Mixus Brothers of Pittsburgh looking to make a mark

Made up of Jebbh (guitar, vocals) and Red (drums, vocals), The Mixus Brothers out of Pittsburgh, PA have been self-producing music for the masses since they met in 2011.  After circuitous routes through cities such as Chicago, IL and Portland, OR – as well as many others – the Brothers’ lives intersected at beautiful Frick Park one fall day and they have been making their unique brand of Americana ever since.

With their critically acclaimed debut album “Westward the Tide” in 2012, a confident style began to take shape which ushered in 4 further releases over the course of the next 5 years.  With each new release, they have honed their craft and discovered more about themselves and the joys of making and performing music.

As Winter turns into Spring the new-year brings The Mixus Brothers 7th collection called “The Lonesome Gods”. Their most accomplished and convincing album to date. It will be released in 3 Volumes consisting of 4 songs each.  Exploring themes of nature, relationships and life, the singer-songwriters combine their typical foot stomping tunes with expanded deeper sound creations.

Typically a duo, The Mixus Brothers are lucky enough to be joined for live performances by fellow musicians and family members who help round out their sound and presentation.

156/SILENCE: Pittsburgh Metalcore Outfit Announce New Album + Premiere New Video Via Metal Injection

Pittsburgh metal/hardcore punishers 156/SILENCE are proud to announce the release of their impending sophomore album Irrational Pull, due out June 5 via self-release.

Formed in 2015 in the heart of the Steel City, the Pennsylvanian quartet produces a different type of molten metal — unadulterated metallic hardcore in the vein of Norma JeanDaughters and Poison the Well. Fronted by Jack Murray, the band embarks on their second album with the dynamic vocalist, who displays more dissonant and emotional feel than predecessors.

Produced and recorded by Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Full of HellGatecreeper), Irrational Pull sees the band embracing their metallic side full-force and with fists swinging. No longer attached to Innerstrength Records, the band is looking to make waves this year independent of any label.

156/SILENCE had plans to hit the road with death metal unit Katabasis for a six-city tour along the East Coast, but the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to that idea. Instead, the band plans to record a series of live sessions that will be distributed throughout the summer.

Irrational Pull is the culmination of everything this band has done since 2015,” says guitarist Jimmy Howell. “We’ve incorporated themes and tones throughout our entire catalog and created what we believe to be our most cohesive work yet.”

Esteemed Photographer Jeremy Saffer and Rare Bird Books Announce Halloween Release for “Daughters of Darkness” Coffee Table Photo Book

