MEGADETH Announces Reissues Of Iconic Albums ‘United Abomination,’ ‘Endgame’ & ‘TH1RT3EN’ To Be Released July 26

Thrash metal pioneers MEGADETH burst onto the scene in 1983, virtually inventing a genre and have earned their spot as one of metal’s most influential and respected acts of all time. Over the course of their illustrious 36-year career, the band has sold more than 38 million albums worldwide, notched 6 consecutive platinum efforts, 7 top-ten albums, and has earned numerous accolades including 12 GRAMMY® nominations and a 2017 GRAMMY® Award in the “Best Metal Performance” category for the title track “Dystopia”.

With sheer determination and a relentless recording and touring schedule, MEGADETH has worked their way up from headlining clubs to headlining arenas, festival and stadiums, cementing a legacy that continues to grow and spread throughout the world.

United Abominations

MEGADETH’s 11th studio album, entitled United Abominations, was first released on May 15, 2007. Debuting at No. 8 on the Billboard chart, it was their highest debut since 1994’s Youthanasia. The album was voted No. 1 metal album of the year by several publications and was hailed by critics and fans alike as one of the finest of the band’s career and was revered as their best in a decade.

The new reissue has been fully remastered by producer Ted Jensen (Guns N’ Roses, Mastodon, Machine Head and Trivium) and includes rare bonus track “Out on the Tiles” on the CD version – a cover of the Led Zeppelin classic. The record will also be on vinyl for the first time in over 12 years and again on CD for the first time in 3 years.

A quartet with frequent guest musicians, The Spider Hole performs songs meant to stir brains and rattle bones. Based in sun-scorched Phoenix, AZ, the band started banging sounds together in the late nineties, and has steadily developed an aural stew that is partly rock, partly cabaret, partly blues, and partly goth. Influences include Tom Waits, Oingo Boingo, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Primus, The Pixies, Frank Zappa, The Doors, and your face when you taste something unexpected. New music is being prepped for a new full-length album called To the Monsters, due near the end of 2018.

KISS – The Iconic Rock Band’s Four Same-Day-Released Solo Albums Come Together To Celebrate Their 40th Anniversary In A Limited-Edition 4LP Vinyl Box Set

The Iconic Rock Band’s Four Same-Day-Released Solo Albums Come Together
To Celebrate Their 40th Anniversary In A Limited-Edition 4LP Vinyl Box Set
Via Casablanca/UMe On October 19
Los Angeles – September 18, 2018– Forty years ago today, each one the four founding members of KISS — Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss — released their respective solo albums all on the same day to much fanfare, chart success, and platinum sales. And now, four decades later, all four of these pioneering albums are celebrated in KISS: The Solo Albums – 40th Anniversary Collectiona limited-edition 180-gram 4LP box set by Casablanca/UMe that’s earmarked for release on October 19.

Preorders commence today, September 18, for the limited run of 2,500 vinyl box sets, available exclusively through KISS’s artist webstore ( and The Sound of Vinyl ( Each heavyweight 180-gram LP features a unique color to match its associated cover art; Gene Simmons appears in red vinyl, Paul Stanley sports purple vinyl, Ace Frehley contains blue vinyl, and Peter Criss is in green vinyl. All four albums are housed together in a deluxe black-matte slipcase that features glossy black images of the four artists’ faces surrounding a silver-foil print of the infamous KISS logo.

Also included in this set are four 12-by-12-inch posters of each album cover, plus an exclusive turntable slipmat that shows all four of artist Eraldo Carugati’s iconic, painted album-cover face images all connected together.

All four of these solo albums served to showcase the wide range of talents of each KISS bandmember. Gene Simmons, co-produced by Simmons and Sean Delaney, features the band’s bassist and co-lead vocalist switching over mainly to acoustic and electric guitar duties for songs that highlight his penchant for Beatlesque melodies, funk, and hard rock. Highlights include a remake of “See You In Your Dreams” (initially found on KISS’ 1976 benchmark album, Rock And Roll Over) and a cover of the 1940 Disney classic from Pinocchio, “When You Wish Upon A Star.” Guest musicians include Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, Bob Seger, Cher, Donna Summer, and Katey Sagal.

