Serpentine Dominion’s Adam Dutkiewicz launches guitar play-through for new track, “On the Brink of Devastation”

Serpentine Dominion‘s Adam Dutkiewicz launches guitar play-through for new track, “On the Brink of Devastation”

Imagine Killswitch Engage at their heaviest, with the immediately recognizable guitar playing of Adam Dutkiewicz, the precision drumming of former The Black Dahlia Murder member Shannon Lucas, and the legendary death metal growl of Cannibal Corpse‘s George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher – the result is Serpentine Dominion. After 7 years in the making, this highly anticipated project will finally be releasing their self-titled debut on October 28th via Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the album, fans can check out a guitar play-through by Adam Dutkiewicz for the new track, “On the Brink of Devastation”, now: youtube.com | vimeo.com

The first single, “The Vengeance in Me”, can be heard at: metalblade.com/serpentinedominion – where Serpentine Dominion can also be pre-ordered in the following formats:

–CD
–180g black vinyl
–olive-green marbled vinyl (limited to 300 copies!)

The origins of Serpentine Dominioncan be traced back to 2009’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which boasted a line-up that includedKillswitch Engage, Cannibal Corpse, and The Black Dahlia Murder. During that fateful summer, Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz made a proposition to Cannibal Corpse vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher: “George, I want to write you a record.” On the Mayhem Fest tour, Shannon Lucas, who performed with The Black Dahlia Murder through 2012, was tapped to record drums on the album. Between 2009 and 2016,Cannibal Corpse and Killswitch Engage released three albums each, so scheduling time to work on Serpentine Dominion was no easy feat – but when their rigorous schedules allowed, Serpentine Dominion began to come together, with Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach penning the lyrics, which touch on corruption within the government, religion, big business, and other timely issues. Ultimately, though, this debut is a pure passion project; it was written and recorded simply for why musicians get into music in the first place: fun.

Whitechapel recently completed an extensive trek across the USA on the annual Warped Tour, touring in support of their sixth full-length, Mark of the Blade. Hailed as “an exciting milestone” (Alt Press), Mark of the Blade was produced by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse) and sees Whitechapel redefine who they are and what they are capable of with the resulting 11 tracks. Kicking off with “The Void” – which has a Slayer-esque ferocity that is perfectly suited to the band’s three-guitar attack – the songs that follow all leave a distinct impression, and by the time the rich, dark melodies on “Decennium” bring the record to a close, it’s impossible to deny the emotional weight brought to bear. Alex Wade explains, “At this point in our career and as we grow older, we are taking a more open-minded approach to creating our music, allowing what we think sounds good to evolve naturally, rather than to just write what is expected of us.”

To purchase Mark of the Blade in various formats, please visit:metalblade.com/whitechapel – where the video for the latest single, “Elitist Ones”, can also be viewed.

Volbeat Seals The Deal and Boogies with Killswitch Engage in Pittsburgh

The States have been fortunate as of late, having Danish “metalbilly” band Volbeat tour here with some stalwart bands.  Last time around it was Anthrax and Crobot and the current tour is with Killswitch Engage and Black Wizard.  Volbeat’s current line-up consists of vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen, guitarist Rob Caggiano, drummer Jon Larsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen and they have a rep for bringing the goods.  Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie was released worldwide on June 3 and their sixth record is one of their strongest starting off with singles, “The Devil’s Bleeding Crown” and “For Evigt” (Forever) or the English version”The Bliss”.  Pittsburgh’s show at Stage AE was exceptional and there was a great blend of old and new material to entertain fans (see set below). Poulsen was a commanding presence and the acquisition of Anthrax’s Caggiano is certainly the coup of the band’s history.  The new record picks up where  Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies left off and their performance of the new tunes was spot on.

