CODE ORANGE SHARE ADULT SWIM SINGLE “ONLY ONE WAY”

https://as-embed-player.adultswim.com/singles/2017/?trackid=9c887212-b042-4cce-a173-dec00fe7b9c3

Code Orange have shared “Only One Way,” which is streaming today via Adult Swim’s Singles Series.  Recorded with producer Will Yip at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA, “Only One Way” is the first new music from the band since the release of their widely acclaimed LPFOREVER, which earned Code Orange a Grammy nomination and topped several “Best of 2017” lists including: Rolling Stone’s “20 Best Metal Albums of 2017,” Revolver’s “20 Best Albums of 2017,” and The Independent’s “Top 20 Rock & Metal Albums of 2017.”

Code Orange commented on the new track explaining, “We wanted to write a song that felt like something structurally sound and melodic, being chewed up and spit out by a machine; our machine.”   The band added, “We plan to release material on a more regular basis in an attempt to break down rock and metal’s formulaic pattern of long breaks between outputs. This means we must work twice as hard, so we will. The hurt will go on. The end will never come…”

Code Orange will be embarking on a UK Tour starting in April (full dates here).

BOARDING HOUSE REACH sees Jack White expanding his musical palate with perhaps his most ambitious work thus far, a collection of songs that are simultaneously timeless and modern. Written and conceived while holed up in a spartan apartment with literally no outside world distractions, White exclusively used the same kind of gear he had when he was 15 years old (a quarter-inch four-track tape recorder, a simple mixer, and the most basic of instrumentation). The album explores a remarkable range of sonic terrain — crunching rock ‘n’ roll, electro and hard funk, proto punk, hip hop, gospel blues, and even country — all remapped and born anew to fit White’s matchless vision and sense of restless experimentation. BOARDING HOUSE REACH is a testament to the breadth of Jack White’s creative power and his bold artistic ambition.

BOARDING HOUSE REACH features White on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars and drums, organ, and synthesizers. He’s backed by a remarkable new lineup of musicians that includes: drummer Louis Cato (Beyoncé, Q-Tip, John Legend, Mariah Carey), bassists Charlotte Kemp Muhl (The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger) and NeonPhoenix (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z), synthesizer players DJ Harrison and Anthony “Brew” Brewster (Fishbone, The Untouchables), keyboardists Neal Evans (Soulive, Talib Kweli, John Scofield) and Quincy McCrary (Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Pitbull), percussionists Bobby Allende (David Byrne, Marc Anthony) and Justin Porée (Ozomatli), and backing vocalists Esther Rose and Ann & Regina McCrary of Nashville’s beloved gospel trio, The McCrary Sisters, as well as longtime collaborators like drummers Daru Jones (Nas, Talib Kweli) and Carla Azar (Autolux, Depeche Mode, Doyle Bramhall II). Singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking also appears, contributing a stirring spoken word performance to the album’s “Abulia and Akrasia.”

BOARDING HOUSE REACH was produced by Jack White III and recorded at Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN, Sear Sound in New York, NY, and Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, CA; the album was mixed by Bill Skibbe, Joshua V. Smith, and White at Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN.

“Connected By Love” b/w “Respect Commander” is available now digitally worldwide and as a physical 7-inch vinyl single pressed at Third Man Pressing in Detroit, MI. The single is accompanied by a brand-new music video from director Pasqual Gutierrez – watch it now HERE.

“Connected By Love” was greeted with rapturous global applause upon its arrival earlier this month, withRolling Stone exclaiming, “The four-year wait is over” with the “blistering first single” from BOARDING HOUSE REACHBillboard declared the song “a classic White confessional blues burner,” while Entertainment Weeklycalled it “thrillingly weird…a searing, organ-lined plea to a former flame.” NPR‘s Bob Boilen raved: “Connected By Love” is “a blend of old guitar blues that is simultaneously on the edge of rock’s horizon.”

White and Third Man Records have also revealed details of their BOARDING HOUSE REACH-themed Vault Package #35, marking the ONLY limited edition of the new album. Vault Package #35 is highlighted by a limited edition, colored vinyl version of BOARDING HOUSE REACH that will be the only vinyl variation of the LP to be made available. Pressed at Third Man Pressing in the Cass Corridor of Detroit, the 180-gram, blue and black swirl vinyl edition features exclusive Vault-only cover art which dramatically depicts White’s stylized face and is printed on arresting holographic foil paper in the classic Stoughton tip-on style. The LP is further accompanied by a unique-to-this-package 12″ x 24″ insert featuring the complete album lyrics.

The BOARDING HOUSE REACH Vault package also includes a two-song demo 7-inch single, offering up embryonic versions of “Connected By Love” and the album track, “Why Walk a Dog?” The former take – billed here under its original title, “Infected By Love” – was recorded entirely by White in the aforementioned Nashville apartment. White found keyboard tones on this recording that the world’s most seasoned session musicians could not recreate in the studio and thus, some of those tones were sourced from this simple demo to be utilized on the final album version. Meanwhile, “Why Walk a Dog?” was recorded, like much of the BOARDING HOUSE REACH demos, alone at his private songwriting refuge. With its expressive synth and drum machine cadence, the track is overtly hypnotic even in this early state. Indeed, the “Connected By Love” and “Why Walk a Dog?” single provides a fascinating insight into White’s process, revealing the creative progression of his songs from inception to completion.

In addition to the recorded material, Vault Package #35 comes with three separate and exclusive photographs shot during BOARDING HOUSE REACH recording sessions. Taken by noted photographer – and White’s longtime friend – David Swanson at Sear Sound in New York and Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, these large-format, high quality glossy reproductions are exclusive to the Vault. The photographs will be coupled with three foil-stamped poetry broadsides, printed on silky metallic papers (black, white, and blue) containing White’s poems from the new album tracks, “Abulia and Akrasia,” “Ezmerelda Steals the Show,” and “Get in the Mind Shaft.”

