarist Christian Zucconi.

The quintet’s second full length album – 2013’s “SPREADING RUMOURS” – was met with a raft of acclaim from the likes ofRolling Stone, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Los Angeles Times, NYLON, and National Public Radio who called it “ludicrously easy to love.”  As with all of Grouplove’s recorded material, the collection was produced by the band’s own Ryan Rabin, and was highlighted by singles “Ways To Go” and “Shark Attack.”  In 2014, Grouplove contributed the original song “Let Me In” to  “The Fault in Our Stars – Music From the Motion Picture,” the musical companion to the blockbuster film based on The New York Times bestseller.
