The Acacia Strain Debut New Song “Above”

Only a couple of months ago, The Acacia Strain announced that they were losing their original guitarist (Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz), but had two new guys (Devin Shidaker and Richard Gomez) filling in, who were a huge addition to the band by adding some big time ideas and a solid structure that the band even said was needed. Now, since their lineup change, we can finally listen to the future of The Acacia Strain. Yesterday, the band released a new song called “Above” and to quickly sum it all up, it’s a headbanging song. “Above” doesn’t waste anytime whatsoever, it jumps right into it and just never ends with the pure heaviness that The Acacia Strain has never failed to deliver. The band has never really held back when it comes to huge breakdowns and chugging on their instruments, and this song is a prime example. It has everything you could possibly want in one of their songs; the really fast double bass all the way to the slow grungy heavy metal. This song has been extremely excited to hear what else they have coming our way, hopefully sooner than we think.

Check the new song “Above” out right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPR61a_Jdek&feature=youtu.be

Battlecross returns to Pittsburgh w/ Death Angel, 3 Inches Of Blood, Revocation, Diamond Plate @ Altar Bar

Our brothers in arms Battlecross return to Pittsburgh with an amazing lineup of talent: Death Angel, 3 Inches Of Blood, Revocation, and Diamond Plate all at Altar Bar on 10/31!  One hell of a way to spend Halloween!

To cap off an extremely successful 2013, Battlecross has announced that they will be supporting Death Angel on their fall headlining tour! Battlecross will join the tour’s other supporting acts 3 Inches of Blood, Revocation, and Diamond Plate for a tour that begins on October 18 in San Francisco and wraps on November 10 in Santa Ana, CA. Tickets are on today/tomorrow in each city.

A new performance demonstration video for “Flesh & Bone” from “War of Will” has been posted to metalblade.com/battlecross. The video features Tony Asta, Don Slater, and Hiran Deraniyagala performing their individual parts to the track that proved to be a fan favorite on the road. “Flesh & Bone” was the soundtrack to walls of death all summer long on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, and popular metal blog, skullsnbones.com, even put together a compilation of fan-filmed walls of death from different cities on the tour. Watch those videos now at skullsnbones.com HERE!

“War of Will” debuted at #134 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, #118 on the top current albums chart, #2 on the heatseeker chart, #15 on the current hard music chart, #16 on the hard music overall chart, and #32 on the independent albums chart. It didn’t stop here though, as the band also debuted in Canada’s Soundscan charts coming in at #178 Top 200 Current and #25 Hard Music Charts while also landing on the iTunes charts for release date at #103 on the Top 200, #10 on Rock, and #2 on Metal! This marks the band’s first ever Billboard chart debut! “War of Will” also peaked at #3 on the US iTunes metal chart on the day of release.

“another essential listen for thrash fans worldwide” Big Cheese Magazine (UK)

“The level of musical and compositional progression here is startling, to be quite honest…The effect as a whole is energetic and fist-pumping to the extreme, ushering in a beacon of hope for American metal in 2013.” Zero Tolerance Magazine (UK)

“Get ready for Battlecross to move up to headlining status by the conclusion of this album’s touring cycle. War Of Will is a rallying cry for American metal, synthesizing the best of all sides of the extreme, thrash, and modern genres to champion for the genre.” DeadRhetoric.com

The Acacia Strain Announce Two New Guitarists

images

Just the other day, heavy metal band The Acacia Strain announced that their old guitarist, Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz will no longer be a member of the band.  They did not give reason, but they wished him the best of luck in all of his future endeavors.  In his place, they have obtained two new guitarists who have made some head way in the band apparently.  They are Devin Shidaker and Richard Gomez who will be full time members of the band.  With two new members, The Acacia Strain plan on getting started with writing and recording new material very soon.  As of now, they are touring with Lamb of God till late June.  Hopefully after that they will be in the studio for a bit before they play at the Heavy MTL Festival in Montreal sometime in August.

For more updates on The Acacia Strain’s new guitarists and the newest upcoming album check-out their Facebook page and follow them on Twitter for more updates.

THE ACACIA STRAIN INVOLVED IN “SERIOUS VAN ACCIDENT”, Out for Pittsburgh Show

(story via www.allaxess.com): The Acacia Strain has been forced to bow out of its current co-headlining tour with Veil Of Maya following a, “serious van accident,” which caused the band and crew members minor injuries and the van damage beyond repair.

The accident took place between Lancaster, California and Tucson, Arizona yesterday (Tuesday, November 27).

Although the vehicle flipped over on its back and a large portion of the band’s personal effects littered the highway, no one was seriously injured.

The Acacia Strain issued the following statement to its official Facebook page: “It comes with heavy hearts and sadness to announce that The Acacia Strain will be leaving their Co-Headlining tour with Veil Of Maya due to a serious van accident. Members of the band and crew are being treated for minor injuries, nothing serious.

“Frontman, Vincent Bennet commented, ‘Canceling tour dates is something we hate doing but we will make it up to all of you. We are all very grateful to be alive and will see you in the New Year.’”

The band later posted the following update and an accompanying picture (shown above) on its Facebook page: “As you can see, we will not be able to finish our tour with Veil of Maya. We are very sorry and, again, we will make this up to you all. Please support VEIL OF MAYA, Upon A Burning Body, Volumes, and Twitching Tongues on the rest of the tour.”