Metalcore act Killswitch Engage returned to Pittsburgh as well after a few years of absence again with lead singer Jesse Leach in tow.  No offense to Howard Jones (in between singer of KSE), but Leach’s return to the fold has made them more entertaining than ever.  Due to the intense heat, the stage antics of Adam Jonathan Dutkiewicz were a bit more subdued than usual, but the intensity was amped to replace the jumping around.  KSE is firing on all cylinders right now and seems to be even more back in the groove than ever before, making them a band to truly watch rise in popularity (if that’s possible).

Vancouver’s Black Wizard opened and brought their brand of doom-stoner metal to the masses.  These guys are definitely onto something as they have a great sound, look, and cool throwback chops.  You can check them out here http://www.blackwizard.org/.

Killswitch Engage Disarm Pittsburgh at Stage AE

If it was your first time at a Killswitch Engage show you might think that guitarist Adam Jonathan Dutkiewicz was well, a bit “touched”.  He is a one man force to be reckoned with, but not what one would typically expect at a metal show, a guy who is often described as ‘liking to take the piss out of things’, a man with a sense of humor.   This is a guy who is prone to taking his guitar off to do mid song sprints back and forth the stage for?  I’m not sure, but it was great (see pix below).  In other words, your eyes lock onto him all the time.  From the moment that the Rocky theme song “Survivor” began the set and Dutkiewicz ran out onto the stage screaming and yelling like a teenage girl at a One Direction show, a Killswitch virgin knew this was going to be different than anything they had ever experienced before and…hilarious.

Back with original vocalist Jesse Leach and sounding incredibly powerful and clean at the same time, Killswitch Engage blitzed right into A Bid Farewell from The End of Heartache.  This of course is not the first time Pittsburgh has been treated to KE back with Jesse, many of the same fans witnessed the comeback at  Metal Hammer‘s “Trespass America Festival” at Stage AE as well a few summers back.  But this was an entirely different vibe, and an inside show that was beyond packed and completely sold out.  The extreme metalcore/hardcore continued with highlights such as “The New Awakening” and “Turning Point” from new effort Disarm the Descent,  “Rose of Sharyn” and “The End of Heartache” from The End of Heartache, and “My Last Serenade” and “In The Unblind” from Alive or Just Breathing.

What makes Killswitch special an so endearing to fans seems to be the versatility within their songs and between their material.  But with that, their live show is proof positive that their career has lasted and expanded the way that it has for good reason.  Besides the enigmatic performances of Jesse and Adam, Mike D’Antonio (bass), Joel Stoetzel (guitar), and Justin Foley (drums) never stop moving and playing to the crowd making them feel one with the band and part of the performance.  This was a true double act with Lamb of God and full set to appease the wall to wall packed in audience who was at a fever pitch during the entire bit from start to finish.  Some left scarred, some left shocked, and some left sapped of all energy, but all left bigger fans of Killswitch Engage.

These veterans of the Boston metal scene play a raw brand of metallic hardcore that recaptures the energy of their old school hardcore roots infused with all they have learned and experienced as musicians over the past decade. Produced by legendary hardcore guru Dean Baltulonis who has helmed albums for Sick Of It All, Agnostic Front, Madball and Most Precious Blood, these new songs are short blasts of energy and intensity built on thrash metal rhythms and chugging guitar riffs.
“Its a swift 30-minute kick to the nuts. No fucking around and
right to the point.” – Brian Fair (Shadows Fall / DRV Vocalist)
You say you like circle pits? You say you like Punk and Hardcore? You say you hate your parents? Well this is the band for you! Pissed off and abrasive, Death Ray Vision is dedicated to that old skool passion and aggression you still crave. If you’re a fan of Cro-Mags, Leeway, Suicidal Tendencies or Bad Brains, then look no further. Without fail, Death Ray Vision delivers uppercuts straight to your gullet, then repeatedly peppers your forehead with sledgehammer fists. That’s right, the beatings are swift and pummeling on this record, with 2 minute anthems of ruckus chaos, party jams. The perfect soundtrack to set the city a blaze, or discreetly create a mosh pit in your bedroom. Fans can hear a sample of the new song “Barfly” on the Bullet Tooth Summer 2013 Video Update!
“Break out your boom box and get ready to shred that mini ramp kids … The Energizer Bunny
has nothing on Death Ray Vision.” – Mike D (Killswitch Engage / DRV Bassist)