Noted celebrity and music photographer Jeremy Saffer has joined forces with Rare Bird Books for the release of the coffee table book Daughters of Darkness, a photographic love letter to the iconography of Black Metal and Doom.
“‘Daughters of Darkness’ has been a project that’s been in the works for a third of my lifetime,” Saffer says. “I knew that I wanted to make the most of this project and, most importantly, have it done the right way. Rare Bird not only shared my vision for what the physical collection of all this work should look like, but also are as excited for this project to come to fruition as I am. It’s really important that an artist’s vision is shared by the people bringing that vision into physical visual form.”
Adds Tyson Cornell, CEO, Rare Bird, “Rare Bird is happy to announce that we have acquired acclaimed photographer Jeremy Saffer’s ‘Daughters of Darkness.’ A labor of love that took 12 years and over 400 models, ‘Daughter of Darkness’ is Jeremy’s photographic love letter to the iconography of Black Metal and Doom. With 100+ photos, ‘Daughters of Darkness’ is a coffee table book that combines a love of photography, music, and the subculture of Metal.”
Having independently published two previous photography books, Saffer knew that Daughters of Darkness’ potential could be better realized through a collaboration with a dedicated publisher. Saffer quickly realized that Rare Bird Books shared his enthusiasm and passion for the project. “There is no question that Rare Bird will not just cultivate my work but push it forward with their incredible like-minded vision and guidance to make ‘Daughters of Darkness’ the best book it can be,” Saffer adds. “Every little detail and nuance that was important to me was important to them. Walking into my first face to face meeting with them, the owner was wearing a Satyricon hoodie, and we had talked metal as much as we had talked about the book. I knew I had found the perfect home for ‘Daughters of Darkness.’”
Saffer’s relationship with The Oracle began when photographing artists from the company’s stable of clients, including owner Dez Fafara’s own bands, DevilDriver and Coal Chamber. Seeing the work that Fafara and his wife Anahstasia have put into growing a thriving management company, Saffer felt it was the right time to hand over some of the logistical side of his business so he could focus on the artistic side.
“Getting to that next level in one’s career takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and sometimes the guidance of a like-minded team who fully understand and want to help you accomplish the goals you set forth for yourself,” Saffer explains. “Every conversation with Dez and Anahstasia is like getting a large syringe of adrenaline straight to your heart. Their passion, advice, vision, and positive energy is priceless beyond compare. I am so honored to be under such an incredible team who truly understand what I want to do and how to accomplish these things together. I have been able to let go of some of those hats I was wearing, knowing they are in more than capable hands, so I may focus more on my photography.”
Says The Oracle’s Dez Fafara, “We at The Oracle believe every artist is unique in their own right and brings something positive to the art and business table. We have the privilege of representing and being a guiding force in our artists lives,’ and our broad knowledge and experience affords us the opportunity to represent not only iconic musicians, well-known producers, influencer on air talent, as well as photographers such as Jeremy Saffer, who has been called ‘the photographer of a musical generation.’ Jeremy has a certain eye for his art, is trusted by even the most reclusive musicians to not only shoot live onstage but intimate and often forbidden areas such as backstage or in the homes of these stars. We are proud to be part of his journey in releasing his book ‘Daughters of Darkness’ through Rare Bird, and we hope you all who follow true art will appreciate the dark aesthetic of these photos in his new book.”

CODE ORANGE SHARE NEW SONG “SULFUR SURROUNDING”/ Record Release Party at The Roxian on Saturday

GRAMMY nominated band Code Orange have shared “Sulfur Surrounding,” the third new track to be released off their forthcoming album, UNDERNEATHdue out Friday, March 13th [Album Art / Tracklist Below]. “Sulfur Surrounding” is available today on all streaming platforms with an animated music video created by Code Orange’s own Eric ‘Shade’ Balderose streaming on the band’s YouTube channel. “Sulfur Surrounding” is a cinematic dirge that finds the band’s Reba Meyers and Jami Morgan trading off corrosive vocals with a mournful address to those buried by insecurities and lost in an endless cycle of objectification.

Morgan explains, “’Sulfur Surrounding’ is about your deepest relationships becoming manipulative, corrosive and eventually hopeless. Haunted by chemical compulsion. Fading into the depressive cycle. Another step on our journey under. The song showcases another stylistic dip on the rollercoaster that is UNDERNEATH. Soon all will become clear.”

UNDERNEATH is led byearly singles “Swallowing The Rabbit Whole” and “Underneath,” with the album already receiving immense critical praise. The UK’s Metal Hammer gave UNDERNEATH the magazine’s first perfect 10 out of 10 album review score in 5 years, hailing the LP as, “the first classic record of the decade.” Kerrang! awarded UNDERNEATH a flawless 5K review declaring the album, “one of the most powerful, cathartic, creatively satisfying and bruisingly heavy records of its age.” “’Underneath’ hulks out from oil-slick-black electronics and menacing synths, peeling under the skin to uncage Code Orange’s next evolution,” avowed NPR with Stereogum adding, “It pushes the band’s sound into something even bigger.” Rolling Stone praised Code Orange’s, “cutting melodies and the group’s balance of industrial rattle and shock-treatment guitar riffs,” while Revolver detailed the new music as “a whole other beast, and a monstrous one at that: hungry, pissed and unstoppable.”

