Formed in Falun, Sweden in 1999, SABATON thoroughly researches their battle topics to ensure the songs paint accurate and objective portraits of the historical event they’re singing about, which are narrated from an omniscient point-of-view or in first-person as a soldier caught in the line of fire. Like their home country of Sweden, SABATON aims to remain politically neutral in their role as musical war historians. SABATON have reached their unshaken position as heavy metal’s AAA-torchbearer after releasing ingenious studio recordings and playing endless amount of unforgettable live shows with massive live production. The Last Stand is another unquestionable and bulletproof evidence of SABATON‘s top class abilities. LGBTQ Music Vote Nominee- Reigen (Troye Sivan-esque) New Single/Free Download with Arthur Indrikovs- (James Arthur, Jess Glynne, Calvin Harris)

REIGEN
“How To Make Love”

The New Single Out 26th Jan 2018
FREE DOWNLOAD

“Gorgeous, poised vocals over a gossamer production” – BBC Radio 6Music

Pop with a left field feel that seems to play the game by its own rules” – Clash Magazine

The LGBTQ Music Vote Nominee, Reigen, is a Houston native who relocated to Brooklyn to advance his career as a singer/songwriter and producer.  Reigen’s delicate falsetto vocals and synthy RnB style in his song, “Weekend,” earned global blog attention in 2017. His new single, “How To Make Love” is a blend of new wave and modern pop that draws worthy comparisons to Years & Years, Sam Smith and Troye Sivan.

In times where there seems to be a constant threat of war and negativity, Reigen shares a gift with the world in the form of ‘How To Make Love’ as a free download. It opens with his trademark falsetto voice, breathing evocative lyrics. The minor tonality of the song, and the underlying heartbeat-like kick drum throughout the song echoes the everyday threat of war with big political heads currently in power. A warm synth leads up to the chorus, offering hope and security while the harp provides serenity during the choruses.

“How To Make Love” was written, performed, and produced by Reigen, then mixed and mastered by Arthur Indrikovs (James Arthur, Jess Glynne, Calvin Harris).

Weeks of late night panic attacks and no sleep, unimaginable news echoing in my head, feeling angry. They say love conquers all – how do we make love in a time of war?

BOARDING HOUSE REACH sees Jack White expanding his musical palate with perhaps his most ambitious work thus far, a collection of songs that are simultaneously timeless and modern. Written and conceived while holed up in a spartan apartment with literally no outside world distractions, White exclusively used the same kind of gear he had when he was 15 years old (a quarter-inch four-track tape recorder, a simple mixer, and the most basic of instrumentation). The album explores a remarkable range of sonic terrain — crunching rock ‘n’ roll, electro and hard funk, proto punk, hip hop, gospel blues, and even country — all remapped and born anew to fit White’s matchless vision and sense of restless experimentation. BOARDING HOUSE REACH is a testament to the breadth of Jack White’s creative power and his bold artistic ambition.

BOARDING HOUSE REACH features White on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars and drums, organ, and synthesizers. He’s backed by a remarkable new lineup of musicians that includes: drummer Louis Cato (Beyoncé, Q-Tip, John Legend, Mariah Carey), bassists Charlotte Kemp Muhl (The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger) and NeonPhoenix (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z), synthesizer players DJ Harrison and Anthony “Brew” Brewster (Fishbone, The Untouchables), keyboardists Neal Evans (Soulive, Talib Kweli, John Scofield) and Quincy McCrary (Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Pitbull), percussionists Bobby Allende (David Byrne, Marc Anthony) and Justin Porée (Ozomatli), and backing vocalists Esther Rose and Ann & Regina McCrary of Nashville’s beloved gospel trio, The McCrary Sisters, as well as longtime collaborators like drummers Daru Jones (Nas, Talib Kweli) and Carla Azar (Autolux, Depeche Mode, Doyle Bramhall II). Singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking also appears, contributing a stirring spoken word performance to the album’s “Abulia and Akrasia.”

BOARDING HOUSE REACH was produced by Jack White III and recorded at Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN, Sear Sound in New York, NY, and Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, CA; the album was mixed by Bill Skibbe, Joshua V. Smith, and White at Third Man Studio in Nashville, TN.

“Connected By Love” b/w “Respect Commander” is available now digitally worldwide and as a physical 7-inch vinyl single pressed at Third Man Pressing in Detroit, MI. The single is accompanied by a brand-new music video from director Pasqual Gutierrez – watch it now HERE.

“Connected By Love” was greeted with rapturous global applause upon its arrival earlier this month, withRolling Stone exclaiming, “The four-year wait is over” with the “blistering first single” from BOARDING HOUSE REACHBillboard declared the song “a classic White confessional blues burner,” while Entertainment Weeklycalled it “thrillingly weird…a searing, organ-lined plea to a former flame.” NPR‘s Bob Boilen raved: “Connected By Love” is “a blend of old guitar blues that is simultaneously on the edge of rock’s horizon.”

White and Third Man Records have also revealed details of their BOARDING HOUSE REACH-themed Vault Package #35, marking the ONLY limited edition of the new album. Vault Package #35 is highlighted by a limited edition, colored vinyl version of BOARDING HOUSE REACH that will be the only vinyl variation of the LP to be made available. Pressed at Third Man Pressing in the Cass Corridor of Detroit, the 180-gram, blue and black swirl vinyl edition features exclusive Vault-only cover art which dramatically depicts White’s stylized face and is printed on arresting holographic foil paper in the classic Stoughton tip-on style. The LP is further accompanied by a unique-to-this-package 12″ x 24″ insert featuring the complete album lyrics.

The BOARDING HOUSE REACH Vault package also includes a two-song demo 7-inch single, offering up embryonic versions of “Connected By Love” and the album track, “Why Walk a Dog?” The former take – billed here under its original title, “Infected By Love” – was recorded entirely by White in the aforementioned Nashville apartment. White found keyboard tones on this recording that the world’s most seasoned session musicians could not recreate in the studio and thus, some of those tones were sourced from this simple demo to be utilized on the final album version. Meanwhile, “Why Walk a Dog?” was recorded, like much of the BOARDING HOUSE REACH demos, alone at his private songwriting refuge. With its expressive synth and drum machine cadence, the track is overtly hypnotic even in this early state. Indeed, the “Connected By Love” and “Why Walk a Dog?” single provides a fascinating insight into White’s process, revealing the creative progression of his songs from inception to completion.