Their debut 5 song EP “Get Lost Or Get Dead” was released on Bullet Tooth in 7″ Vinyl, Digipack CD, and digital download formats onMay 14, 2013.  Buy the Digipack CD, 7″ Vinyl, and Tee Shirts at MerchNow, download at iTunesAmazon, or Emusic, and stream at Spotify and Rdio. The first song “Shattered Frames” can be streamed at YouTube!
According to vocalist Brian Fair, “When Mike and I first met, we went to see Leeway and Breakdown play in Boston.  My love for raw, metallic hardcore began that day and the energy and insanity in that club is something that has stayed with me forever.”
After breaking their silence onstage at local Boston hardcore shows, Death Ray Vision entered Mad Oak Studio in MA with producer Benny Grotto to record their debut EP “Get Lost Or Get Dead”.  The recording, which the band self released, captured the raw energy and emotion of the band combined with a modern production, seamlessly bridging the gap between the past and future.  The sessions were the creative spark that inspired the band to continue writing and see how far they could push their sound.
“We started the band to have fun, there is really no other reason to do Death Ray Vision,” states bassist Mike D.  “Apparently we were having so much fun when we started writing for the 1st EP that we just kept writing and writing. All of a sudden, we had a crap load of tunes.”
While gathering material for a full length release, Death Ray Vision caught the attention of Bullet Tooth, a label that has a staff with very similar backgrounds and history in the heavy music scene as the band.  Having a label that embraces the same DIY ethic as the band was a necessity. Joining forces with Bullet Tooth was the perfect way for Death Ray Vision to reach a wider audience without having to sacrifice the independent spirit of the band.
Josh Grabelle and Bullet Tooth have the capacity to get our record out to more people then we can reach on our own,” explains Mike D. “It also doesn’t hurt that he is an old friend and is really excited about DRV. What more could you want?”
Grabelle is as enthusiastic about the signing as the band is. He’s known the members for years, almost signing Killswitch Engage in 2000. “I’m a huge fan of Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, and Overcast,” he said. “I first met Brian Fair in 1995 at an Overcast show in Erie, PA. I’ve been friends with Mike D for years as well.  Mike D told me he had started a new band and I already knew it was gonna be awesome, and it was! I was honored they thought of me and Bullet Tooth and I know we will knock it out of the park together.” The exclusive signing announcement and DRV interview is located at MetalInsider.com.
Death Ray Vision recalls the insanity of the old hardcore days while remaining focused on destroying the future and is currently the #1 Metal Band on Music Choice!

HUNTRESS Wraps Up North American Tour With Danzig Prepares For Global Domination with Lamb of God

HUNTRESS has kicked off yet another year of relentless touring, following the release of their critically acclaimed album Starbound Beast.  After an amazing run on this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, HUNTRESS has just wrapped up their tour with the legendary Glenn Danzig for his 25th Anniversary tour with Misfits guitarist Doyle.

Vocalist Jill Janus had this to say about her time on the road with Glenn Danzig:

“Touring with Danzig has been surreal. As an angsty teenage girl, I used to dream that one day I would duet with Glenn Danzig. Being chosen to tour with him was already mind blowing, but I also had the honor of singing “Skulls” with him in St. Paul, MN! I was watching the show from side stage. Doyle had just played a couple Misfits songs with the band. Then I see Glenn turn and ask if I’d like to join him for a duet! Performing with two of my idols was stellar. This has been a killer experience for HUNTRESS, watching Glenn Danzig nightly from the wings, he has mastered his craft and we’ve learned a lot from him on this short run. He’s also hilarious, his sense of humor and attitude have made our time with him so much more incredible! Hail Danzig!”