Lastly, BOARDING HOUSE REACH Vault Package #35 will also include, for the third year running, a custom 2018 Third Man Records challenge coin, complete with album-specific artwork. The substantial and stylish coin doubles as a 45 adaptor and grants its holder 10% off purchases in both Third Man Records storefronts. Past Third Man Challenge coins will no longer be valid at Third Man storefronts once Vault Package #35 ships.

Third Man Vault subscriptions are open now through January 31. All BOARDING HOUSE REACH Vault packages will ship to arrive on and as close to the album’s official March 23 street date. Learn more about this package, additional Vault benefits and subscribe now at Third Man Records HERE.

His most recent full-length release, 2016’s JACK WHITE ACOUSTIC RECORDINGS: 1998-2016 (Third Man Records/Columbia), collected 26 acoustic-based songs from throughout White’s wide-ranging musical career, spanning album tracks, B-sides, remixes, alternate versions, and previously unreleased material from The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and White’s groundbreaking solo career. The collection debuted at #1 onBillboard‘s “Vinyl Albums” chart upon its September 2016 release – a position also achieved by 2012’s RIAA gold certified solo debut, BLUNDERBUSS, and 2014’s chart-topping LAZARETTO, both of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 as well.

Walk The Moon Press Restart Tour 2018

Walk The Moon. You may be reading this and thinking, “oh that’s the band that sings ‘Shut Up And Dance‘, right?” Well, yes, but they are so much more than that. Continue reading to hear all about how they brought the house down at Stage AE on Tuesday night and provided some temporary relief from the cold rainy weather.
On tour with them, Walk The Moon brought along Company of Thieves as their opener. Originally, they’re from Chicago, IL and have since relocated to Los Angeles. Personally, they remind me of a much poppier and mild Tonight Alive… mostly because every member in the band is male aside from the lead singer. Genevieve is the lead singer and she is amazing. She works the stage and has a very powerful voice and can take the attention of everyone in the room. I loved them. Their sound was fitting to the headliner’s genre as well and I felt they meshed well. I hate going to shows and the openers’ genre(s) don’t match or mesh well with who the headliner is. Company of Thieves was the perfect opener and their set was fantastic. Their performance was fun and upbeat and kept the audience’s attention throughout. Their Facebook is linked above and you can follow them on just about every form of social media (and I suggest you check out their music on Spotify as well if Indie/Pop is your thing).
Walk The Moon opened up their set with “Press Restart” from their newest album, ‘What If Nothing’. According to their Facebook page, they are considered Indie/Visual/Lyrical, which is very fitting after having seen them live. Their light show is amazing and rivals The 1975. May not beat it, but it’s up there. They play around with tons of different colors (no pun intended… you’ll understand in a few seconds) and have produced an all around fun production to go along with their crazy talent.
Later in the set, they slowed it down a bit for “Aquaman” and “Surrender” to which the crowd sang every word. “Different Colors” was soon after (see I told you). Before this, lead singer, Nicholas Petricca gave a little speech about equality and our society. Their light show included every different color on the spectrum, with a visual in the background with rainbow colors, the universal representation of equality.
If I could say anything that’s very consistent within their show, it would be to bring ear plugs because it’s very loud and also, don’t be afraid to dance. Have some fun because they make it hard not to. “Shut Up And Dance” really got the crowd moving. Everyone was singing along, dancing, and fist pumping. A few songs later, they got the crowd moving again with “One Foot”, and as I said before, if you’re at a Walk The Moon show, don’t be afraid to dance. Even if you suck at it. They make it so hard to just sit and watch. So, do yourself a favor and give in and dance your socks off.
They continued with “Next In Line” and “Headphones” before leaving the stage and awaiting the screaming crowd, aka their cue to come back and do the encore. Once the crowd was loud enough, they came back and made a point to note that this was the loudest crowd of the tour so far. That of course got the crowd to be even louder. The encore consisted of two hits from the 2014 release, ‘Talking Is Hard‘, “Up 2 U” and finally, “Anna Sun“.
I can honestly say this was one of the most fun shows I’ve been to in a while. Their show is definitely worth the ticket purchase. They have this way of temporarily relieving you of your anxieties for an hour and a half. Some of my favorite photos of the night are showcased below! You can also go check out their latest album, “What If Nothing” on Spotify here!

WILL PITTSBURGH GET THE FINAL SLAYER TOUR?

The question on every metalhead’s mind yesterday was whether Slayer would hit their town on the final tour with the likes of Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Testament.  The answer for Pittsburgher’s is YES!!!  See below for details…

After making some of the most brutal, breathtakingly aggressive, all-hell’s-a-breaking-loose music ever created, being one of the four bands that defined an entire musical genre and being the band that other heavy acts are measured against and aspire to…after nearly 37 years, releasing 12 studio albums, multiple live recordings, compilations, live video and two box sets, playing nearly 3000 concerts in all corners of the world, receiving countless awards including five Grammy nominations and two Grammy awards, Gold records and other accolades…having its own exhibit in the Smithsonian Institute, gracing hundreds of magazine covers, experiencing the devastating loss of a founding brother, and even appearing on “The Tonight Show,” the age of Slayer, one of the greatest thrash/metal/punk bands of this or any age, is coming to an end.
Slayer announces that it will do one last concert tour around the globe to thank their fans for all of their support over the years, for making the last three-and-a-half decades so packed with good times and unforgettable experiences, and will then move on.
Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament will support Slayer on the first leg, North America, of its final world tour.  Tickets go on sale to the public this Friday, January 26 at 10AM local time. Very limited Slayer onstage + meet & greet+ exclusive merchandise packages will be available.  Log on to www.slayer.net for this and all ticket purchasing info.
Randy Blythe of LAMB OF GOD says: “If you are lucky enough to be invited to play even just once with living legends like Slayer, it’s an incredible honor. Slayer gave LAMB OF GODour very first two overseas shows. Slayer has subsequently taken us on several full-length tours, both at home and abroad. The guys in Slayer and their crew have also always been very, very cool to our band. It is irrefutable that Slayer helped create the genre of aggressive metal, and all modern bands of that ilk owe them a huge debt – I know we do. To be asked to be a part of their final tour – well, it just makes you stop and realize just how lucky you are. Hail Slayer! We’ll see you on the road…”