Meanwhile, Paul Stanley was co-produced by Stanley and Jeff Glixman and it showcases all-original material and stellar work across the board from the KISS lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, in addition to lead and acoustic guitar work from longtime KISS axe associate Bob Kulick. The super-catchy track “Hold Me, Touch Me (Think Of Me When We’re Apart)” reached No. 46 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.

Ace Frehley, produced by Eddie Kramer and Frehley, finds the lead guitarist doing what he does best. Frehley’s foot-stomping cover of “New York Groove,” originally a 1975 hit by the British glam band Hello, peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. Guest musicians include Anton Fig on drums (a sometimes KISS session musician who later became a member of Frehley’s Comet) and bassist Will Lee, both of whom went on to become core members of both of David Letterman’s late-night talk-show house bands led by keyboardist Paul Shaffer.

Finally, Peter Criss was produced by Vini Poncia, a onetime Ringo Starr co-writer who later produced a pair of key KISS albums, 1979’s Dynasty and 1980’s Unmasked. Most of the songs on Peter Criss had been written back in 1971 for the drummer/vocalist’s aptly named pre-KISS band, Lips. The album also boasts a rousing cover of Bobby Lewis’s No. 1 1961 hit single, “Tossin’ And Turnin’,” a song that KISS often wound up playing live during their 1979 Dynasty Tour.

Vocalist Mike Muir’s relationship with Converse started long before SUICIDAL TENDENCIES“When I was young, I still remember getting my first pair of ‘Chucks’ for my birthday and how stoked I was to wear them to school the next day,” says Muir, reflecting on the iconic sneaker. “It was almost like a rite of passage, the beautiful thing about them is whatever ‘direction’ you were headed, you could go there with your Chucks.
Converse x Suicidal Tendencies is a collection of Chuck 70’s and accompanying apparel based on digital and screen-printed graphics in the classic style of Ric Clayton, who designed posters and fliers for the band back in the ’80s. The Chuck 70 HI’s vintage canvas upper features an all-over digital print and the SUICIDAL TENDENCIES leather patch on the lateral side. An Ox version, comes in black with an all over digitally-printed lining. The SUICIDAL TENDENCIES logo is printed on the tongue and heel. Both the Hi and the Ox pair feature two sets of additional laces including a SUICIDAL TENDENCIES printed logo lace.
All apparel, which feature original, screen printed SUICIDAL TENDENCIES artwork, include a woven poplin shirt, two pull over hoodies, a pair of sweatpants, a pair of sweatshorts, one long sleeve tee, and two short sleeve tees.
The footwear will retail for a suggested retail price of $90-$95 USD. Apparel will retail for SRP of $35-$80 USD.
“All these years later, Converse has the same meaning to me,” adds Mike Muir. “Just as young Mike will never forget putting on his first pair of Chucks, I can’t wait to relive that amazing feeling with the new Converse x Suicidal Tendencies, a massively proud moment for the band, our fans and of course me personally!”

Anthrax are due to release a real collector’s piece to accompany their last LP For All Kings which really showed that the band may have started in 1981 but are very far from slowing down creatively. It is an absolutely stunning collector’s item for any Anthrax fan as this unboxing video will illustrate – There have been band members who have come and gone and come back again with that time period, but on wax and live they are clicking on all cylinders.  Luckily the band will be hitting Pittsburgh next month with Killswitch Engage and The Devil Wears Prada.

What makes the set special are the demo versions of many of the songs from For All Kings.  The raw intensity gives a “live” vibe that production polishing does not allow.  Of course, this might be an acquired taste for some, but true Anthrax fans and collectors will be thrilled.  The nuanced differences take a discerning ear at times, but give a bit of insight into the process of creation, particularly through the instrumentation working in syncopation.  Also, the box set has never released in the U.S tracks that were not readily available previously (Check out“Vice of the People,” the “new-to-the-U.S.” track, as well as two cover songs, including an unexpected White Stripes tune (so perfect for a thrash make-over it’s sick).