UNDERNEATH is available for pre-order with bundles and four limited edition vinyl colorways, each featuring a gatefold jacket with a lenticular cover, also available. Produced by Morgan and Nick Raskulinecz with co-producer Will Yip, UNDERNEATH features additional programming from Chris Vrenna, and was mixed by Yip and Code Orange’s own Eric ‘Shade’ Balderose.

Comprised of Jami Morgan (Drums / Vocals), Eric ‘Shade’ Balderose (Electronics / Guitar / Vocals), Reba Meyers (Guitar / Vocals), Dominic Landolina (Guitar) and Joe Goldman (Bass), Code Orange will make their live return on March 14th with a hometown record release show in Pittsburgh, PA, before heading out on The UNDERNEATHTHESKIN_TOUR with special guests Show Me The Body, Jesus Piece, Year Of The Knife, and Machine Girl. That headline tour is set to get underway March 30th in Boston, MA and is routed through Code Orange’s April 10th + 17th performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival [Itinerary Below]. Immediately following the spring tour, Code Orange will head out on Slipknot’s KNOTFEST ROADSHOW 2020North American tour, which begins May 30th in Syracuse, NY. For tickets and more information on Code Orange’s upcoming tour dates, visit

In 2017, Code Orange flipped the heavy music world on its head with their breakthrough album FOREVER, a collection that masterfully mixed hardcore aggression with urgent industrial textures, earning the band a breakthrough GRAMMY nomination and top placement on several “Best of 2017” lists including: Rolling Stone’s “20 Best Metal Albums of 2017,” Revolver’s “20 Best Albums of 2017,” and The Independent’s “Top 20 Rock & Metal Albums of 2017.”

This past summer, Code Orange made headlines in the professional wrestling world with the  release of “Let Me In,” their official entrance theme for WWE Superstar ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt. Code Orange previously featured at WWE’s NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III performing a rendition of wrestler Aleister Black’s entrance theme alongside Incendiary’s Brendan Garrone.  “Let Me In” followed Code Orange’s 2018 release of THE HURT WILL GO ON, a digital EP featuring “3 Knives” and “The Hunt” Feat. Corey Taylor, as well as “The Hurt Will Go On” (Shade Remix), an official remix of Code Orange’s “Hurt Goes On” helmed by the band’s guitarist and vocalist Shade. More recently the Code Orange has collaborated with a wide array of artists, co-producing Injury Reserve’s “HPNGC” Feat. JPEGMAFIA, as well as serving up a pair of remixes for alt-J’s “Hit Me Like That Snare” and “Adeline.”

Gift of Sacrifice was a stone groove to record and it will be a f**king blast to finally hit the road with my buddy Trevor Dunn,” says Osborne. “Once we take the stage, I guarantee we’ll kick the crap out of this album.” Dunn and Osborne have worked together several times in the past, both as members of Fantômas and with Dunn performing in the Melvins Lite iteration of the long-running, legendary band.

Osborne released his solo debut, This Machine Kills Artists, in 2014. Consequence of Sound said the album is “the negative bizarre Dylan Goes Electric,” adding “”Osborne’s jump across the electric/acoustic tracks succeeds much the way Dylan’s did: by keeping the strengths while adjusting the settings.” Pitchfork succinctly dubbed the collection “a refreshing breath of unplugged f**k-it-all folk.”

Gift of Sacrifice’s arrival will be met with an eight-week North American tour, seeing Osborne & Dunn traversing the continent with a May 13 launch in Palm Springs, Calif.

Experimental Rock Jazz Artist Horse Lords Plays Pittsburgh on 3/17 @ Collision

Horse Lords make music for the liberation of mind and body. Propulsive in a way that inspires movement and that’s felt in the gut, the Baltimore quartet’s new album The Common Task points to a utopian, modernist ideal. The group’s use of algorithmic composition techniques, microtonal harmonies, and plentifully deployed polyrhythm aren’t secondary to the music’s danceability and rhapsodic swirl, but integral to the party itself.