In addition to the recorded material, Vault Package #35 comes with three separate and exclusive photographs shot during BOARDING HOUSE REACH recording sessions. Taken by noted photographer – and White’s longtime friend – David Swanson at Sear Sound in New York and Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, these large-format, high quality glossy reproductions are exclusive to the Vault. The photographs will be coupled with three foil-stamped poetry broadsides, printed on silky metallic papers (black, white, and blue) containing White’s poems from the new album tracks, “Abulia and Akrasia,” “Ezmerelda Steals the Show,” and “Get in the Mind Shaft.”

Lastly, BOARDING HOUSE REACH Vault Package #35 will also include, for the third year running, a custom 2018 Third Man Records challenge coin, complete with album-specific artwork. The substantial and stylish coin doubles as a 45 adaptor and grants its holder 10% off purchases in both Third Man Records storefronts. Past Third Man Challenge coins will no longer be valid at Third Man storefronts once Vault Package #35 ships.

Third Man Vault subscriptions are open now through January 31. All BOARDING HOUSE REACH Vault packages will ship to arrive on and as close to the album’s official March 23 street date. Learn more about this package, additional Vault benefits and subscribe now at Third Man Records HERE.

GRETA VAN FLEET ANNOUNCES INITIAL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES FOR 2018

GRETA VAN FLEET ANNOUNCES INITIAL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES FOR 2018
With Five Dates Already Sold Out, U.S. Trek Starts April 13 at CoachellaBand Has Started Recording its Debut Full-Length Album

Greta Van Fleet – “10 New Artists You Need to Know” – Rolling Stone

LOS ANGELES, CA – January 24, 2018 — Greta Van Fleet, who took the 2017 music scene by storm with its dynamic rock ‘n’ roll debut single “Highway Tune” claiming the #1 spot at Rock Radio for five consecutive weeks, amassing 10-million-plus Spotify plays and 6.8-million YouTube views in 2017 alone, selling out every single one of its headline dates in advance, and being named Loudwire’s “Best New Artist,” will kick off its 2018 tour schedule at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Friday, April 13.  The band’s itinerary will include a slew of other major outdoor music festivals as well as headline dates that will see them playing to larger-capacity venues and multiple nights in some cities.  Five of the dates – Houton, Dallas, Nashville and two nights in Detroit – went on sale last week and all sold out in under 15-minutes.  Tickets for Greta Van Fleet’s headline dates for this leg go on sale to the public this Friday, January 26; log on to www.gretavanfleet.com for all ticket purchasing info.

“We love making music and we love playing shows, but we never expected anything like the attention we’ve been getting,” said bassist Sam Kizska.  “We are truly humbled by the response we’ve gotten, and are very excited to get back on the road and play for our fans.”

Prior to the tour, the Frankenmuth, MI-based Greta Van Fleet – 21-year old vocalist Josh Kiszka, brothers Jake (guitar, also 21) and Sam (bass, keys, 18), and longtime family friend Danny Wagner (drums, also 18) – are spending January and February recording its debut full-length album anticipated to be released late Spring/early Summer (Lava/Republic Records).  The album will be recorded in Nashville and Detroit and produced by Al Sutton and Marlon Young, the duo that helmed the band’s critically-acclaimed, chart-topping/breakout EPs, Black Smoke Rising (4/21/17) and the follow up From The Fires double EP (11/10/17).  For the album, the band has an archive of songs written over the past few years as well as brand new material penned late last year when they spent a week in the Tennessee woods.  So, fans can look forward to the next evolution of, as Revolver magazine put it, Greta Van Fleet‘s “high-octane, soul-and R&B-influenced riff rock.”

“Each of us has his own set of influences so that brings a great diversity to the music we make,” said Jake.  “Every one of our songs has its own unique complexities and we’d like for the full album to showcase that diversity, let people see what we can really do.”

With many more dates to be confirmed, Greta Van Fleet‘s initial 2018 tour itinerary is as follows:

WILL PITTSBURGH GET THE FINAL SLAYER TOUR?

The question on every metalhead’s mind yesterday was whether Slayer would hit their town on the final tour with the likes of Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Testament.  The answer for Pittsburgher’s is YES!!!  See below for details…

After making some of the most brutal, breathtakingly aggressive, all-hell’s-a-breaking-loose music ever created, being one of the four bands that defined an entire musical genre and being the band that other heavy acts are measured against and aspire to…after nearly 37 years, releasing 12 studio albums, multiple live recordings, compilations, live video and two box sets, playing nearly 3000 concerts in all corners of the world, receiving countless awards including five Grammy nominations and two Grammy awards, Gold records and other accolades…having its own exhibit in the Smithsonian Institute, gracing hundreds of magazine covers, experiencing the devastating loss of a founding brother, and even appearing on “The Tonight Show,” the age of Slayer, one of the greatest thrash/metal/punk bands of this or any age, is coming to an end.
Slayer announces that it will do one last concert tour around the globe to thank their fans for all of their support over the years, for making the last three-and-a-half decades so packed with good times and unforgettable experiences, and will then move on.
Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament will support Slayer on the first leg, North America, of its final world tour.  Tickets go on sale to the public this Friday, January 26 at 10AM local time. Very limited Slayer onstage + meet & greet+ exclusive merchandise packages will be available.  Log on to www.slayer.net for this and all ticket purchasing info.
Randy Blythe of LAMB OF GOD says: “If you are lucky enough to be invited to play even just once with living legends like Slayer, it’s an incredible honor. Slayer gave LAMB OF GODour very first two overseas shows. Slayer has subsequently taken us on several full-length tours, both at home and abroad. The guys in Slayer and their crew have also always been very, very cool to our band. It is irrefutable that Slayer helped create the genre of aggressive metal, and all modern bands of that ilk owe them a huge debt – I know we do. To be asked to be a part of their final tour – well, it just makes you stop and realize just how lucky you are. Hail Slayer! We’ll see you on the road…”