Available exclusively in North America and released in conjunction with the band’s upcoming Spring co-headline tour with Killswitch Engage – “KillThrax” – thrash metal icon ANTHRAX – Frank Bello/bass, Scott Ian/guitar, Joey Belladonna/vocals, Charlie Benante/drums, Jonathan Donais/guitar – announces the release of the limited edition “For All Kings 7-Inch Box Set” (Megaforce Records).  The set goes on sale March 24, will retail for $79.99.

The “For All Kings 7-Inch Box Set” includes a removable lenticular cover and contains 10 7-inch vinyl discs featuring 20 songs – the 11 finished album tracks, two brand new covers (The White Stripes’ “Black Math” and the classic Kansas song “Carry On”), six demos from the FAK track listing, and “Vice of the People,” a bonus track previously released only in Japan and now making its North American vinyl debut.  The original album cover art sketch by Alex Ross is also part of this package, as well as a download card enabling the holder to access the Box Set’s track listing for free.

Each 7-inch disc features gorgeous, double-sided four-color artwork designed by Douglas Heusser with additional art by Stephen Thompson, as well as band photos by Jimmy Hubbard.  The tracks are pressed onto different-colored vinyl discs – red, green, blue, maroon, orange, most with a two-color swirl design.

“Doing a box set edition of ‘For All Kings’ was something that we’ve always wanted to do,” said Benante, who worked closely with Heusser and Thompson on the box set’s artwork.  “We wanted to do something special, something that was so much more than the original release, and have it be fun for our audience when they open it up, just be floored by the different colored vinyl, the artwork, everything that’s inside.  And we think we’ve done that.”

Last year, the members of the band were hanging out at New York’s West Village bar Daddy-O and mentioned to owner Phil Casacelli how they’d love to have their own brand of beer.  Casacelli, a long-time fan of upstate New York’s Butternuts Beer & Ale Brewery, made a call to Chuck Williamson, owner of Butternuts, a metalhead and a long-time Anthrax fan, and everything started to fall into place for what would become Anthrax’s own craft beer, Wardance.  Wardance will be available in stores, bars and restaurants where craft beer is sold in New York State beginning March 27.  Plans are in the works to expand the distribution to other states around the country.
Said Anthrax’s Scott Ian, “I’ve wanted to do our own beer for a long time, it was just finding the right guy to make that a reality.  I am a fan of Butternuts, especially their Porkslap Pale Ale, and when I found out that Chuck was interested in doing a beer with us I immediately said yes.”
“Finding the right taste that all of us loved was really important,” Anthrax’s Charlie Benante explained, “but it was also important that the beer not leave people feeling heavy or filled up afterwards.  The other thing I love about our beer is that it goes really well with a burger.  It’s the one beer to have when you’re having a ‘Wardance.'”
Working closely with Williamson and his partner on the Wardance project, marketing guru David “Rev” Ciancio (who also counts Anthrax as one of his all-time personal favorites), Anthrax’s Ian, Benante, and Frank Bello wanted a distinct flavor for Wardance, one that would fit not only the band members’ personal preferences, but that their fans would enjoy as well.
“I spoke to Chuck and we talked about what we like/don’t like and what I would want from our beer,” added Ian.  “It was simple, a beer that would be very drinkable yet still have flavor.”
They decided on a pale ale style with a special blend of malts and hops to give it a unique flavor, and a “first batch” was brewed.  Williamson and Rev did a tasting with the band on their tour bus parked outside the St. Vitus club the night Anthrax headlined a benefit show there last September for Gilda’s Club NYC.  In addition and unbenownst to the band’s fans, a keg of that “first batch” was poured at the St. Vitus show with Williamson and Rev taking feedback from the fans.  Taking band and fans comments into consideration, Williamson did a little more tinkering in the beer lab with the ale’s recipe, one more Anthrax tasting which received a unanimous thumbs up from the band, and Wardance Pale Ale, available in 12 oz. cans, was inaugurated.
Wardance (5.5% abv) is brewed using a blend of both New York State and North American two-row malt barley and a blend of special malts to add color and depth of flavor.  The hops are sourced through New York State and West Coast growers.  A percent of the hops is added in the boil kettle and a percent post fermentation to create a unique flavor profile that balances the rich flavor and aroma of the specialty malts with the delicate aroma of the select hops.  The result is a recognizable beer with a unique character that sets Wardance apart from other beers out in the market today.
Anthrax will hit the road beginning March 29, co-headlining a 27-date North American tour – Killthrax – with Killswitch Engage, and The Devil Wears Prada as main support.  Dates and more info are here.