The Common Task is both the most cohesive and farthest-reaching record Horse Lords has released. A mystifying density of ideas collide at each moment, recalling as diverse a cohort as The Ex and Glenn Branca to raucous Saharan guitar music, Albert Ayler, and James Tenney. It integrates experiments that gestated in the group’s cassette-only mixtape series, which saw the band stretching out on extended compositions and more expansive sonic parameters as well as presenting more explicitly political material, while retaining the immediacy of their long players. As evidenced by the album’s title, as well as songs like “Fanfare for Effective Freedom” and “People’s Park,” the band’s penchant for radical politics is especially accentuated on this release. Embedded in the exuberant interplay of guitar and sax, the persistent pulse of bass and drums, are notions of egalitarianism and the subversion of established norms.

“Fanfare for Effective Freedom” augments its slippery 5/8 groove with keyboard runs that seem pried from a Terry Riley album, an apt reference for musicians interested in ecstatic release and sonic emancipation. “Integral Accident,” an 18-minute piece that occupies the album’s entire b-side that features the first sung vocals on a Horse Lords album, was originally composed for a program focused on the concept of “revolution.” Even more than 2016’s Interventions, now a classic of the underground and praised by the New York Times as “live, shivering with energy,” electronic elements have been fully enmeshed into the band’s template, from synthetic treatment of bagpipes on “The Radiant City” to the dub and reggaeton-inspired drum edits and synth pulses of “People’s Park.”

Horse Lords are the Pied Piper of experimental music and radical thought. Their music is unabashedly fun, and experiencing it in a live context is an experience of collective ecstasy, each body moving to its own notion of what the beat may be. That shared experience, the joy of unified flow and motion, allows the ideas typically understood as “difficult” to be more easily absorbed. By using musical forms that point towards new ways of being, thinking, and organizing, by constantly re-evaluating assumptions and compositional systems, Horse Lords provide a model for society at large. By showing just how joyous it can be to imagine new futures and possibilities, by making us dance and howl with each tectonic shift, they show how dazzling the path towards utopia could be.

The Portland, Oregon-based VINTERSEA – whose crushing progressive metal draws heavy inspiration from the darkened skies of their native Pacific Northwest – has unveiled a new music video, “Befallen,” the latest in a series of dazzling clips that pair the group’s blackened, dramatic mini-epics with stunning visuals.
The “Befallen” video – which the band premiered before a live audience at Portland’s Hawthorne Theatre on Sunday night – was directed by bassist Karl Whinnery and filmed at the abandoned Satsop Nuclear Power Plant in Elma, Washington, a small town located 90 miles southwest of Seattle. “I wanted the video to represent the bleakness and capture the aggressiveness of ‘Befallen’ appropriately,” Whinnery says. “When we started discussing concepts, I knew I had the proper location in mind and everyone jumped on board. Barely above freezing and filming six stories off the ground in some spots, it was an epic shoot. We had to shoot with fish-eye lenses to fully capture the gigantic scope of the cooling tower and reactor rooms.”
Adds guitarist Riley Nix, “’Befallen’ occupies a particularly dark place in the album’s timeline, and it’s meant to evoke immense dread and opaque darkness through blistering riffs, punishing blast-beats and relentless vocal lines. However, even in its darkest and most desperate moments, a sliver of hope shines through the song with ethereal vocals and epic chords. As many of our long-time friends and fans know, resolve in the face of overwhelming darkness is a huge theme throughout our music, and we hope the song and video showcase that.”
“Befallen” is the third video from VINTERSEA’s sophomore release (and M-Theory Audio debut), “Illuminated,” which was released in September on CD, digital and limited-edition blue/white vinyl. The album was engineered and mixed by Gabe Johnston (Idle Hands) and mastered by Troy Glessner (Devin Townsend, Intervals), while the cover artwork was designed by Xenoyr of Australia’s Ne Obliviscaris. Visit for additional streaming and webshop links.
VINTERSEA – whose riveting mix of prog, black, death and post-metal has earned comparisons to forward-thinking acts such as Agalloch and Enslaved – first made waves via their self-released 2017 debut, “The Gravity Of Fall.” Recorded by Justin Phelps (The Mars Volta, Joe Satriani) and mixed by Evan Sammons (Last Chance To Reason), the album was hailed by No Clean Singing as “dynamic and genre-bending.” The group earned additional praise for its dynamic live performances alongside artists such as Arkona, The Ocean and Sirenia.
More recently, VINTERSEA has supported Ne Obliviscaris, Jinjer, The Browning and Sumo Cyco. The group’s next live performance will take place at Dante’s in Portland on April 10. The band is also slated to play alongside Amaranthe on Sept. 13.