After a short break this September, HUNTRESS will be back on the road with heavy metal heavyweights Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, and Testament!  The tour kicks off October 22ndin Toronto, ON, and runs through November 26th in Silver Spring, MD.  It has also been confirmed that Lamb of God will be taking HUNTRESS to Europe and the UK in early 2014.  A complete list of dates can be found below.

HUNTRESS is proud to present their video for the song “Zenith”.  Bloody-Disgusting.com calls it “A Sci-Fi Horror Psychedelic Masterpiece!” The spectacular video was directed by Phil Mucci, whose video for HIGH ON FIRE‘s “Fertile Green” was named best video of 2012 by Revolver. Check out the “Zenith” video HERE.

Starbound Beast, is out now on Napalm Records. The album is available for purchase oniTunesAmazon, and in Best Buy stores in the US.

HUNTRESS was spawned from the preternatural union of Jill Janus with underground metal bands Professor and Dark Black. They thrive on thundering drums, heavy riffs, spectral solos and catchy choruses that come from the band’s musical concoction of occult science and bong rips. HUNTRESS remains true to the roots of melodic heavy metal with a penchant for thrash, death and black metal.

Death Ray Vision Fall Tour w/ Special Guests Sworn Enemy & Acaro

Current members of Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall and ex members of Overcast and Cannae have combined forces in the project Death Ray Vision and their debut 12 song album “We Ain’t Leavin’ Till You’re Bleedin’” will be released on Bullet Tooth on September 10, 2013.  Kicking off on September 13 the band will play select East Coast dates with Sworn Enemy and Acaro on the “Raging Semi-Tour”. The first date to be announced is September 14 at The Palladium in Worcester, MA. More dates to be announced!
Death Ray Vision “We Ain’t Leavin’ Till You’re Bleedin’” Track List:
01. We Ain’t Leavin’ Till You’re Bleedin’
02. Over My Dead Body
03. Barfly
04. Condemned When You Were Born
05. Fuck Compromise
06. Live Fast… Never Die
07. Break Every Chain
08. This Is Progress
09. Choke
10. Your Shallow Grave
11. False Prophet
12. A Forest (Of Kegs)
DeathRayVision-Tour-2013
Their debut 5 song EP “Get Lost Or Get Dead” was released on Bullet Tooth in 7″ Vinyl, Digipack CD, and digital download formats on May 14, 2013.

LAMB OF GOD Partners with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE for North American Tour…Pittsburgh Stage AE Nov. 25

Testament and Huntress to Support

 8389_lamb-of-god

Long-time friends LAMB OF GOD and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have joined forces for what will undoubtedly be one of the essential “can’t miss” tours of the fall of 2013.  The tour launches October 22 in Toronto and canvases much of the U.S and Canada.  The two bands are a dominant live pairing, and will combine for 28 North American shows in total.  Support for all shows except Los Angeles will be provided by thrash legends Testament, with Huntress opening all shows.

LAMB OF GOD will end the North American portion of the Resolution record cycle with this tour.  It will include a coast to coast visit to all major Canadian cities which will be LAMB OF GOD’s first visit to Canada on this cycle other than a festival play in June in Montebello and a show in Toronto in January 2012.  In the last year, both Ashes of the Wake and Sacrament have been certified gold in Canada.  LAMB OF GOD will finish the Resolution cycle completely with a visit to Europe and South Africa in January 2014. Details on that tour will be released late August.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE released their sixth album Disarm the Descent this April, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200; at No. 1 on Hard Rock Chart; and at No. 1 on the Rock Chart. It marked the first album with frontman Jesse Leach at the vocal helm since 2002’s now-classic Alive or Just Breathing.  The album has been warmly embraced and well-received by both fans and the media, as it has just crossed the 100,000-sold mark in only three months of release.  Having just wrapped a highly successful U.S summer headline tour, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE look to continue their Disarm the Descent record cycle with this fall trek.