ABOUT SLAYER – www.slayer.net:
For more than three decades, Slayer’s onslaught has proven the band to be the supreme thrash-metal band on the planet, the band that other heavy acts are measured against and aspire to. Their membership in “The Big Four” – Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax – the four bands that defined the thrash/metal genre – secures their place in music history.
The two-time Grammy-winners have accumulated an abundance of certified Gold Albums along with “Best…” awards from media outlets all over the world, including Kerrang!SPINMetal HammerRevolver, and Esquire.  Throughout Slayer’s history, the band has never faltered in unleashing its extreme and focused sonic assault, and, unlike many of its contemporaries who commercialized their sound, Slayer has remained crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the mainstream.  Slayer’s founding member, guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed in 2013, and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has been filling in for him since.  Paul Bostaph, who was Slayer’s drummer from ’94 – ’01, rejoined bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King in 2013, and is back behind the kit to stay.
In September 2015, Slayer released Repentless, the band’s 12th, and what would be their final studio album, the first without Hanneman and first with producer Terry Date, to widespread rave reviews and the highest chart debut of the band’s career.  The band also teamed up with director BJ McDonnell for three high-concept and brutal music videos for the album’s title track, then for “You Against You,” and the most recent, “Pride in Prejudice,” racking up a combined 25-million+ YouTube views.  In 2017, Dark Horse Comics published the three-issue “Repentless” comic book series based on McDonnell’s original story concept for the videos and written by “Metalocalypse” director Jon Schnepp.
On January 22, 2018, Slayer announced its decision to do one last world tour to thank its fans for their decades-long support, and then move on.  All Hail Slayer.
ABOUT LAMB OF GOD – http://www.lamb-of-god.com:
Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD are one of heavy music’s most successful and uncompromising bands.  When the band’s first major release, New American Gospel, was released in 2000 it was immediately touted as a classic within the genre. AllMusic stated it best, “The essential signatures of post-Pantera metal are in abundance on Lamb of God’s inaugural album. New American Gospel provides a mighty oak upon which gritty American metal’s faith is maintained, effectively bridging the ’90s’ insistence upon drill-sergeant technicality and the old school’s determined focus on riff construction.”
Some predicted a sophomore slump – that no band could top a debut album so strong.  They were proven wrong, with the release of 2004’s Ashes of the Wake, an album that not only exploded stateside (certified Gold by RIAA) but also saw the spread of LAMB OF GODto all corners of the world.  The band’s first DVD, Killadelphia, followed shortly after and was certified Platinum.  Then, with Sacrament (Album, 2006, #8 debut on the US Billboard Hot 200), LAMB OF GOD were honored with a Grammy nomination for the track “Redneck”, which would be the first of five Grammy nominations for the band to date. Next came Walk With Me In Hell (DVD, 2008) and then the band’s fourth album Wrath in 2009, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 200 Chart, and then Resolution, which debuted at #3. Shortly after the release of Resolution, vocalist Randy Blythe was arrested in Prague, and spent 30 days in jail on a charge for which he was later acquitted (and lead to Blythe’s bestselling memoir, Dark Days, as well as the film As The Palaces Burn).  After regrouping,LAMB OF GOD lost no ground with their latest full-length album, VII: Sturm Und Drang, the album was #3 in the US, #1 in Canada, #2 in Australia, #3 in Finland, #7 in UK, #12 in Germany and #13 in Japan, and #13 in Netherlands. “Overlord“, the first single from VII: Sturm Und Drang, achieved a new milestone for the band when it reached the Top Thirty of US Active Rock Radio Chart (Mediabase).  In late 2016, LAMB OF GOD paid tribute to late, longtime fan and friend Wayne Ford with the release of The Duke EP, which raised funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The EP release coincided with a charity campaign offering personal items such as Blythe’s Ashes Of The Wake Gold plaque, signed signature model guitars, handwritten lyrics and more.
Since inception and through it all, LAMB OF GOD‘s consistent and unwavering commitment to their music – and their fans – has kept them a critical and fan favorite worldwide, selling millions of albums and tickets around the world.
LAMB OF GOD is Randy Blythe (vocals), Mark Morton (guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Chris Adler (drums).

ABOUT ANTHRAX – https://anthrax.com:
As part of the band’s 35th anniversary year, Anthrax released one of 2016’s most-anticipated metal/thrash albums, For All Kings (February 26/Megaforce in North America/Nuclear Blast internationally), that debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Chart, and #9 on the Top 200, becoming Anthrax’s highest-charting album in more than two decades.  Written by drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello and guitarist Scott Ian, the dynamic triumvirate whose unique composition chemistry is, in part, what sets Anthrax’s music apart from other bands’ in the same genre, combined with Joey Belladonna’s breathtaking vocals and the searing guitar leads by newest member Jonathan Donais, it’s no wonder the album and the band’s live shows have consistently received tremendous reviews.
Over its 35-year career, Anthrax has been a pioneering band with its unique style, sound and heavy brand of thrash metal, and, as Metallica’s Kirk Hammett put it, “one can hear their influence on any number of up and coming bands.”  Anthrax has sold in excess of 10-million units, received multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations and a host of other accolades from the media, industry and fans.  From the race and genre barriers Anthrax helped break down in 1988 when they collaborated with Public Enemy on “Bring The Noise,” to becoming a card-carrying member of The Big Four – with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth – as one of the four bands that defined the speed/thrash metal genre – to being the first metal band to have its music heard on Mars when NASA played “Got The Time” to wake up the Mars Rover, Anthrax continues to break ground andinnovate.  On December 13, 2016, the Epiphone/Revolver Music Awards presented Anthrax with its first-ever “Innovator Award” to acknowledge the band’s contribution to music.  On April 27, Anthrax will release “Kings Among Scotland,” a live DVD shot at the band’s 2/15/16 show at Glasgow’s historic venue Barrowland Ballroom.
ABOUT BEHEMOTH – http://behemoth.pl
Behemoth have been carving out their claim as one of the world’s top extreme / black metal bands since their inception in 1991. That claim was solidified in 2014 with the release of the band’s tenth album, The Satanist. The record marked their triumphant return following front man Adam “Nergal” Darski’s battle with Leukemia. “‘The Satanist‘ is magic. It’s dangerous. It’s adventurous, and it’s organic,” states Nergal. While instantly recognizable as the work of the Polish blackened death quartet, it takes their sound in previously unimagined and riveting directions. A writhing, densely layered, brutally violent and sinister record, it is quite unlike anything ever unleashed within the canon of heavy music. As such it demands attention, offering ever greater sonic and emotional depths with every listen. This is evident in the band’s videos for the title track, as well as “Messe Noir” and “Ben Sahar”. Nergal continues, “You may hear the title and think it’s very primitive and one-dimensional, and yes it is, but when you look beyond that it’s as primitive as it is complex and multidimensional, and that applies to everything about the record.” Behemoth‘s lineup is rounded out by Inferno (drums), Orion (bass), and Seth (guitar).