Tickets are on sale HERE. Justin Hawkins shares, “North America! We come to you again, humble in our mission but resolute in our purpose. Join with us in the benediction of ROCK, as we bring our Easter is Cancelled World Tour to your spume-flecked shores. We canceled Easter and now we are going to cancel your souls – let’s reboot together in the epiphany that only 150% pure adrenalin can bring. You are me, I am you, and music is the river that will carry us to our destiny. P.S. concert tickets available at extremely reasonable prices from all usual outlets.”Easter Is Cancelled became The Darkness’ fourth Top 10 Album in the UK, it topped the iTunes Rock Chart, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Current Hard Rock chart and #39 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart, and has garnered wide critical acclaim. Kerrang! declares, “For those who like their rock adventurous, Easter may be canceled, but Christmas has come early.” Classic Rock Magazine raves, “Every track here is whip-smart and shout-it-out hooky.“ The Telegraph calls it “A record of ballsy energetic rock,” Clash Magazine gushes it’s “A lavish, complex, ambitious record,” and The Music announces, “Easter Is Cancelled is a high energy salute to everything rock.” Metal Insider effuses, “From first listen, you’re hoisted into sing-along power-pop melodies and foot-stomping rock riffs that easily suck you in. You can feel these songs in your soul and they feel good.” Smells Like Infinite Sadness praises, “Rock and Roll will never die as long as The Darkness are standing. They are the heroes we need, yet don’t deserve. Easter is Cancelled is a welcome reminder of their peerless musical powers.” Easter Is Cancelled is a mini-rock opera examining the role of the musician in the barbarous culture of the world today. At the core of the tale is love, loss and heartbreak, where redemption is ultimately found in the brotherhood of band friendship and the power of the guitar. The album boasts new single and the video for “In Another Life” that portrays Justin Hawkins banished to hell only to be redeemed by the power of rock pulsating through his guardian angel bandmates and a beautiful archangel. “Rock And Roll Deserves To Die” sees the band hailing the death of rock and roll in an epic five-minute masterpiece featuring monumental riffs, thunderous bass and almighty drums, “Heart Explodes” is a rock aria that finds The Darkness baring all in a multitude of emotions reflecting the hardships, struggles and changing relationships of life. “How Can I Lose Your Love” is a huge rock anthem steeped in emotion, featuring space-age synths, a gigantic chorus with beautiful hands-in-the-air moments, and almighty guitar solos, while title track “Easter Is Cancelled” encapsulates the explosive majesty of the record. Easter Is Cancelled Tour – North American Dates:4/13    Edmonton, AB @Union Hall4/14    Calgary, AB @The Palace Theater4/15    Vancouver, BC @Vogue Theatre4/17    Portland, OR @Wonder Ballroom4/18    Seattle, WA @Showbox4/21    San Francisco, CA @The Regency Ballroom4/22    Los Angeles, CA @The Novo4/24    San Diego, CA @The Observatory – North Park4/25    Tempe, AZ @Marquee Theatre4/28    Houston, TX @The Studio at Warehouse Live4/29    Dallas, TX @Granada Theater5/1      Concord, SC @Epicenter Festival*5/2      Atlanta, GA @Shaky Knees Festival*5/3      Birmingham, AL @Saturn5/5      Nashville, TN @Cannery Ballroom5/6      New Orleans, LA @Republic 5/8      Fort Lauderdale, FL @Culture Room5/9      Daytona Beach, FL @Welcome To Rockville*5/11    Boston, MA @Royale5/12    Philadelphia, PA @Union Transfer5/13    New York, NY @Webster Hall5/15    Pittsburgh, PA @Rex Theater5/16    Columbus, OH @Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival*5/17    Detroit, MI @Majestic Theatre5/19    Minneapolis, MN @Skyway Theatre5/20    Kansas City, MO @Truman5/22    St. Louis, MO @The Ready Room5/23    Chicago, IL @Park West*Festival dates, not headlining shows