Both LAMB OF GOD and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have been wanting to hit the road together for quite some time now and are both excited to finally get the chance.  They have also made sure to keep the ticket prices as low as possible so that all of their fans can come out and have a good time with them on this tour.

Thy Will Be Done – NEW EP

On Thy Will Be Done’s “Thrash and Burn” tour in the summer of 2009 – where they warmed up the stage for Emmure and Devildriver – I personally had the pleasure of meeting J Costa (vocals) briefly in DC. They made a huge impression in their entrance on a bill filled with nothing but heavy as hell artists, which is something I didn’t forget about them. Although this was more than 3 years ago, I remember Costa as a super down to earth guy simplifying what it was like to go on tour in Japan with Killswitch Engage, and couldn’t believe that it was all real. I remember a statement parallel to “waking up and seeing Mount Fuji seemed like a hallucination.” Well, here they are nearly 3 years later on their new EP sounding even bigger and better than I remember the first time around. True artists are always surprised at success – and it’s nothing less than humbling to see them providing more of their work after their initial presence to the scene.

The first track “Liturgy” embodies a mix of painstaking vocals that seem to engage a sinister curiosity for the rest of the album. Abruptly ending and transitioning into a barrage of hardcore blast beats while blending a slower, southern style variety, entwining a wicked solo in the second track “Ways of Old.” The third track “The Great Rebuilding” embodies an interesting crescendo before busting out a rhythmic “take the power back” sort-of angst, rightfully displayed by the song-title. “You The Apathy Divine” is arguably the most powerful track on the EP. The classic slow and grueling commencement leads one to believe a lethal slew of power riffs and maybe even a malevolent breakdown will follow. Your hypothesis is confirmed.

Thy Will Be Done’s “The Temple” seems to infuse just enough harsh, yet tenacious vocals that appear as if Costa has embodied the sound of despondency and anguish through the strength of his delivery. I won’t be the first to admit that this is something that not many artists can accomplish, without sounding inauthentic. The vocals are extremely real and vivid in tonality. The rest of the members seem to follow suit while still somehow adding to the vulnerable context of some of the vocals, specifically in the last track “Epiphany,” to give the album an overall wrenchingly emotional resonance.

The album champions a largely elaborative technique. This EP is generally coarser with distortion, yet more clean and versatile than some of their previous work “In Ancient of Days,” of 2009, or their 2007 debut album “Was And Is To Come.” Sparing double bass increases the heaviness and brisk style, while maintaining their original, old school sludge sound. A large number of emerging artists, similar in denomination and timing of inception to the scene in this mix of genres haven’t quite found a balance between too much of a signature technique as a compilation of styles, and not enough (mostly the former being the case for most). Let’s all be honest here for a minute – most of us really don’t want to hear nothing but constant chaos and an overload of what I like to refer to as, “Castle” riffs totally void of substance that gives metal a clumsy image. Its excellent to see these guys integrate Thrash in a way that really works for them. The finality of the album “Epiphany,” is simultaneously destructive and agonizing in a sense that’s nearly pleading. A terrifically painful way of finalizing the album that leaves you at an impasse – wondering what will be next from them? As the beginning left us wanting more, the summation parallels.

ELYSION FIELDS sign with Innerstrength Records

Innerstrength Records is pleased to announce the latest addition to its already impressive stable of artists: Chicago metal road warriors ELYSION FIELDS, whose debut full-length album New Beginnings is slated for release on February 12, 2013.

As metal fans with an eye on the underground already know, ELYSION FIELDS have spent the past few years pummeling the live scene as one of the genre’s worst-kept secrets, making their presence known on stages alongside marquee names like AUGUST BURNS RED, MYCHILDREN MYBRIDE, WE CAME AS ROMANS, MISERY INDEX and more. The band increased its profile by storming SXSW, where it played four showcases including the main stage at the heralded Full Metal Texas party.