As part of the band’s 35th anniversary year, Anthrax released one of 2016’s most-anticipated metal/thrash albums, For All Kings (February 26/Megaforce in North America/Nuclear Blast internationally), that debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Chart, and #9 on the Top 200, becoming Anthrax’s highest-charting album in more than two decades.  Written by drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello and guitarist Scott Ian, the dynamic triumvirate whose unique composition chemistry is, in part, what sets Anthrax’s music apart from other bands’ in the same genre, combined with Joey Belladonna’s breathtaking vocals and the searing guitar leads by newest member Jonathan Donais, it’s no wonder the album and the band’s live shows have consistently received tremendous reviews.
Over its 35-year career, Anthrax has been a pioneering band with its unique style, sound and heavy brand of thrash metal, and, as Metallica’s Kirk Hammett put it, “one can hear their influence on any number of up and coming bands.”  Anthrax has sold in excess of 10-million units, received multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, six Grammy nominations and a host of other accolades from the media, industry and fans.  From the race and genre barriers Anthrax helped break down in 1988 when they collaborated with Public Enemy on “Bring The Noise,” to becoming a card-carrying member of The Big Four – with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth – as one of the four bands that defined the speed/thrash metal genre, to being the first metal band to have its music heard on Mars when NASA played “Got The Time” to wake up the Mars Rover, Anthrax continues to break ground and innovate.  On December 13, 2016, the Epiphone/Revolver Music Awards presented Anthrax with its first-ever “Innovator Award” to acknowledge the band’s contribution to music.

In the half century since its release, The Who’s debut album My Generation hasn’t lost any of its raw, visceral power and still stands as the ultimate musical declaration of teenage rebellion. The title track alone has been covered innumerable times by the likes of Oasis, Green Day, Patti Smith, Billy Joel, Alice Cooper and Iron Maiden amongst many more.

Back in 1965, the band was considered to be so dangerous that the tailors tasked with turning a Union Jack into a pop art mod jacket for the cover feared that they would be jailed for desecration of the nation’s flag.

The Who’s surly demeanour that day in 1965 at Surrey Docks and the brazen appropriation of the symbol of state is the best advert possible for My Generation. It’s an album that sounds like it looks: terse, confrontational and full of youthful angst and energy.

Brunswick Records first issued My Generation in the UK in December 1965, and later in the U.S. under the title The Who Sings My Generation in April 1966, and was produced by Shel Talmy who shot to fame with his work with The Kinks, a group that the teenage Pete Townshend admired greatly.

During a break in touring in 2015 Pete Townshend discovered tapes in his audio archive featuring previously unheard demos for the album which also included three totally unreleased songs that The Who hadn’t ever revisited The Girls I Could Have Had,” “As Children We Grew” and “My Own Love.”

The spectacular 79-track, five-disc super-deluxe edition of My Generation features these unheard songs as well as unreleased demos, unreleased alternate mixes, new remasters and a stereo remix which was created using new overdubs from Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend. For this mix Townshend used the same exact guitars and amps as the original album with Roger using same type of microphone.

The super-deluxe edition also features a stunning 80-page color book with many rare and unseen period photos, candid and insightful new notes from Pete Townshend and period memorabilia.