REVIEW: The Nothing Happens Tour at Mr. Smalls Theatre

Words and photos: Abigail McNatt

Following the release of their debut album, Nothing Happens in 2019, Wallows hit the road to celebrate their album’s success. On February 26th, the tour came to Mr. Smalls Theatre, just on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. As an opener, they brought along Penelope Isles from the UK.
Penelope Isles could be described as Indie pop, but with a more mellow and chill vibe thrown in. For an opener, I noticed a lot of people in the audience singing along to every word. That’s not something you see too often with opening bands. The audience was singing along as well as jamming as Penelope Isles incorporated their jam sequences to their songs which were a lot of fun and entertaining to watch! I really loved seeing Lily Wolter, the lead vocalist, and the energy and passion she put into her craft. Isles was the perfect opening act to bring in the crowd for the headliner.
Wallows came on about a half-hour later. The show was completely sold out and the venue was packed. The crowd went wild as soon as frontman, Dylan Minnette, came out on stage. They started with “Do Not Wait”, the closing song on their album, Nothing Happens. Throughout their set, they played a multitude of songs from the album such as “Scrawny”, “I’m Full”, and “Sidelines”. For a chill indie band, they really bring the heat to their performances. They have a sound that is smooth but also high energy. I noticed during one of their more high energy ones, a few people tried to crowd surf.. which did not last long. As I made my way through the crowd, I saw the awe in the audience member’s eyes as they all sang along to every word. Another one of their popular songs, which made the setlist, was “Sun Tan“, which has extreme summer vibes all throughout, which was a breath of fresh air with all the rain and low temperatures outside. They ended the night with an encore of their most popular songs, both off of the new album; “Treacherous Doctor” and “Are You Bored Yet?”. In “Are You Bored Yet?”, there is a feature from Clairo, which the audience sang in full, and the band just listened. Such a cool moment. They ended the night with a bang, surely leaving the crowd completely satisfied and already yearning for another show.
I’d never seen Wallows but I highly enjoyed their performance. They were extremely fun to watch on stage and they really enjoy what they do and the music they play.
Catch them on one of the remaining dates of the Nothing Happens Tour this year.

In week one of their release, By and By entered the Billboard Top 200, was the #1 Heatseeker#1 on the New Artist Alternative Albums, made top 5 vinyl album sales for the week and entered the Alternative and Emerging Artist charts. They even collaborated with Huckberry on a clothing collection. Plus, their shows have been selling out like crazy. Caamp’s genuine connection with their fans and dedication to their home state of Ohio has created a strong foundation. ZZ Ward coming to Mr Smalls Theatre 3/17

ZZ Ward says of her new record Break Her Heart, “These new songs got me through some very personal and challenging situations in my life by allowing me to reach a place of empowerment. At first, these experiences of heartbreak, betrayal and devastation felt very close to me, only to realize in retrospect that the root of these emotions went much deeper than I originally understood. Whether it was an ex-lover that I never felt good enough for or knowing I had to find the giant inside of myself to overcome feelings of self-doubt, writing these songs helped me get to a place of acceptance. Some of the deeper themes throughout these songs are questioning social and gender norms and how those unwritten and traditional expectations have affected and continue to affect me in my own life”.