On a clear trajectory as a burgeoning metal powerhouse, ELYSION FIELDS are taking the next logical step by launching a partnership with Innerstrength for the release of New Beginnings.

“We are very excited to be a part of the Innerstrength family. Since the beginning they have been very transparent about everything, and that is how business with a label should be done,” says vocalist Chris Fernandez.

“Building a team around your band is an integral part to being successful,” adds guitarist and vocalist Josh Woods. “So many artists are quick to sign a contract with a label that doesn’t even market their tours or promote their artists. Jason at Innerstrength was able to do just that while at the same time remaining open to what we want to do in regards to moving forward with both music creation and all business aspects.”

Followers of the band already revere ELYSION FIELDS for its uncompromising, honest take on savage metal music and its uncannily seasoned-sounding approach to songwriting that appeals to fans of AUGUST BURNS RED, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and AS I LAY DYING while carving out a niche entirely its own. Its a signature sound the band has been trotting out in a series of often surprising cover songs, including its most recent release, a take on PSY’s “Gangnam Style” that has racked up more than 43,000 views in six weeks.

On New Beginnings, ELYSION FIELDS takes that sound in bold new directions in the first of what is sure to be many landmark moments in the career of this exciting young band.

“With this album, we really wanted to touch on many different aspects of not only metal, but music in general, that we could. We use lots of guitar solos, breakdowns, and odd time signatures that are all staples of classic metal, but we also take pride in our carefully crafted choruses and melodic sections that really round out the songs,” says guitarist Scott Georgeson.

“We are all extremely proud of the music that we have put together on New Beginnings, and we are happy to be releasing this record with Innerstrength,” Fernandez adds. “This is just another dream come true for us and definitely is a new beginning for the band.”

Catch ELYSION FIELDS on tour throughout the eastern U.S. with THE PARAMEDIC (Bullet Tooth Records) starting October 26. Following that, the band will embark on a run with It Lies Within (Luxor), culminating with a performance at OutRage Festival in Tyler, TX alongside THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS, HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS and many more.

SEMINAR DETAILS:
The two-day seminar and workshop will focus on portrait work with musicians and will cover the entire process—from setting up the photo shoot, scouting locations, posing, different types of lighting and lighting equipment for different situations, shooting endorsements, promotional images, CD layouts, and magazine layouts, to walking attendees through the process of what to do post-shoot, invoicing, getting repeat business, and even how to price yourself. Many other business aspects of being a professional photographer within the music industry will be discussed.

The first day will be the official seminar day, where all of the above is taught in the morning, as well as a lightroom and photoshop post processing tutorial. BATTLECROSS (TRESPASS AMERICA FESTIVAL) @ STAGE AE 8/14

BATTLECROSS ON TOUR WITH FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, TRIVIUM, POP EVIL, EMMURE AND GOD FORBID
With the mindset to create a sonic metal assault unlike any other, childhood friends, Tony Asta and Hiran Deraniyagala, set forth on the path to shred and abandoned the idea of following any trends. The guitar slinging duo brought an infused style of old school metal with dark elements of thrash and death metal and destined to find the right members.

Struggling for years to find reliable and dedicated members, the true formation of BATTLECROSS was born in 2007 when Drummer Mike Kreger responded a want ad, and added a machine-like, brutal precision on the drums, and proved to be just the right match for Tony and Hiran’s mature and technical style of thrash. Bringing a whole new level of musicianship and intensity with his quick finger picking and tasty solos, Bassist Don Slater joined the group, bringing a skill and technique that impresses even the most prolific bassists. The thrash metal band was finally complete when popular area vocalist, Kyle “Gumby” Gunther joined the band. Known for his command of the stage and alternating deep growls with high pitched screams, Gumby punishes the audience and inspires pits of rage.