The Satanist debuted at #34 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in the United States. In their home country of Poland, the album became their second consecutive #1 debut, along with 2009’s Evangelion. Since the release of The SatanistBehemoth have published their official biography “Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors” as well as Nergal’s own biography, “Confessions of a Heretic: The Sacred and the Profane: Behemoth and Beyond.” The books are available worldwide now.

For over three decades, the Bay Area thrash quintet-Chuck Billy [vocals], Eric Peterson [guitar], Alex Skolnick [guitar], Steve DiGiorgio [bass], and Gene Hoglan [drums]-has consistently delivered unadulterated, unbridled, and unbreakable metal in its purest form without compromise or any signs of slowing down. Over the course of seminal releases ranging from The Legacy and Practice What You Preach to The Gathering and The Formation of Damnation, which won “Best Album” at Metal Hammer’s 2008 Golden Gods Awards, the group’s sales exceeded 14 million worldwide with 2 million in the U.S. alone. Most recently, 2012’sDark Roots of Earth and 2016’s Brotherhood of the Snake assaulted the charts, both debuting within Billboard’s Top 20 chart.

Jack White has announced the release of his eagerly anticipated new album, BOARDING HOUSE REACH (Third Man/Columbia). The 12-time GRAMMY® Award-winner’s third solo LP and first all-new album in nearly four years, BOARDING HOUSE REACH will arrive everywhere on Friday, March 23.
BOARDING HOUSE REACH is heralded by the rapidly acclaimed new single, “Connected By Love”, b/w “Respect Commander,” which is available now digitally worldwide and as a physical 7-inch vinyl single pressed at Third Man Pressing in Detroit, MI. In addition, a limited edition tri-color 7-inch single will be on sale for one day only, Saturday, January 13th, exclusively at Third Man Records brick & mortar stores in Nashville and Detroit.
“Connected By Love” is accompanied by a brand-new music video from director Pasqual Gutierrez – watch it now HERE. The single was greeted with rapturous global applause upon its arrival on Wednesday, with Billboard declaring the song “a classic White confessional blues burner,” and Entertainment Weekly calling it “a searing, organ-lined plea to a former flame.” NPR‘s Bob Boilen wrote, “it’s a blend of old guitar blues that is simultaneously on the edge of rock’s horizon.” “The four-year wait is over,” says Rolling Stone Jack is back with the “blistering first single” from BOARDING HOUSE REACH.
Additionally, White & Third Man Records have revealed a special BOARDING HOUSE REACH-themed Vault Package #35 which will be the ONLY limited edition of the new album, with subscriptions open today through January 31. The new package is highlighted by a limited edition, colored vinyl version of BOARDING HOUSE REACH that will be the only vinyl variation of the LP to be made available.
Taken by noted photographer — and White’s longtime friend — David Swanson at Sear Sound in New York and Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, these large-format, high quality glossy reproductions are exclusive to the Vault.
BOARDING HOUSE REACH Vault Package #35 will also include, for the third year running, a custom 2018 Third Man Records challenge coin, complete with album-specific artwork.
White will celebrate BOARDING HOUSE REACH with a number of just-announced headline festival performances, including Atlanta, GA’s Shaky Knees Music Festival (May 4-6), Boston Calling (May 25-27), and the Governor’s Ball Music Festival in New York (June 1-3). Additional dates will be unveiled soon and every online ticket purchased for North American headline shows will include a physical copy of BOARDING HOUSE REACH on CD with the option to upgrade to the standard black vinyl single LP. For updates and tickets, please visit jackwhiteiii.com/tour-dates.

BUTCHER BABIES Launch Pre-Order for ‘Lilith’ (Out Oct. 27) – On Tour This Fall w/ Hollywood Undead Oct 10 @StageAE

BUTCHER BABIES LAUNCH PRE-ORDER FOR ‘LILITH’

NEW ALBUM OUT OCTOBER 27 ON CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD BEGINS NEXT MONTH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
September, 8th 2017
Hollywood-based Metal outfit BUTCHER BABIES are set to release their third studio album, Lilith, on October 27th via Century Media Records. Today, the band is thrilled to announce that pre-orders for the new album are available now in both physical and digital formats. Speaking about the unique pre-order packages for Lilith, Carla Harvey (vocals) comments:
“In anticipation of ‘Lilith’, we wanted to offer unique pre-sale bundles that are special to us. Not only do we have the album, limited edition vinyl, and t-shirts up for grabs, but we are also offering limited edition items curated by myself and Heidi. One such item is a gorgeous lyric book for Lilith featuring never before seen illustrations by me and graphics by Heidi.  Another item is our signature Lilith pendant, a darling necklace handcrafted by us for our Butcher Army. You can find all the details on our pre-order site www.ButcherBabiesOfficial.com
BUTCHER BABIES – ‘Lilith’ Pre-order: http://smarturl.it/BBLilith
Fans that pre-order Lilith will also receive the album’s title track as an Instant Grat. Speaking about the first offering from their new album, Heidi Shepherd (vocals) states:
“After a year of writing and recording we are thrilled with the growth and maturity of this album. Leading with our title track ‘Lilith’, the artistic development within the band shines. We worked with producer, Steve Evetts to bring you the rawest form of Butcher Babies. No auto-tune, 100% real drums, real guitars, real bass, and an all out Butcher Babies assault on your senses. As we know in this industry, these standards are quickly replaced by machines and can eliminate what makes a band an actual band. We are so proud of the hard work and dedication that each member of our team put in to create this masterpiece.”
BUTCHER BABIES will make their much awaited return to the road in North America alongside Hollywood Undead as part of a two month run in the states. With shows already sold out in Hollywood, Des Moines, St. Louis, and Madison, WI, fans can find a complete list of dates below.