ABOUT SLAYER – www.slayer.net:
For more than three decades, Slayer’s onslaught has proven the band to be the supreme thrash-metal band on the planet, the band that other heavy acts are measured against and aspire to. Their membership in “The Big Four” – Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax – the four bands that defined the thrash/metal genre – secures their place in music history.
The two-time Grammy-winners have accumulated an abundance of certified Gold Albums along with “Best…” awards from media outlets all over the world, including Kerrang!SPINMetal HammerRevolver, and Esquire.  Throughout Slayer’s history, the band has never faltered in unleashing its extreme and focused sonic assault, and, unlike many of its contemporaries who commercialized their sound, Slayer has remained crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the mainstream.  Slayer’s founding member, guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed in 2013, and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has been filling in for him since.  Paul Bostaph, who was Slayer’s drummer from ’94 – ’01, rejoined bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King in 2013, and is back behind the kit to stay.
In September 2015, Slayer released Repentless, the band’s 12th, and what would be their final studio album, the first without Hanneman and first with producer Terry Date, to widespread rave reviews and the highest chart debut of the band’s career.  The band also teamed up with director BJ McDonnell for three high-concept and brutal music videos for the album’s title track, then for “You Against You,” and the most recent, “Pride in Prejudice,” racking up a combined 25-million+ YouTube views.  In 2017, Dark Horse Comics published the three-issue “Repentless” comic book series based on McDonnell’s original story concept for the videos and written by “Metalocalypse” director Jon Schnepp.
On January 22, 2018, Slayer announced its decision to do one last world tour to thank its fans for their decades-long support, and then move on.  All Hail Slayer.
ABOUT LAMB OF GOD – http://www.lamb-of-god.com:
Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD are one of heavy music’s most successful and uncompromising bands.  When the band’s first major release, New American Gospel, was released in 2000 it was immediately touted as a classic within the genre. AllMusic stated it best, “The essential signatures of post-Pantera metal are in abundance on Lamb of God’s inaugural album. New American Gospel provides a mighty oak upon which gritty American metal’s faith is maintained, effectively bridging the ’90s’ insistence upon drill-sergeant technicality and the old school’s determined focus on riff construction.”
Some predicted a sophomore slump – that no band could top a debut album so strong.  They were proven wrong, with the release of 2004’s Ashes of the Wake, an album that not only exploded stateside (certified Gold by RIAA) but also saw the spread of LAMB OF GODto all corners of the world.  The band’s first DVD, Killadelphia, followed shortly after and was certified Platinum.  Then, with Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 debut on the US Billboard Hot 200), LAMB OF GOD were honored with a Grammy nomination for the track “Redneck”, which would be the first of five Grammy nominations for the band to date. Next came Walk With Me In Hell (DVD, 2008) and then the band’s fourth album Wrath in 2009, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart, and then Resolution, which debuted at #3. Shortly after the release of Resolution, vocalist Randy Blythe was arrested in Prague, and spent 30 days in jail on a charge for which he was later acquitted (and lead to Blythe’s bestselling memoir, Dark Days, as well as the film As The Palaces Burn).  After regrouping,LAMB OF GOD lost no ground with their latest full-length album, VII: Sturm Und Drang, the album was #3 in the US, #1 in Canada, #2 in Australia, #3 in Finland, #7 in UK, #12 in Germany and #13 in Japan, and #13 in Netherlands. “Overlord“, the first single from VII: Sturm Und Drang, achieved a new milestone for the band when it reached the Top Thirty of US Active Rock Radio Chart (Mediabase).  In late 2016, LAMB OF GOD paid tribute to late, longtime fan and friend Wayne Ford with the release of The Duke EP, which raised funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The EP release coincided with a charity campaign offering personal items such as Blythe’s Ashes Of The Wake Gold plaque, signed signature model guitars, handwritten lyrics and more.
Since inception and through it all, LAMB OF GOD‘s consistent and unwavering commitment to their music – and their fans – has kept them a critical and fan favorite worldwide, selling millions of albums and tickets around the world.
LAMB OF GOD is Randy Blythe (vocals), Mark Morton (guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Chris Adler (drums).