Of the super-deluxe box set Pete Townshend commented Gathering these demos for this collection has been enjoyable; it’s wonderful for me to have these tapes made fifty-two years ago to listen to. I hope you enjoy them. They have a naiveté and innocence, a simplicity and directness, and an ingenuousness that reveals me as a young man struggling to keep up with the more mature and developed men around me. What an incredible group of strong, talented, young and engaging men they were!”

Superjoint release “Caught Up In The Gears Of Application”

dsc_6635SUPERJOINT was resurrected in 2015 after the original band broke up a decade earlier. At the behest of the late Corey Mitchell, co-founder of The Housecore Horror Film Festival, SUPERJOINT founders Philip H. Anselmo (Down, Pantera, Scour, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Arson Anthem et al), Jimmy Bower (Down, Eyehategod), and Kevin Bond (Christ Inversion, Artimus Pyledriver et al) joined forces with longtime comrades, drummer José “Blue” Gonzalez (Warbeast, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals) and bassist Stephen Taylor (Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Woven Hand, 16 Horse Power). A new era of the band was born.

Consequently, the band members found true joy in playing together again. After just two tours, new material followed culminating in the scathing sounds of Caught Up In The Gears Of Application. “The minute we started writing, I knew this record would be brutal,” reflects Bower. “Sticking to our true hardcore roots and signature SUPERJOINT sound, we accomplished a record that needed to happen in today’s underground. It’s pissed off! After being on hiatus for eleven-plus years, the chance at a new SUPERJOINT record wasn’t something we took lightly. With newcomers Steven and Joey, we were psyched and eager to get in the Lair and start writing and after two tours with the new lineup, we were able to hit the writing hard! Didn’t take long to accomplish, and we stood and smirked at the playback of what would be the new SUPERJOINT record. With songs like ‘Receiving No Answer To The Knock’ and ‘Sociopathic Herd Delusion’ we had everything to smirk about! This record brings our viscous style of hardcore back to life. Pissed off with everything to prove, SUPERJOINT is back!”

Adds Anselmo of the offering, ““The overall theme means many things, or no things, but there is an underlying message regardless, about how modern technology — computers and all that comes with them, mainly — has affected our lives. As a musician, it has affected my life both negatively (music being stolen) and positively (being in touch with fellow musicians around the world and staying visible). But when looking at the broader spectrum, computer-land has given everyday people a platform in which to bellow like carnival barkers about anything and everything, humdrum or political, whether qualified or not, some with good intentions, some with disingenuous intentions, and some with ideas that lay somewhere in the middle, creating a mishmash of results.”

Preorders bundles for SUPERJOINT’s Caught Up In The Gears Of Application are available via Housecore at THIS LOCATION. For digital preorders, point your browser HERE or HERE.

SUPERJOINT will bring their venom to the stage for their official record release show on November 12th, 2016 in Dallas, their only US appearance of the year. Tickets are on sale now!

PG.LOST Swedish Instrumentalists Stream Versus Full-Length At Decibel; Record To Drop This Friday Via Pelagic + European Dates Supporting Alcest And Mono Confirmed

“At seven songs, Versus runs the gamut from calm and serene to thunderous and powerful, hitting every point in between.” — Decibel

Long-running Swedish post-rock collective PG.LOST will unveil the breathtaking sounds of their fifth full-length, Versus, this Friday via Pelagic Records. A true post-rock masterwork, Versus is brimming with melancholic depth, emotional heaviness, and catchy musical ideas delivered as one in an incredible mass of sound. It’s sometimes easy to forget that there are only four people creating these vast orchestral landscapes.

In advance of its release, today Decibel Magazine is streaming the offering in its entirety noting, “The Swedish instrumentalists have an ear for creating soundscapes that serve as epic listening experiences, and with Versus, PG.LOST makes it clear that their new album is no exception. At seven songs, Versus runs the gamut from calm and serene to thunderous and powerful, hitting every point in between.”