“Brookyn’s best new punks show their softer side” – FLOOD
NORTH AMERICA KICKS OFF THIS MONTH
B Boys hit us with their new single “Walking”, a song the band explains is “about trying to be tender and acknowledging that masculinity is a prison written after a whirlwind of emotions of being on tour.”  The single debuted over at FLOOD who’ve described it “bounces out like a version of ‘Sweet Jane’ reimagined for a punk-rock prom, but it quickly shifts into itself, the internal tension building more quickly than the group allows it to escape.”

– B BOYS MEET THE PRESS  –

A:  It all began with a dream, really. The album.

Q:  Oh, there’s an album?
A:  13 songs, recorded with microphones and such. A variety of instruments.

Q:  I’d call that an album.
A:  We call it Dada.

Q:  Like the art movement?
A:  Yeah sure, but more like the combination of syllables.

Q:  So, like a linguistic connection?
A:  Language, self-awareness, introspection, a fresh pair of chinos. It’s all connected; not everything has to make sense.

Q:  Fair enough, but it all seems to be stemming from somewhere. Where is this where?
A:  You won’t find it on some cartographer’s desk. It comes from within. Equal parts collective unconscious and personal experience.

Q:  That’s a lot deeper than you look.
A:  We got a different mind.

Q:  If 50 years from now the kids are still grooving to this Dada thing – success?
A:  50 years? Kids? We’d be happy if anyone was grooving to this 50 days from now.

Q:  What would you call that? Self-deprecation? An odd sense of humor?
A:  All we know is all we know, but 50 days of grooving sounds pretty good from where we sleep, especially on a pair of quality speakers.

Q:  Now you’re talking. OK, so I’m stuck on a deserted island with this Dada LP. What else should I bring?
A:  A tin of mints and some unconventional serenity.

Q:  Do you have anything specific you’d like to express to get the fans going?

At this point in the conversation, the B Boys looked at one another, stood up, and walked away without saying a word. Before reaching the door, they flipped a switch on the wall and every single fan in the place turned on. They looked back over their shoulder and smiled.

One thing’s for certain: I wish I could be on a deserted island with them right now with a salty breeze flowing through my hair.

About LAMB OF GOD:
They were proven wrong, with the release of 2004’s Ashes of the Wake, an album that not only exploded stateside (certified Gold by RIAA) but also saw the spread of LAMB OF GOD to all corners of the world. After regrouping, LAMB OF GOD lost no ground with their latest full-length album, VII: Sturm Und Drang, the album was #3 in the US, #1 in Canada, #2 in Australia, #3 in Finland, #7 in UK, #12 in Germany and #13 in Japan, and #13 in Netherlands. “Overlord“, the first single from VII: Sturm Und Drang, achieved a new milestone for the band when it reached the Top Thirty of US Active Rock Radio Chart (Mediabase).  Most recently, late last year LAMB OF GOD paid tribute to late, longtime fan and friend Wayne Ford with the release of The Duke EP, which raised funds and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Australia’s AVERSIONS CROWN are coming to PITTSBURGH to make U.S. debut w/ OCEANO

Like a cataclysmic storm making landfall, the brand new album Xenocide from crushing Brisbane outfit Aversions Crown is here to destroy everything in its path. Off the back of a long touring cycle for their Nuclear Blast Entertainment debut, Tyrant, which saw Aversions Crown playing alongside Soilwork, Thy Art Is Murder, Attila, Parkway Drive, Psycroptic, Rings Of Saturn and The Acacia Strain, hitting festivals like Unify Gathering and Taste Of Anarchy as well as selling out headline shows on the other side of the world in Germany and the UK, the band refined and sharpened their already potent mix of brutal death metal speed and violence with eldritch atmospherics, audio manipulation and vocalist Mark Poida’s otherworldly vocal range and ability into a new level of destruction.

With teaser tracks “Parasites” and “Erebus” released over the course of 2016 hinting at the new direction, the band teamed up with frequent collaborators Adam Merker at Studio Anders Debeerz in Brisbane and Mark Lewis from Audio Hammer in Florida to create Xenocide. On the goal in mind when writing Xenocide, guitarist mastermind Chris Cougan says “we wanted to accentuate our strengths as Aversions Crown; the extreme drumming, the guitar interplay, Mark’s awesome vocals and really work on the arrangements instead of having a bunch of riffs on top of some blasts.”

With a loose conceptual framework at play across Xenocide’s tales of destruction, revenge, reanimation and murder, Poida enthuses “I really got an awesome brutal canvas to paint a horrible evil lyrical picture on. We pushed it to the limits of our songwriting ability and are very proud of the record.”

Aversions Crown will take Xenocide to stages around the world in 2017. Get in the pit or get out of the way.

Xenocide
was tracked by Adam Merker at Studio Anders Debeerz in Brisbane and mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis (WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER) from Audio Hammer.