ABOUT ANTHRAX – https://anthrax.com:
As part of the band’s 35th anniversary year, Anthrax released one of 2016’s most-anticipated metal/thrash albums, For All Kings (February 26/Megaforce in North America/Nuclear Blast internationally), that debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Chart, and #9 on the Top 200, becoming Anthrax’s highest-charting album in more than two decades.  Written by drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello and guitarist Scott Ian, the dynamic triumvirate whose unique composition chemistry is, in part, what sets Anthrax’s music apart from other bands’ in the same genre, combined with Joey Belladonna’s breathtaking vocals and the searing guitar leads by newest member Jonathan Donais, it’s no wonder the album and the band’s live shows have consistently received tremendous reviews.
Over its 35-year career, Anthrax has been a pioneering band with its unique style, sound and heavy brand of thrash metal, and, as Metallica’s Kirk Hammett put it, “one can hear their influence on any number of up and coming bands.”  Anthrax has sold in excess of 10-million units, received multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations and a host of other accolades from the media, industry and fans.  From the race and genre barriers Anthrax helped break down in 1988 when they collaborated with Public Enemy on “Bring The Noise,” to becoming a card-carrying member of The Big Four – with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth – as one of the four bands that defined the speed/thrash metal genre – to being the first metal band to have its music heard on Mars when NASA played “Got The Time” to wake up the Mars Rover, Anthrax continues to break ground andinnovate.  On December 13, 2016, the Epiphone/Revolver Music Awards presented Anthrax with its first-ever “Innovator Award” to acknowledge the band’s contribution to music.  On April 27, Anthrax will release “Kings Among Scotland,” a live DVD shot at the band’s 2/15/16 show at Glasgow’s historic venue Barrowland Ballroom.
ABOUT BEHEMOTH – http://behemoth.pl
Behemoth have been carving out their claim as one of the world’s top extreme / black metal bands since their inception in 1991. That claim was solidified in 2014 with the release of the band’s tenth album, The Satanist. The record marked their triumphant return following front man Adam “Nergal” Darski’s battle with Leukemia. “‘The Satanist‘ is magic. It’s dangerous. It’s adventurous, and it’s organic,” states Nergal. While instantly recognizable as the work of the Polish blackened death quartet, it takes their sound in previously unimagined and riveting directions. A writhing, densely layered, brutally violent and sinister record, it is quite unlike anything ever unleashed within the canon of heavy music. As such it demands attention, offering ever greater sonic and emotional depths with every listen. This is evident in the band’s videos for the title track, as well as “Messe Noir” and “Ben Sahar”. Nergal continues, “You may hear the title and think it’s very primitive and one-dimensional, and yes it is, but when you look beyond that it’s as primitive as it is complex and multidimensional, and that applies to everything about the record.” Behemoth‘s lineup is rounded out by Inferno (drums), Orion (bass), and Seth (guitar).

The Satanist debuted at #34 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in the United States. In their home country of Poland, the album became their second consecutive #1 debut, along with 2009’s Evangelion. Since the release of The SatanistBehemoth have published their official biography “Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors” as well as Nergal’s own biography, “Confessions of a Heretic: The Sacred and the Profane: Behemoth and Beyond.” The books are available worldwide now.

For over three decades, the Bay Area thrash quintet-Chuck Billy [vocals], Eric Peterson [guitar], Alex Skolnick [guitar], Steve DiGiorgio [bass], and Gene Hoglan [drums]-has consistently delivered unadulterated, unbridled, and unbreakable metal in its purest form without compromise or any signs of slowing down. Over the course of seminal releases ranging from The Legacy and Practice What You Preach to The Gathering and The Formation of Damnation, which won “Best Album” at Metal Hammer’s 2008 Golden Gods Awards, the group’s sales exceeded 14 million worldwide with 2 million in the U.S. alone. Most recently, 2012’sDark Roots of Earth and 2016’s Brotherhood of the Snake assaulted the charts, both debuting within Billboard’s Top 20 chart.

ABOUT URIAH HEEP:
URIAH HEEP debuted in 1970 with the release of one of hard rock’s milestones, “Very ‘eavy… Very ‘umble” and have since sold in excess of 40 million albums worldwide. They constantly tour the world, playing up to 125 shows a year to 500,000+ fans. The band’s live set features the classic tracks from the ’70s and is a musical journey from the band’s beginnings to the present day.
Along with Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep helped invent a decorative and uniquely British form of heavy metal with their debut album, Very ‘Eavy, Very ‘Umble, offered as a self-titled on American shores, but whatever the titling, historically massive in the invention of a music format that would rule the ’70s and only intensify in the ’80s.

Uriah Heep have been responsible for the most elevated and intelligent use of vocals in a heavy metal context amongst the major bands inventing the genre in the 1970s. It is for this reason Heep were coined the Beach Boys of Heavy Metal, and their influence is there for all to see in other bands including ‘Queen.’ They were also one of the forerunners of using the Hammond organ along with Micks signature wah wah guitar and this became the template for their sound.

Success has followed the forging of such an audacious formula. Across 25 studio albums, along with myriad live releases and compilations, Uriah Heep have managed to sell 40 million records worldwide, four million of those in the US. Impressive American numbers, but that leaves 36 million records to be sold in the rest of the world, underscoring the fact that Uriah Heep have become, through their relentless dedication to touring, a truly global band, with particular success in Germany, Scandinavia, Japan, Eastern Europe and Russia, where they were the first Western rock band to play live in Moscow in December 1987 to 180,000 people.

Through their success as Rock n’ Roll pioneers this enabled other bands to follow in their wake and Russia is now part of every bands touring schedule.
URIAH HEEP is:
Mick Box: Guitars, Vocals
Phil Lanzon: Keyboards, Vocals
Bernie Shaw: Lead Vocals
Russell Gilbrook: Drums, Vocals
Dave Rimmer: Bass, Vocals

Wage War at SOLD OUT Stage AE Show

Joining  A Day to Remember for their seventh sold out show at Stage AE was the notorious Wage War who just so happened to be the opening act for the night.  Most times with opening acts, no one is particularly paying attention or really even cares because they’re usually there for the headliner or maybe even the direct support.  Honestly, that was not the case this time around whether people knew who Wage War was or not, a lot of people left as a newfound fan of the hardcore/metalcore band.

Being the opening act is sometimes nerve racking, nice to get it over with but being the band that basically “sets the bar” could be the downfall for some if not most.  Luckily, Wage War took the bar and smashed it through the roof!  They weren’t afraid to go hard, strut their stuff, and have a good time.  Starting off their set was one of their biggest headbanging songs “Stitch” before jumping right into “Alive” and “Enemy.”