Comments the band, “With a few albums, in hindsight we can proudly say that we’ve achieved something special with Versus and maybe for the first time in ten years we’ve created an album that sonically sounds the way we wanted it to. It’s not the typical post-rock trip but instead it’s a full-bodied intense journey with our recipe of growling bass, heavy drums and wide guitars – but this time surrounded with an electric atmosphere.”

Hear the swelling sounds of PG.LOST’s Versus at THIS LOCATION.

Fans of Mono, Explosions In The Sky, Mogwai, Cult Of Luna, EF, Caspian, and Russian Circles pay heed.

Said Echoes And Dust of the offering,Versus is a real gem of an album. There are so many facets to behold, to analyze, and to appreciate. Sometimes it is a sluggish and lumbering beast of a track with slow riffs and heavy tones. Other times, it’s got a driving beat behind it, flirting with post-metal territory. My favorite times are the cinematic passages of electronica-lead calmness, like it was a bonus track from the ‘It Follows’ soundtrack.” In a 9.5/10 review Progressive Music Planet gushes, “Where have you been all my life, PG.LOST?… Too often I think I’ve heard everything but then an album like Versus comes along and shakes me. This is how to make powerful instrumental music.Versus is without a doubt one of the better albums of 2016.” Adds South China Morning Post, “Much like sonic peers Mogwai and Explosions In The Sky, PG.LOST create haunting soundscapes through the rise and fall of dense percussion and intricate guitar play, and while they have sometimes lost their way, here they have achieved a harmonious balance.”

The sound of PG.LOST is throbbing with great melancholy, but there’s also a certain element of dirty rock ‘n’ roll found deep within, as in the crushingly heavy closing section of monumental opening track “Ikaros,” in the distorted bass line kicking off the second movement, “Off The Beaten Path,” or in the huge roomy drum sound in general.

The band bought their own studio just before the recordings of Versus, which made the recording process both easier and more difficult. “It’s easy to play around too much when you don’t have studio time that is costing money,” comments guitarist Gustav Almberg. Additionally, the effect-saturated vocals, which were a trademark on previous PG.LOST releases, have disappeared on Versus, and given way to more keys and synths. “Kristian was in the middle of heavy touring with Cult Of Luna playing keys every day during that time, so he had a lot of synth-based ideas for songs. I guess this has helped us to take the band into a bit of a new direction sound wise.”

GHOUL release: Dungeon Bastards

Creepsylvania’s favorite hooded, cannibal splatterthrashers, GHOUL, will return with their fifth studio album this Summer. Fittingly titled Dungeon Bastards, the eleven-track audio abduction was recorded and mixed by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City) at Antisleep Studios in Oakland, California, mastered by Dan Randall (Impaled, Annihilation Time, Fucked Up, Necrot) at Mammoth Sound in San Francisco, California, and comes adorned in the ghoulightful graphics of Mark W. Richards of Heavy Hand Illustration (Pig Destroyer, The Black Dahlia Murder, Toke, Black Fast). With Dungeon Bastards, the metal punk maniaxe in GHOUL will rip your flesh with speed and riffs… before eating it.

Said Nerdist of the band’s first single, “Ghoulunatics,” “Close your eyes and imagine what a band called GHOUL might sound like. Picture an album called Dungeon Bastards and a song called ‘Ghoulunatics.’ Now open your eyes and press play. Chances are, this sounds exactly like you thought it would. Crazy, thrash metal with a hint of humor, and a focus on ripping. These guys probably are armed with swords and axes while they play, slaying demons in between solos. Is it ridiculous? Sure, maybe a little, but we can’t help but love it. There’s no denying these guys have skills and know how to thrash.”
GHOUL’s Dungeon Bastards will rear its mutinous head from the subterranean bowls of Creepsylvania on July 29th, 2016 on CD, vinyl, and digital formats courtesy of the sound assassins at Tankcrimes Records. CD preorders are currently available at THIS LOCATION.
The record will also come in slime green and blood red vinyl options with a gatefold jacket that opens into the Dungeon Bastards board game. Players take turns advancing through a Creepsylvanian map; the first one to get to end of the map and jump the Wall Of Death wins. Vinyl preorders are currently available HERE. Desirers of the digitals can satisfy their needs HERE where you can also try your ears at first single, “Ghoulunatics.”