Los Angeles, CA, and Winter Park, FL, March 23, 2017 – The entire lineup for 2017’s Vans Warped Tour, presented by Journeys, was revealed yesterday via a LIVE webcast, direct from Full Sail Live, the state-of-the-art performance venue on the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. Fans in attendance were overjoyed to see the lineup for this year include not only current favorites and promising up and comers, but a deep list of legacy acts spanning the tour’s 23 year history. Blessthefall, Memphis May Fire, Jule Vera, Stacked Like Pancakes and Microwave also attended the live stream and performed during the webcast.
Now in its 23rd year, the Vans Warped Tour continues to solidify itself as the must attend festival over summer for rock and music lovers alike.
In the tradition of celebrating the tour’s musical roots, the lineup includes bands such as CKY, Sick Of It All, Municipal Waste, The Adolescents, Strung Out, T.S.O.L, Anti-Flag, Hatebreed and others, who are legends in the punk, hardcore and metal core world.
Returning this year is the Mutant Party Zone, which will provide festival-goers with two stages dedicated to heavy music from bands such as The Acacia Strain, Being As An Ocean, Blessthefall, Carnifex, Fit For A King, GWAR and any more.

The Vans Warped Tour has always been a place of music discovery and this year is no exception – the Full Sail Stage has up and comers like Boston Manor, Creeper, The Gospel Youth, Knocked Loose, Movements, and Trophy Eyes positioned to break this summer.

Overall, the tour continues to offer something for every fan, showcasing the best in pop punk, rock, hard core, hip-hop, dance and indie.
The Vans Warped Tour is the largest traveling music festival in the United States, and the longest-running touring music festival in North America. Originally conceived by founder Kevin Lyman in 1995 as an eclectic alternative rock festival, with a focus on punk rock, over the years the tour has grown to include a multitude of genres, including metal, hip hop, reggae, pop and more. It remains one of the best tours to attend to discover emerging acts, to learn more about wonderful non-profits and companies who are working to make a positive impact on the world that surround them, and to meet like-minded friends.
“As we enter our 23rd year on the road, continuing our mission of music, philanthropy and education is what I look forward to most.  The Vans Warped Tour is not for all, but every summer I look forward to seeing those fans who do chose to come and engage and be a positive force in our community.” – Kevin Lyman
In addition, the tour continues to host a wide array of amazing non-profits and educational workshops for attendees. Teens With a Purpose, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), Donate Life New England, Planned Parenthood, Keep A Breast, Testicular Cancer Foundation, and Project HEAL, just to name a few. Fans can see their favorite bands as well as become educated on these causes and how they can help.
Sierra Lyman comments, “Music has inspired change and social change has inspired music. Since its inception the Vans Warped Tour created a place where fans are not only inspired by their favorite artists, but also inspired to work with a cause they care about. This is pushed even further by opening up musicians to causes they never even knew about. By creating this community of nonprofits we are able to connect fans with their favorite musicians and also inspire some good in the world.”
The Entertainment Institute will return to the 2017 tour as well, hosting educational workshops and Q+A’s hosted by the industry’s most successful writers, artists, and photographers. A full listing of the guru’s hosting each workshop is available at http://www.thinktei.com/warpedtour

Tickets for this year’s tour on are sale now and can be purchased at vanswarpedtour.com
As a bonus for early ticket buyers, the first 500 tickets sold for each show will be at the lowest price available and will include a digital download of the Official Vans Warped Tour 50-song compilation.

ALBUM OUT NOW ON URINAL CAKE RECORDS

Today, you can head over to Noisey and stream the debut album from (and read an interview with) Detroit’s Stef Chura, Messes, out tomorrow on Urinal Cake Records. Long a staple of the Detroit and Ann Arbor DIY scene, songwriter and guitarist Stef Chura has crafted a perfect album of grungy, 90s-tinged confessional songs, too loud to be bedroom pop, and too confident to be ignored. Already praised by the likes of Pitchfork, NPR Music, MTV News, Stereogum, Paste, and more, Messes is a promising and confident debut for an artist we’re sure to hear from a lot in the coming years.

PRAISE FOR STEF CHURA

“The Detroit-based indie rocker Stef Chura sings in a wry, hooded tone somewhere between acidic Liz Phair and eyebrow-raised Chrissie Hynde; her voice is a colorful instrument that hits a lot of emotional nerve clusters at once. On “You,” she lets it unfurl like a snapping flag.” – Pitchfork

“Her music recalls the propulsive, pop-driven rock of icons like Liz Phair and Hole; her conversational, confessional lyrics add a touch of folksiness.” – NPR Music

“there are a bunch of reasons you should pay attention to the grunge pop songstress.” – Noisey

“The twilight-shaded alt-rock track is topped off with Chura’s striking vocal presence, each word quivering with power whether whispered, moaned, or fiercely belted out. It’s the sound of a songwriter taking familiar sounds and molding them into her own unmistakable image.” – Stereogum

“A major highlight on the record is Chura’s voice, which is prone to breathy, almost yodel-y stretches, and can take the simplest lyric and twist it into what sounds like a hundred knots until, suddenly, you realize that’s the chorus. ” –MTV News

“Chura packs the album full of doubts, anxieties, stresses and breakthroughs. It’s an album about all the shit that life throws at you and coming out, at least somewhat, better on the other side.” – Raven Sings the Blues

“Delivering with a perfectly imbalanced combination of dead-pan brush-offs and evident pensiveness, Stef Chura has pressed and pressed herself and in doing so created something gold.” – GoldFlakePaint

“Stef makes hooky indie rock and she has a way with a turn-of-phrase, too. (Think Liz Phair joining Throwning Muses, that’s kinda like what she sounds like.)” – Brooklyn Vegan

“The standout here is Chura’s singular voice, a seemingly delicate, orphic thing that can slide from breathy lullaby to belted ballad.” – Paste

The Devil Wears Prada Joins Anthrax, Killswitch Engage Tour/ Pittsburgh Date April 9