Wage War ended up playing ten songs which is quite surprising that they were allotted that much time, but with them being close friends with Jeremy McKinnon for starters, and the excellent performance they conjured up its not surprising anymore.  They played a solid mix though with their setlist as they played five songs from each of their two albums (setlist below).  Aside from their heavier songs, they also had some singalong songs that really got the crowd involved which was a nice change of pace for their set.  Like: Gravity, Don’t Let Me Fade Away, and Twenty One.

Luckily… if you missed Wage War this time around DO NOT WORRY because they will be returning to Pittsburgh this December with Oceans Ate Alaska, Gideon, Varials, and Loathe.  If you are a metalcore/hardcore fan then I really don’t have to go into any details at all besides just saying that this is the show for you without question.

Don’t forget to checkout Wage War’s setlist and photos below!

MAC SABBATH Coloring Activity Book and Flexi Disc
Mixing raucous comedy with borderline-horrific theatrics, the only thing more petrifying than impending health problems resulting from years of overeating is a MAC SABBATH show. Show attendees should be prepared to partake in the fun – MAC SABBATH puts on a theatrical, multimedia stage show – complete with a smoking grill, laser-eyed clowns, bouncing burgers and many more magical surprises… basically anything and everything an unwary show-goer could ever want in their wildest dreams. Named by Buzzfeed as one of the “13 Metal Bands You Didn’t Know How to React To” + Named as LA’s “Best Tribute Band” by LA Weekly.

“… one of the most interesting bands to come around in a long, long time. They have Dead Kennedys’ outrageous sense of humor mixed with total irreverence and ornate style on top of a solid, engaging performance (even if the crowd is reluctant to respond). So while this whole thing was probably thought up after eating too many pot brownies, it is one of the most brilliant ideas in a long time.” – Troy Farah, Phoenix New Times

“This is not a drill. Be it exchanging Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” for a “Pair-a-buns” or “Iron Man” for a “Frying Pan,” these food-focused musical dweebs are cooking up something hot ‘n’ ready just for you.” – Alicia Lutes, MTV.com

“The most impressive-and terrifying-thing about Mac Sabbath is that they’re actually really good. Ronald channels his inner Ozzy onstage, from the manic jumping to the frantic hand waving…” – Bryan Rolli, Paste Magazine

“Even if the songs are dripping with onions and extra cheese, Mac Sabbath put on one righteous stage show, complete with smoke machines, gritty power chords, and endless head-banging.”  – Chris Coplan, ConsequenceofSound.net

High-energy Boston pop punk band Bleacher Days 12/12 at Black Forge

The high-energy Boston pop punk band Bleacher Days will be setting out on tour next month with Riviera (who recently performed at the Warped Rewind at Sea event). The punk package will be stopping in Pittsburgh on 12/12 at Black Forge.

Bleacher Days’ new EP I only Saw True Purpose will be out on 12/8 and was produced by Chris Piquette (Trophy Wives, Lions Lions). You can see a music video for the single “Once Again” here: https://youtu.be/S0IVPoGjdk4. The angst-charged, introspective songs on the new EP are poppy, but still pack enough punch to keep the mosh pits moving. Vocalist Wren Mohammed says the new record “is the product of frustration resulting from our lives and our relationships. The songs are a blunt chronicle of the back end of a 7 year relationship I was in and start to finish, each song is just frustration.

Boston-based pop punk band Bleacher Days has arrived with a new music video for their single “Some Strain of You,” premiering with Idobi Radio. The track comes via the band’s new EP I Only Saw True Purpose that was produced by Chris Piquette (Trophy WivesLions Lions).

The EP as a whole is essentially chronicling the end of a 7 year relationship I was in,” says vocalist Wren Mohammed. “‘Some Strain Of You’ functions as the moment you realize future plans you may have envisioned with someone simply aren’t gonna go the way you planned all this time, while also working as a criticism for someone using substances (be it drugs, alcohol or even an over usage of escapism such as television or video games) to deal with those negative emotions, as well as criticizing your own naivety. Those things, though they may numb the pain, are simply not healthy for you in such large and frequent doses. You’ve got to rid yourself of bad habits for yourself, and no one else.

When asked about the video, Mohammed told Idobi “Honestly the video was kind of spontaneous. We hit up our boy Dan Fried (Just Fly Casual) and sent him the song, not really knowing what we wanted to do with it. He had the idea of shooting the gang in some cool spots. So we brainstormed and just went to some places around Massachusetts we thought we look cool on camera haha. It all worked out because we ended up going places where we all had some memories with certain people that we didn’t exactly want to think about, and we managed to make new memories through shooting the video. So like recording the EP itself, the experience was wicked cathartic. It’s a real good look into who we are as people and how interact with each other. Some of our friends even make some guest appearances in it!

Bleacher Days will be setting out on tour this December with Riviera (who recently performed at the Warped Rewind at Sea event). The punk package will start in Stroudsburgh, PA and end in Attleboro, MA on 12/16 (full list of dates below).

In its first year of hard work, Bleacher Days has made an immediate impact on New England shows, rallying bands together and promoting in person on their way to selling out a 250 cap room with their most recent headliner. A feeling of camaraderie consumes the room when the band takes the stage and the relationships within the band run deeper than the band’s one year age would suggest. Longtime friends, past musical projects, and once abandoned ideas is what brought Bleacher Days together.

I Only Saw True Purpose is available now on Spotify.

SUICIDE SILENCE “The Cleansing” 10th Anniversary Tour Stops At Diesel on 11/28

SUICIDE SILENCE celebrated the 10 year anniversary of their debut LP The Cleansing on September 27th. The album was highly successful debuting at No. 94 on the Billboard 200 charts and securing their legacy as the death-metal front runners.