Together, the five-piece create an unforgettable and energetic live show that decimates their audience with raw energy and persistence, that has earned a style of their own: “Blue Collar Thrash Metal”, in reference to the hard-working, ‘never give up’ attitude of those who hail from the Motor City.

This reputation for technical talent, humility and kick ass live shows resonated throughout the regional metal scene and BATTLECROSS soon became a fan and band favorite. Sharing the stage with the likes of Dying Fetus, GWAR, Devil Driver, The Absence, Vital Remains, The Faceless and Metal Fests throughout the Midwest, BATTLECROSS began to bang heads nationally with a nod from MySpace-A Place for Metal’s 2008 ‘Best Unsigned Metal Band’ contest, for being ‘Metal Sucks’ worthy, Mike Kreger’s crowning as Sickdrummer.com & Zildjian’s ‘Sickest Dirt Fest Drummer’ and featured on local, national and global metal radio.

…and after years of persistence and dedication, BATTLECROSS is celebrating their hard work and prolific future by signing with Metal Blade Records.

“We are extremely honored to join such a respected label and humbled by their belief in our music. We’re stoked to be part of a label that has a great roster of bands we all admire and respect!” says Tony. Hiran adds, “We understand the hard work and pavement pounding that is required of a Metal Blade band and we are going to work our asses’ off to show the world what we’re about”

Incorporating many elements of extreme thrash, death and tech metal, creating a precise blend of fist pumping brutality, intensity, and drive, BATTLECROSS satisfies both the tech-metal guru and the old-school die hard alike.

The band’s Metal Blade debut is set to release August 2nd, 2011, followed by a tour that will bring a face melting thrash metal assault. The band’s Metal Blade debut was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Random Awesome Recording Studio in Bay City, MI and produced by BATTLECROSS and Josh Schroeder.

Metal Blade debut, full-length album out August 2, 2011 (North America)

Battlecross Join Trespass America Festival

20120510-101633.jpg

Detroit, MI thrashers BATTLECROSS are currently making waves across the United States as the next big thing in heavy metal while touring with the Occupation Domination tour. BATTLECROSS will continue to slay the states with Origin, Cattle Decapitation, Decrepit Birth, Aborted, and Rings of Saturn through the tour’s close in Lawrence, KS on May 18. Earlier this week in California, the band filmed a video tour update and TRESPASS AMERICA Festival preview message, now available for viewing exclusively at MetalInjection.net.

The TRESPASS AMERICA festival is a newly minted music festival set on revitalizing the metal scene with some of the most current and credible bands in hard rock/metal. Co-produced with Metal Hammer, the biggest metal magazine in the U.K., the tour kicks off July 13 at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, CO, and will cover 31 cities in two months between July and August across the United States. BATTLECROSS will be joined by headliners Five Finger Death Punch, as well as the reunited original line-up of Killswitch Engage. The TRESPASS AMERICA Festival also features Trivium, Emmure, Pop Evil, and God Forbid. Tickets are on sale now; log onto http://www.trespassamerica.com for complete details.

BATTLECROSS has come a long way since their recent signing with Metal Blade Records and their release of their debut Pursuit of Honor in August 2011. Since its release, the single ‘Push Pull Destroy’ was the #1 Most Requested Metal Track for five weeks (Sirius XM Liquid Metal Devil’s Dozen), remains a stable on the Liquid Metal channel, and the track’s video has racked up over 700,000 YouTube views in the last five months. BATTLECROSS has received killer reviews across the internet and in print publications throughout North America and overseas and was named “Band of the Month” in Metal Hammer Norway and Metal Hammer Spain, so it should be no surprise that this blue collar, hard-work ethic that comes from the band’s five musicians – Kyle “Gumby” Gunther/vocals, Tony Asta/guitar, Hiran Deraniyagala/guitar, Mike Kreger/drums, Don Slater/bass – translates into a potent force on record as well as on stage.