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA TO JOIN ANTHRAX AND KILLSWITCH ENGAGE
ON SPRING NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
L-R:  Kyle Sipress, Andy Trick, Mike Hranica, Jeremy Depoyster
LOS ANGELES, CA – (Thursday, January 5, 2017) — The Devil Wears Prada will hit the road early in the New Year with a slot on what will be one of the heaviest tours of 2017 – a 27-date North American tour as special support to co-headliners Anthrax and Killswitch Engage.  The trek, presented by SiriusXM, kicks off at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ on March 29 and will zig-zag the continent, culminating in Boston on May 7.  Tickets are on sale now; log onto http://www.tdwpband.com/tour for purchasing info.
This tour won’t be the first time that TDWP – Mike Hranica (vocals), Jeremy DePoyster (rhythm guitar, vocals), Andy Trick (bass), and Kyle Sipress (lead guitar) – have crossed paths with either band.  Prada toured the U.S. with KsE in 2010, and played with Anthrax on the 2012 Mayhem tour.  Additionally, Adam D., KsE’s lead guitarist, produced two of Prada’s albums – Dead Throne (2011) and 8:18 (2013).
“This tour will be a real treat,” said Prada’s Hranica.  “We have an awesome relationship with Adam, he’s one of the craziest, most fun dudes we know, and when it comes to thrash and metal, you don’t get much bigger names than Anthrax and Killswitch.”
The Devil Wears Prada will be putting together a special set for this tour.  “I love the idea of going to a show and seeing bands whose music is in the same ballpark, but still different from each others’,” Hranica added.  “We have our own personal style on the side of metal, so we’ll do some of our dark, heavy, noisey songs, but probably stay away from interludes inbetween.  We’ll have our own footprint on stage each night.”
These dates will be in support of Prada’s new and sixth full-lenth album, the 11-track, critically-acclaimed Transit Blues (Rise Records).  Produced by Dan Korneff (Pierce The Veil, Motionless in White), Transit Blues examines themes of transition, separation and the toll that constant touring can have on one’s personal life.  Click here to check out the album’s first music video for the song “To The Key Of Evergreen,” inspired by Hranica’s all-time favorite love story, Vladimir Nabokov’s “Lolita.”

Howie Day’s emotionally resonant lyrics and inventive melodies have earned him both critical praise and a legion of devoted fans.  He is known for his energetic, heartfelt shows, where he connects with audiences through the strength of his songwriting and his quirky sense of humor. Day’s warm tenor voice “soars into fluttering, high registers, but also grates with real, pleading grit,” as one critic put it.  After sales of over a million records and two Top 10 hits, Day is back on the road in support of his new studio album, Lanterns.

A native of Bangor, Maine, Day began playing piano at age five and guitar at age 12. By 15, he was writing his own songs and performing across New England.  Shortly after graduating high school, Day became a fixture at college coffeehouses across the U.S. He wrote, financed and released his first effort, Australia, which was named Best Debut Album at the 2001 Boston Music Awards.  The Boston Globe called Day “gorgeously seasoned, far beyond his years” with “a brave, beautiful singing voice.”  During his relentless touring schedule, Day began experimenting with effects pedals and loop-sampling techniques as he performed, layering live percussion with vocal harmonies and guitar parts to become a veritable one-man band. He went on to sell over 30,000 copies of Australia as he navigated the independent music scene and continued to hone his craft.

After signing with Epic Records, Day released his major-label debut, Stop All The World Now, and hit the road to support it. The constant promotion paid off: Stop was certified gold in the U.S. and spawned two Top 10 radio hits: “She Says” and the platinum single “Collide.” After three subsequent years of intense worldwide touring, Day moved to Los Angeles and returned to the studio. His next release, Sound the Alarm, built on the emotionally complex spirit of its predecessor and delved into Day’s journey from indie wunderkind to platinum-selling artist. Its lead single, “Be There,” became a staple at modern AC radio.

After parting ways with Epic and relocating to New York City in 2010, Day released the Ceasefire EP on his own label, Daze.  Over the next two years, as a reenergized Day toured North America, Australia and Asia, new songs began to emerge and evolve. His fourth full-length album, Lanterns, was recorded in Boston with producer and longtime friend Mike Denneen. Awash with a warm musicality and unique instrumentation, the album also features guest vocals from Aimee Mann. Lanterns was released in April 2015.

NELSON and Wendy and Carnie Wilson perform on ‘THE TALK’

LOS ANGELES, December 13, 2016
“This Christmas Too” is available in stores, now.  The album is a true family affair for Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, who have teamed up with another pair of platinum, second- (and, in the Nelsons‘ case, third-) generation performers in their childhood friends Carnie and Wendy Wilson for a holiday single that celebrates not only their legendary rock fathers – Ricky Nelson and Brian Wilson – but their individual hit-making histories. The large-screen video for the single “This Christmas” can be viewed
Nelson, along with Wendy and Carnie Wilson, will make their television debut with a performance of “This Christmas” on CBS’s “The Talk” on Dec. 14 at 2:00pm ET/1:00pm PT.
NELSON is once again a solid Top 10 Holiday radio smash with “This Christmas” – with a major Mediabase and Nielsen/BDS chart and national airplay profile going head to head with major superstars Josh Groban, Train, Pentatonix and Neil Diamond. Building on their breakout 2015 holiday success, the new 2016 version featuring Carnie and Wendy Wilson has been met with enthusiastic radio programmer support and solid airplay right up there with the established Christmas classics.
Both the Nelson brothers and Wilson sisters experienced chart-topping success from the very start of their careers.  Nelson’s “(I Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection,” from their 1990 multi-platinum debut album, After the Rain, went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, along with the #6 title track and Top 40 hits “More Than Ever” and “Only Time Will Tell.” The Wilson sisters’ Wilson Phillips – with Chynna Phillips, the daughter of the Mamas & the Papas’ John and Michele – scored three #1 singles that same year in “Hold On,” “Release Me” and “You’re in Love,” from their self-titled multi-platinum debut.
CBS’s Daytime Emmy Award-winning talk show THE TALK features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities discussing current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. The daily one-hour series is hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood. The hosts swap stories, challenge each other on issues and engage the studio audience and viewers at home about events in the headlines and their own homes. Show segments include guest interviews with entertainers and newsmakers, musical performances, cooking demos with celebrity chefs, as well as real-world advice. Multiple Daytime Emmy Award-winning John Redmann serves as executive producer. Gilbert, who developed the show, is also an executive producer. Heather Gray and Kristin Matthews are co-executive producers. THE TALK’s seventh season premiered Monday, Sept. 12.