Petrol Girls released their critically acclaimed LP Cut & Stitch last year to love from NPR – who premiered it with a First Listen and noted “These are songs that rip through time, across borders and into psyches with feminist post-hardcore that engages as it rampages” – and The New York Times who called single “Big Mouth” “a paean to speaking up and breaking out.” To accompany the new album, lead-singer Ren Aldridge wrote a book that expands on the idea behind Cut & Stitch and was released via Rough Trade.  Ren previously contributed an essay about sexual violence in the punk community for 404ink’s Nasty Women, and she contributed illustrations to a new documentary titled So, Which Band Does Your Boyfriend Play In of which she was an inspiration for. Metallica: A Note from James

Dear Metallica Family,

It pains me to write this, but I have to let all of you know that I cannot make it to Sonic Temple in Columbus and Louder Than Life in Louisville this year. As part of my continuing effort to get and stay healthy, I have critical recovery events on those weekends that cannot be moved. I apologize to all of our fans who have bought tickets for these festivals. We are working with the festival promoters to provide for refunds or exchanges. My intent with this statement is saying “I apologize” to each one of you. The reality is that I have not prioritized my health in the past year of touring and I now know that my mental health comes first. That might sound like a no-brainer for most of you but I didn’t want to let the Metallica team/family down and, I alone, completely compromised myself.

Looking on the brighter side, my therapy is going well. It was absolutely necessary for me to look after my mental, physical, and spiritual health.

I want to stress that the band will play all other announced 2020 shows.

I am looking forward to getting back to playing and seeing all our great South American fans in April. And, of course, playing the Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome to Rockville in Daytona and Aftershock in Sacramento. We will still play two unique sets at each of these festivals.

Beyond 2020, I am optimistic about the blessings I have been given and what the future brings. I appreciate all the great prayers and support from everyone since I went into rehab last September. Like the moth into the flame, being human in this career has its huge challenges and can be difficult. Your understanding helps the healing.

– James

Timmon recently moved to New York City and hopes to gain recognition with her debut single both at home and across the water.

‘Sweet Love’ is the debut single of Irish pop/soul singer-songwriter, Rosie Timmon, and it is proof positive of her massive potential. ‘Sweet Love’ is an upbeat dance-pop track based on a long-distance relationship. Written from the perspective of someone in love and sure of what they want, the song explores a love so sweet and strong it’s worth waiting “a year or two” for.

Rosie’s next project is a collaboration with Sydney born house producer James Rubiolo on a song called “How You Make Me Love” which will be released on March 8th. She is also set to perform on “The Real Radio Show 24/7 Affiliate of Fox News Radio” at their Singer-Songwriter Showcase at Aloft Hotel in Queens NY on March 14th at 6 pm. She will be performing an acoustic version of “Sweet Love” as well as a new song she just wrote called “Jessie’s Song” along with an interview.

Rosie is working with a female Irish producer Aisling Jarvis on a new project as well. Together, they want to bring more diversity and female musicians to the electronic-house pop dance scene. Having recently moved to New York this past November, Rosie is trying to settle in and find her feet as well as find musicians to work with for live sets. Recently she linked up with a NY guitarist James Gardner to work on old and new songs to start gigging around the New York Music Scene.