In conjunction with the release of Dungeon Bastards, GHOUL will level the stages of seventeen venues supporting Carcass and Crowbar this Summer. The One Foot In The Grave Tour 2016 will commence on July 17th and run through August 8th with additional support provided by Night Demon.

Faith No More Reissue Landmark Debut Album, We Care A Lot, on Aug. 19

“With We Care A Lot, I always felt like I was part of something new and different than anything else out there at the time. It made me feel privileged to be a part of it. The other guys were so cool, and there was so much camaraderie. And that came across in the music; Bordin’s drums battling it out with Billy’s bass in antagonistic harmony, Roddy’s melodic atmosphere, swallowed up by Jim’s crunchy metal riffs. I found my place somewhere between them all, and when the album was finished, it didn’t sound like anything else.” – Chuck Mosley

SAN FRANCISCO, June 2, 2016 – Faith No More’s landmark debut, We Care A Lot, which was initially released in 1985 and has been out of print for 20 years, sees an Aug. 19 reissue via Bill Gould’s Koolarrow Records.

“This was an album that started as a demo, before any label had any interest in us,” explained Faith No More bass player Bill Gould. “There were a couple of reasons we decided to release this now: first of all, it’s been 20 years since it has been commercially available. Secondly, when cleaning out my basement, I discovered the original master reels, and we all thought that resurrecting this from the original tapes would be a great way to reintroduce We Care A Lot into the world. Lastly, this has been a band effort; we are releasing this in the same way as we recorded it, deciding everything amongst ourselves and getting our hands deep into the nuts and bolts… just like we used to.”

The original 10-song album, remastered by Maor Appelbaum via the original reels Gould eluded to, is enhanced with nine bonus tracks including demo versions (taken from the original 8-track tapes) of “Greed,” “Mark Bowen,” “Arabian Disco” and “Intro,” live versions of “The Jungle” and “New Beginnings” and new mixes, via Matt Wallace, of “We Care A Lot,” “Pills for Breakfast” and “As The Worm Turns.” Liner notes from keyboard player Roddy Bottum and behind-the-scenes photos will be included with the physical release. We Care A Lot (Deluxe Band Edition) is available now for pre-order on CD (, digital ( and vinyl (

We Care A Lot arrived in November 1985 via Maximum RocknRoll editor Ruth Schwartz’s Mordam Records. The seminal album, boasting the timeless title track, which can still be heard daily on radio stations worldwide, confounded music fans and critics alike. As Pitchfork said in a 2015 article dubbed “The Misunderstanding of Faith No More,” the unpredictable and hard-to-define band “had radically altered the parameters of popular music years before the fabled alternative revolution.” Rolling Stone called it a “raw punk album” whileSelect Magazine dubbed it “a lustful marriage of mutoid metal and dance floor verve.”

“When strangers ask what Faith No More is I’ve always said, ‘well, it’s kind of an art band…’ I say that mostly to distance us from the hard rock world that we’re often times lumped into. I mean, hard rock, sure, that was part of it, but our roots most definitely and pointedly stem from a specific freakout art time and place in San Francisco, a time that no longer exists. In 1982, the hippies mingled with the punks, the artists hung out with the musicians, the dance people and the punks were one and the Satanists and the sexual pioneers… all part of the same scene,” Bottum explains, colorfully setting the scene for the original inspiration for the band and We Care A Lot. “That weird SF window provided a platform from which we were free to express and cultivate a really uniquely odd sound experience. In Los Angeles, no one really cared much, but SF was always super supportive, encouraging us, directly and not, to get our collective freak on.”