Show Review: Switchfoot and Relient K – Stage AE

Switchfoot. Relient K. No this isn’t the early 2000’s. It’s 2016. This also isn’t another show review about two aging American Alternative rock groups. Here we have bands that frankly, have yet to age.

Switchfoot and Relient K collectively boast 30 plus years of touring and performing. The similar nature of each group is what has brought them together on this tour. For the bands, the music and emotion follow similar paths.  Uniquely, the two groups share a strong Christian rock influence. Each also seems to have made it a habit living atop the Christian Rock music charts year after year. Together the bands have 1$ from each ticket sold on the tour supporting Bro-Am which supports local kids, the homeless, and at-risk and disadvantaged youth.

switchfoot-1-14

The stage was set with a white buffalo statue, scenic forest-cabin background, and coca-cola cooler next to a white piano and 70’s era yellow lawn chair. All were tied together with a faux tree and grill. Frontman Matt Thiessen was the perfect completion to this odd motif. Wearing khakis, a white button-down, and a yellow jacket. His presence left no doubt of being old, lame, or unhip.

switchfoot-1-5

Thiessen is a shaggy-haired 36-year-old. You’d think though with his on-stage presence he was no more than 25. He matched energetic riffs behind the piano with perfect execution. Relient K opened with their piano-infused song “Local Construction” off of their new 2016 album “Air for Free.” The love was apparent through connecting smiles with one of the last original members Hoppes on lead guitar. The veteran duo that often laughed, humanized the band as average people just doing what they love. I couldn’t help but smile seeing real happiness onstage.

Is he really 36? No way. This energy is reserved for a younger persona. The end of the set met an unexpecting crowd with the lead singer of Switchfoot, Jon Foreman, joining Thiessen on stage. The two began an emotional duet with Relient K’s 2007 “Deathbed.” A stunned crowd gave an emotional farewell as Foreman exited. Switchfoot’s Foreman had the crowd ready for the impressive showmanship that his band had ahead.

Flashing led’s in a wave of lights glistened as a countdown began on a screen above the stage. A massive roar followed the end of the countdown. Effectively backing up the build-up from Relient K. switchfoot-1-19Holy Water,” the Looking for America Tour intro, started in perfect timing. Our leather jacket wrapped, fedora-topped Foreman bolting out stage center just in time for the uptempo crashing drums stage center.
The immediate transition to one of their biggest hits came next with “Meant to live” boasting an aggressive sound paired with uptempo lyrics. Switchfoot’s Tim Foreman on bass, Chad Butler on drums, and guitarists Jerome Fontamillas and Drew Shirley weren’t about to let expectations down. A band sounding better live than on their albums electronically is such a great surprise here.

The rest of their set was a professional high octane experience. Each song blended beautifully to the next. Slow songs had emotion as Foreman reached to the crowd. We have an artist here that made it very clear to share the love with his fans. You felt as if he wanted to give every last person there his thanks through his acknowledgment of the fans. Switchfoot ended the set just as strong as they began.

switchfoot-1-26

Much of the crowd consisted of 30 somethings listening to their favorite college or high school heart-throbs. Though a set of Christian acts, whether here for the message or music you left fully satisfied.

The Looking for America Tour has something for everyone. You leave feeling satisfied knowing that concert ticket was worth every last penny.  These are two bands that keep the excitement alive through their onstage presences and atmosphere. Fizzled out? No chance. Switchfoot and Relient K aren’t close to stopping. Be sure to catch them nearby before the tour ends Dec 6.

The Contortionist is Coming to Pittsburgh OCT 3 @MrSmalls

The Contortionist have released a “Rediscovered” version of their most recent LP, Language. The new version contains four re-worked tracks recorded and engineered by John Douglass and mixed/mastered by Jamie King. The rediscovered tracks are accompanied by four all new music videos for the same tracks.
“Playing with that idea, throughout all the songs, there is also a story woven in that
plays on a few different ideas,” Lessard explains. “Even beyond the actual lyrics and what
they are literally saying, some of the vocal sounds themselves play a part.”It’s a crude summary of an ambitious project – one that has dense layers of
sophistication listeners can delve into on their own, while others may be just as happy

to nod their head along to the expansive rhythms and accessible song motifs. The men of The Contortionist remain in awe of prog-titans like Yes, King Crimson and
Rush. At the same time, the music they are creating will not only build bridges between
different genres and different scenes; it can even send younger fans to dig through their
parents’ LP collections look for albums by old legends. Language is more than capable of
launching The Contortionist to the top of the progressive realm and into the creative

           stratosphere.

Grammy nominated Brazilian singer Bebel Gilberto is excited to be back on tour this Fall. Her month long US tour will start on September 10th in Boca Raton, FL and continues through October, where she will perform a 3-night run at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, NY before joining fellow Brazilian Mariza in Newark, NJ on the 16th. The tour will make stops in ten different cities across the country.

Gilberto, who has earned multiple Grammy nominations over the course of her career, has captivated fans and earned media acclaim worldwide with her trademark electronic bossa nova, sonically transporting listeners to Brazil, with bright, incandescent bossa nova-infused melodies, lyrics about love, and a lilting performance style has earned her raves for her live performances.

Hailing from a rich musical lineage, Bebel is the is the daughter of João Gilberto and singer Miúcha, and grew up surrounded by her extended musically family, including her uncle Chico Buarque and family friends like Milton Nacimento, Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso, and João Donato. Her professional solo debut came in 1986 with a self-titled EP released by WEA which included “Preciso dizer que te amo,” a partnership with Cazuza.

With her highly acclaimed release Tanto Tempo in 2000, Bebel introduced her now-trademark blend of electronic bossa nova, which took over clubs around the world and positioned Bebel as one of the top-selling Brazilian artists in the U.S. The album reflected Bebel’s life split growing up between Brazil and New York City, infusing a modern, cosmopolitan edge to the music she grew up with. She continues to call New York City home to this day.