INTRONAUT will be touring in support of their forthcoming new full-length, Fluid Existential Inversions, set for release February 28th via Metal Blade Records. It’s been a five-year gap since 2015’s The Direction Of Last Things, the longest between any two INTRONAUT records, but with good reason. “Some of this music was written within a week of the last record being released, and we originally wanted to get into the studio to make this album back in early 2017, but I think the band was kind of burnt out,” explains guitarist/vocalist Sacha Dunable, “and I personally was definitely burnt out, and we decided to take a year off before committing to a new album and the touring stuff that comes with it. After a little time off, I kept writing on my own and I realized I love making this music whether we’re an active band or not.

A change in the unit’s ranks set things back another year, but soon enough, they were back on track. The addition of drummer Alex Rüdinger (The FacelessWhitechapel) to the INTRONAUT lineup definitely played a key part in how the record came together, Dunable praising his obsessive work ethic and a, “dedication to his craft like I’ve never seen before.” With all the players in place, it was a case of getting down to work and creating the ultimate INTRONAUT album – which features keyboards for the first time in the band’s history.

When it came time to record Fluid Existential InversionsINTRONAUT once again teamed up with producer Josh Newell and spent a month locked in the studio with him. They invited previous collaborator Ben Sharp – AKA Cloudkicker – to be a part of the process, penning one of the main riffs of closer “Sour Everythings” and playing some guitar on both that track and “The Cull”. When it came to mixing the record, the band reached out to Kurt Ballou (ConvergeHigh On Fire), resulting in a unique finished product that stands apart from their catalogue.

Former Judas Priest Guitarist K.K DOWNING Announces Details on His New Band

K.K Downing, founding member of Judas Priest, today announces the name of his new band KK’s PRIEST. This all new band features some very familiar faces. With Downing on guitar, KK’s PRIEST features ex-Judas Priest members Tim “Ripper” Owens on vocals, who fronted the band for eight years and recorded two studio albums, Jugulator, featuring the GRAMMY® nominted track “Bullet Train,” and Demolition, plus two live albums, and Les Binks who was the drummer on the studio albums Stained Class and Killing Machine and the live album Unleashed in the East. They are joined by Tony Newton (Voodoo Six) on bass, and A.J. Mills (Hostile) on guitar. With the line-up complete, KK’s PRIEST is hard at work in the studio creating the band’s debut album which will be released globally by Explorer1 Music Group as a part of the partnership with K.K Downing signed early 2020. More details to come.

KK’s PRIEST is represented exclusively by Andy Gould for Explorer1, with Jim Morewood handling the band’s global bookings outside the U.S. for the K2 Agency. Extensive touring and festival dates are already being planned with KK’s PRIEST taking to stages around the world to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Judas Priest and K.K Downing’s career as a founding member. The band will deliver everything that fans would expect of Downing and his ability to deliver up everything that is Priest including newly written metal masterpieces.

“Forging ahead with KK’s PRIEST was not only inevitable, but was essential for me to perform and deliver everything that is expected from me and KK’s PRIEST” says K.K Downing. “Due to the massive demand and overwhelming support from fans around the world, I feel this is where I belong, and a set combining the true, classic songs and sound of Priest, together with great, newly forged metal tracks, is what fans can expect when KK’s PRIEST takes to stages around the world.”

Last summer K.K Downing made his first public appearance in almost 10 years, performing classic Judas Priest cuts at the Bloodstock Open Air Festival in the U.K. In November K.K Downing called on Tim “Ripper” Owens and Les Binks for a surprise, one-off performance, featuring Hostile’s A.J. Mills on guitar and David Ellefson from Megadeth on bass. The band performed a blistering set of classic Judas Priest songs as well as deep album cuts that have never been performed live. With an overwhelming response and the instant chemistry Downing, Owens and Binks shared on stage, KK’s PRIEST was born.

K.K Downing’s genre-defining guitar style helped establish Judas Priest‘s iconic sound and helped propelled them to one of the top Heavy Metal bands of all-time, earning numerous accolades including a GRAMMY® in 2010 for “Best Metal Performance,” a total of five GRAMMY® nominations and multi-platinum and gold releases.