To commemorate this momentous anniversary, the band is hitting the road making 34 stops across North America. The tour kicked off in Oakland, California and will hit Toronto, New York, and Atlanta before concluding on December 17th in Los Angeles..

SUICIDE SILENCE will perform The Cleansing each night in its entirety. Joining the band on the tour are UPON A BURNING BODYSLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL and PRISONWINDS OF PLAGUE will meet up with the tour on December 12th in Dallas, Texas and finish the remaining dates.

“10 f—king years!! The Cleansing was a record we wrote when most of us were in our early 20’s. I was in my teens still! My has the time flown by,” guitarist Mark Heylmun writes. “All we knew back then was we wanted to offend ppl and piss in the face of the mainstream (Dying Fetus pun intended). We’ve wanted to do a commemorative tour for this record for years now and the time has come. The Cleansing broke us into the metal world and the record came from a very special place, a fresh place, a place that words fail when I try to describe it, and without it…well we wouldn’t be here attempting to describe it.”

Heylmun adds, “Mitch [Lucker] had a vision for this record, he wanted to set a standard for our scene and in my eyes he created much much more. Since his passing, Eddie has paid homage to Mitch‘s vox on this record every night. It’s something very close to our hearts to have Eddie singing these songs with us. Mitch and Eddie inspired each other, exchanged vocal tips, and both have the passion for the most brutal sounds you can humanly make and it’s going to be an amazing show for us and for you. Emotions will be high, maybe we will be high too, you don’t want to miss this. Let’s f—king party! Come celebrate with us cuz this will only happen once!”

The story of GWAR is carved across the history of this barren and hopeless planet, but GWAR themselves are not of this world… their story begins in the deepest reaches of outer space. Long ago, the beings who would become the rock band GWAR were part of an elite fighting force, the Scumdogs of the Universe. For eons, they served as thralls to a supreme being known only as the Master. But one by one, each future member of the band earned a glaring reputation for being an intergalactic fuck-up. And so, they were banished, sent away on a fool’s errand to conquer an insignificant shitball floating in a dark corner of the universe; the planet Earth.  Once here, GWAR shaped the face of the globe, destroying and rebuilding the natural world, and giving rise to all of human history. Aliens to some, gods and demons to others, our erstwhile Scumdogs fucked apes to create the human race, and this fateful unplanned pregnancy would prove to be truly disastrous!

Their new album, “The Blood of Gods” is nothing less than a sacred text chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of their great mistake, from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Humans are shown as what they are; a parasitical disease that must be eradicated before they suck the planet dry. Meanwhile, Sleazy P. Martini, the crooked entrepreneur who discovered the Scumdogs, and has always envisioned them as a sort of horrific boy band, finally managed to convince the group to write a hit song called “I’ll Be Your Monster.” If all goes according to plan, it may be just stupid enough to work!

Of course, “The Blood of Gods” is the first GWAR album without the band’s fallen leader, Oderus Urungus. The title of the album refers to the loss of Oderus. and the struggles and triumphs that produced the new sound of the band. Born of adversity, “The Blood of Gods” is a sonic scar…a question asked and answered…Death cannot kill GWAR. Nothing can. GWAR LIVES MOTHERFUCKERS!

R&B and reggae crooner Sammy Johnson will be performing in Pittsburgh, PA on Friday, October 20th

R&B and reggae crooner Sammy Johnson will be performing in Pittsburgh, PA on Friday, October 20th! Australian native, New Zealand-bred soulful reggae star Sammy Johnson will bring his positive-centric brand of entertainment back to the United States this fall with the announcement of the Mixed Feelings Tour. Sammy Johnson collides his Polynesian roots with his love for modern jazz and r&b artists like D’Angelo, Amy Winehouse, and Lauryn Hill, which results in a passionate musical hybrid that is undeniably soothing.

Show Details:
When: Friday, October 20th
Where: Rex Theatre
Time: 7:00 PM
Price: $20-$23
Sammy Johnson has remained busy releasing a constant influx of music since his breakthrough self-titled 2014 EP, which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Reggae Charts. He has since seen an organic growth as a result of his hard work and dedication to his craft. Since his debut, Sammy Johnson has since enjoyed multiple sold-out performances and large festival appearances. Accompanying the soulful vocalist are musicians Gabriel Miller (guitar), Samuel Ikeda (bass), and Elias English (drums.)
The upcoming Mixed Feelings Tour will take the music of Sammy Johnson into unchartered waters, visiting never-before visited cities and bringing his music to eager audiences. With new music waiting in the wings, even the most diehard fans will enjoy a new experience. Sammy’s goal for this tour is to make each stop a unique and interactive experience, reacting to the given energies rather than forcing uninspiring by-the-script performances so many touring bands fall victim to. Speaking on this sentiment, Sammy stated “When fans come to my show, I want them to really feel like they’re a part of it.“
With new music scheduled to drop later this month, including a collaboration with tourmate Anuhea, Sammy Johnson is finding his way onto the radars of many. Be on the lookout for Sammy’s new EP, coming out on Island Empire Records in the near future, and be sure not to miss Sammy’s first East Coast tour!

TWO-DAY AND SINGLE-DAY GENERAL ADMISSION AND VIP FESTIVAL PASSES ON SALE NOW AT THRIVALFESTIVAL.COM

The Thrival Innovation + Music Festival celebrates its fifth year by elevating
both its music and innovation elements to new heights.
On September 27-28, Thrival Innovation tackles Pittsburgh’s emergence as a hub for artificial intelligence and
automation (think: driveless cars and more) with its theme “Intelligence: Humans X Tech” — featuring 50+
speakers and a dozen custom programs, welcoming experts from around the U.S., representing Fortune 500s,
tech giants, startups, and more.
Thrival’s two-day outdoor live music experience once again brings a distinctive blend of 19 national and local
artists to unorthodox ‘venues.” Thrival Music headliners include Wiz Khalifa, Logic, Carnage, GRiZ, Two Door
Cinema Club and over a dozen more acts to perform at the historic Carrie Furnaces on September 29-30.
Two-day and single-day general admission and VIP festival passes are on sale now at thrivalfestival.com.
Grammy-nominated recording artist, Wiz Khalifa, will make his only 2017 hometown appearance in Pittsburgh
after an extensive festival run across the country and through parts of Europe.
Stepping outside of the music realm, Wiz Khalifa will also step into the entrepreneurial spotlight, speaking
alongside other keynote participants at Thrival Innovation’s marquee event at the Carnegie Museum of Art on
Thursday, September 28.
Right on the heels of Pennsylvania’s legalization of medical marijuana, Wiz Khalifa will share the stage with
Marc Ruxin, CEO of Landseye – Privateer, and John Battelle, founding editor of WIRED Magazine to discuss
“High Road” — a talk on the economy and culture of marijuana, as well as the Taylor Gang’s entrepreneurial
ventures.
“Virtually everyone is familiar with Wiz Khalifa the artist, but both Wiz and the Taylor Gang are entrepreneurs
building successful and dynamic ventures outside of music. Their voice is important to not just promote our
innovation economy, but to demonstrate major success stories coming out of Pittsburgh and the Rust Belt,”
says Dan Law, director of Thrival and Vice President of Business Development at Ascender.
Tickets for the Thrival-Carnegie Museum of Art event are only $15 and on sale at
thrivalfestival.com.
Following Thrival Innovation, Thrival Music kicks off Friday, Sept 29 with headliner Logic who’s “1-800-273-
8255” scored #1 song in the country just last week with the moving lyrics and awareness of the suicide
prevention network. Watch Logic’s MTV VMA performance from earlier this month that captivated audiences
across America.

Gearing up for Thrival Innovation + Music Festival headliner Wiz Khalifa will take the field at PNC Park on
Wednesday, Sept 27 to throw the first pitch for the Pittsburgh Pirates last home game of the season vs
Baltimore Orioles. Game time is set for 7:05pm tickets can be purchased here.

GWAR Announces North American Fall Tour// Pittsburgh 10/23 @MrSmalls

New Album “The Blood of Gods” Out October 20th via Metal Blade Records
On October 20thGWAR will release a new studio album entitled “The Blood of Gods” via Metal Blade Records.  In support of the new album, your Lords and Masters will leave their arctic slumber and return to the road to cause aural (and anal) devastation across North America.  Joining in the chaos will be Ghoul, Doyle (10/20-11/5), He Is Legend (11/7-12/10) and U.S. Bastards.  The tour kicks off in Richmond, VA on October 20th and runs through December 10th in Detroit, MI.  The tour includes a stop in New York City on Halloween as well!  A complete list of dates can be found below.

The Berserker Blothar had this to say about the upcoming tour:
“Humans, we are coming to tear your world apart with a live performance the likes of which has never been seen on this or any other planet! This album, “The Blood of Gods,” is the greatest thing since French toast.  Just hearing these songs performed will result in an instant paroxysm of weeping, gnashing of teeth, and the uncontrollable voiding of your filthy bowels. Now, we are taking the whole bloody shit show on the road, with the most spectacular, blood-drenched, gruesome, and terrifying rock concert of all time. Don’t miss your chance to sacrifice yourself to GWAR at a venue near you!”

Bohabs! Be the coolest corpse in the pile! Don’t miss your chance to pledge your allegiance to GWAR each night when they rape and pillage your town. Head to https://www.gwarvip.com to take part in “The Lords and Masters VIP Experience”.

General admission tickets and VIP Packages go on sale to the public this Friday August 18th at 10:00 AM Eastern.

The Lords and Masters VIP Experience Includes:
*One (1) General Admission Ticket with Venue Early Entry (potentially guest list)
*Exclusive access to GWAR soundcheck where you will pledge allegiance to your Lords & Masters!
*Invitation to play a GWAR instrument onstage at soundcheck
*Tour of the weapons of your Lords & Masters
*Crowd Free Merch Access
*One (1) Souvenir item signed by members of GWAR
*One (1)  Souvenir GWAR laminate
*Photo opportunity with GWAR before the show
*You will be killed by GWAR on stage during the show.
*Designated Slave Pit Area to pledge your allegiance before you are killed on stage by GWAR!

There are only 5 VIP TICKETS available per show, that’s it so don’t wait.

Concerning the album;  “The Blood of Gods” is nothing less than a sacred text chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of their great mistake, from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Humans are shown as what they are; a parasitic disease that must be eradicated before they suck the planet dry.

Future Generations in Pittsburgh @BrilloBox on August 3rd

Future Generations has been busy since the NYC quintet released its debut album in July 2016. In 2017, Future Generations played an official SXSW showcase in March and continued a streak of successful shows including in NYC, Philly, Nashville, Dallas, and DC. In November, FG toured out to Chicago and Atlanta to support Savoir Adore, and played with them again this February.

In addition to “Stars,” Future Generations singles “Thunder In The City” and “Coast” garnered over 1 million streams combined. “You’ve Got Me Flush” has emerged as the band’s second-most popular song, racking up almost 1 million Spotify plays on its own. The album has led to favorable comparisons to MGMT and Passion Pit, with the band’s love of catchy hooks and dynamic electronic production evident throughout.

Future Generations is Eddie Gore (vox, keys, guitar), Mike Sansevere (synthesizer, guitar, percussion), Eric Grossman (guitar), Devon Sheridan (bass) and Dylan Wells (percussion). Gore, Sansevere and Grossman met while in college at Fordham University and the 3 quickly bonded over sharing a nerd-like, academic appreciation of all forms of pop, rap and rock music. The three have been writing and recording music together since the first day they met; Junior year, Gore recruited Sheridan, a fellow Fordham 2015 classmate, to join the band.

After graduation, Future Generations recorded in Brooklyn with Eli Janney (Tweens) and enlisted Claudius Mittendorfer (Neon Indian) for production. They added Wells in March 2016, after he tried out for the band via a Craiglist ad. The band currently lives together in Brooklyn.

Mark Lanegan Band Announce “Still Life With Roses” Remix EP Out September 29th on Heavenly Recordings

Mark Lanegan Band Announce Still Life With Roses Remix EP, Out September 29th Via Heavenly Recordings
On US Tour in August
US Tour Dates
Following career-best reviews for his tenth album Gargoyle, and a sold–out UK tour in late June, MARK LANEGAN BAND today announce the release of Still Life With Roses, a 6 track EP of remixes from the LP by various producers whose work he admires. The EP, released 29th September via Heavenly Recordings, will be available as 12” vinyl and download and comprises a brilliant array of remixes by the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Adrian Sherwood and Pye Corner Audio. The Adrian Sherwood remix of Nocturne is available an instant grat and streaming HERE, the track listing is further down the announcement:

Press acclaim for Gargoyle:

“Mark Lanegan makes blues for our time, chopping up sonic tropes, stretching them over handcarved laments, wrenching them from his throat and bleeding badly all over them.” -PASTE

“It features, as always, Lanegan’s smoky, whiskey-soaked baritone singing voice (if you’re unfamiliar, imagining a more soulful Leonard Cohen puts you in the ballpark), and it continues his ongoing explorations of synth music” -Dangerous Minds

“[It] is stunning not only for the music’s scintillating sheen, but also for Lanegan’s excellent performance. His gruff baritone has always been reminiscent of Leonard Cohen, but here he recalls the late great’s iridescent lyrics with a moribund romanticism.” – Stereogum

“The one constant has been Lanegan’s moody, melancholic soul-shaker of a voice.” –The A.V. Club

“Gargoyle is as confident and assured as anything Lanegan has released. It stands up alongside his best work and pushes his method in a few new directions, without trying to break from the paradigm” -Pop Matters

“Gargoyle has an early 80s UK electronic rock feel, with Lanegan’s rough vocal rasp sawing through musical timbres reminiscent of what was being played out at Manchester’s Factory.” – The WIRE

Still Life With Roses tracklist:
1. Nocturne (Adrian Sherwood remix)
2. Blue Blue Sea (Not Waving Remix)
3. Old Swan (Pye Corner Audio remix)
4. Beehive (Andrew Weatherall remix)
5. Beehive (Andrew Weatherall dub)

6. Death’s Head Tattoo (Falling Percussion Dub)

Liam Gallagher Shares Video For New Track “Chinatown”

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE: https://youtu.be/GWDu-9zHG6Y

Debut Solo Album As You Were

Released Globally October 6 on Warner Bros. Records

Last week Liam Gallagher debuted another new track from his highly anticipated solo album, As You Were. Gallagher continues to build anticipation for theOctober 6 release of his debut solo album by sharing the brand new video for the track “Chinatown.” The video was directed by Charlie Lightening for Lightening Films (Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, Kasabian) and was filmed at several locations in London one of which of course was London’s Chinatown area. Click here to view and share the video.
In contrast to album’s first single “Wall Of Glass,” “Chinatown” is an atmospheric, psychedelic slow burner in which he utilizes a softer side of his inimitable vocal prowess. The two tracks hint at what to expect from As You Were, with Gallagher adding a forward-looking expression of his passion for a wide range of influences from the 60s and 70s.

“Chinatown” was produced and written by Andrew Wyatt, the frontman of the band Miike Snow, whose previous credits include collaborations with the likes of Florence + The Machine. In addition to his work on “Chinatown”, Wyatt also co-wrote four other tracks on As You Were the shape of “Wall Of Glass”, “Paper Crown”, “Come Back To Me” and “Doesn’t Have To Be That Way”.

WATCH THEIR NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR “MON ESPRIT

“An alluring indie pop record filled with playful rhythms and a genuine love for the Louisiana city”
“Créatures is a bilingual mix of English and French songs set to music that’s as indebted to indie rock as New Orleans.”
New Orleans, LA – Louisiana bilingual pop project, Sweet Crude, have added new dates in June and July to their headline tour. Additionally, the band is confirmed to play Bonnaroo, and High Sierra, among other festivals. A current list of cities they will hit can be found below. Tickets for all shows are on sale today and can be purchased at https://goo.gl/0j4eML
Sweet Crude recently released their new album Créatures through Rhyme & Reason Records on April 21st. It is now for purchase on vinyl and CD here and digitally here. Fans can also stream the album in full on Spotify.
Sweet Crude is a young 6-piece composed of New Orleans musicians creating a sound that sets English and Louisiana’s native French dialect to decidedly non-Cajun music. The band, boasting surnames like Marceaux and Chachere, seeks to reconnect with their lineage in the context of 5-part harmonies, tribal rhythms, and pop hooks.
Sweet Crude debuted in Spring 2013 and have hit the ground running. Music from their EP Super Vilaine can be heard in FX’s American Horror Story and the band has been receiving generous amounts of plays nationally and internationally on public, satellite and internet radio.  Sweet Crude has tested their frenetic sound on the road, packing venues across the country. They have been praised and featured with publications such as Consequence of Sound, Washington Post, Marie Claire, Brooklyn Vegan, FUSE, PopMatters, and more.