“We felt like it was time to take the next step,” adds drummer Mike Bordin. “We raised as much money as we were able and booked time at Prairie Sun Studios just north of San Francisco. I can’t remember how long it took us to record the album, but not a lot, maybe a few days. The songs were sharp from having played most of them at various shows.  Very stripped down, basic as could be.  The place was on a farm in chicken country (Petaluma). Hard work, but a ton of fun too.”

There will be no more MOTÖRHEAD tours because Lemmy is no longer here, and many, many people did not get a chance to hear them one more time on what proved to be their last-ever piece of road work. This makes Clean Your Clock a vitally important release.  It is both a celebration and an epitaph, glorious yet not without melancholy, maintaining the warmth and curve of Motörhead‘s unique live sound.
On November 20 and 21, 2015, at the Zenith in Munich, Germany, UDR made the decision to record – what happened to be the very last live shows ever recorded – and MOTÖRHEADproceeded to deliver two storming sold out shows. Where there had once been almost too-fast breakneck pace, there was measured yet still thunderous rock’n’roll served up only as they could, Phil Campbell playing better and better, and Mikkey Dee elevating the art of drumming to the superlative heights which made him one of metal’s most coveted skinsmen. Lemmy sounds so dialed in, a little mean even (in the best possible way) snarling here and there, cackling when appropriate, and singing in a way which will defy every single pre-conceived expectation you might have had.  Yes, he was fighting ailments.  But no, he was not flimsy or faded, in fact on Clean Your Clock he lays down the marker for all near-70 year olds in terms of wicked bad-assery.
Clean Your Clock is the natural sound of one of rock’n’roll’s mightiest, rarest and most astoundingly excellent beasts – MOTÖRHEAD.  There isn’t a plaudit they haven’t received and there isn’t a plaudit they don’t deserve.  And if there had to be a ‘final’ MOTÖRHEADalbum, perhaps it is fitting that Clean Your Clock, a superb live encapsulation of the band at home, is the one.
So TURN-THIS-UP because as Lemmy himself said, the only way to feel the noise is when it’s good and loud… and remember Lemmy and MOTÖRHEAD in the best possible way!
Clean Your Clock Tracklisting:

Steve Vai’s “Passion and Warfare”: A Deluxe Vinyl Anniversary Experience

This summer,Friday Music will celebrate the legendary guitarist Steve Vai’s landmark solo breakthrough with the stunning Passion and Warfare-25th Anniversary Edition.
This exclusive Friday Music first time 180 Gram Audiophile vinyl is impeccably mastered and enhanced on 2 LP CLEAR Lps with 4 recently unearthed bonus tracks, featured in a first time gatefold cover presentation and pressed at R.T.I.
Passion and Warfare established the guitarist as a solo force to be reckoned with. Recorded entirely in Vai’s Mothership home studio, Passion and Warfarerepresents Steve Vai as a melodic, heavy guitarist with a gift for remarkable composition and a deep desire to convey the mystical and the metaphysical through his every last note.
The result was nothing short of stellar. The album was championed by critics: Guitar Player and Guitar World named it the best album of 1990, and both magazines showered him with individual awards;Guitar Player awarded Vai the titles of Best Rock Guitarist for the fifth year in a row and Best Overall Guitarist for the third year in a row, while Guitar World named him Best Rock Guitarist and deemed “For the Love of God” the year’s best guitar solo. (A subsequent Guitar World readers’ poll voted “For the Love of God” as one of the 100 greatest guitar solos of all time.)
Passion and Warfare was commercially successful. Boosted by the fan-favorite video for “The Audience is Listening,” which received heavy rotation on MTV, the album peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard 200-no small feat for an instrumental guitar album. This crossover appeal set the stage for Vai’s continued successes throughout his career.
For this Friday Music 180 Gram Clear Vinyl limited edition of Passion and Warfare, newly remastered from the original analog tapes, will include four newly discovered recordings from the album sessions: “Love Elixir,” “We Are One,” “As Above” and “So Below.”
Joe Reagoso from Friday Music comments “Steve Vai is absolutely the voice of millions of guitar enthusiasts across the globe. When one revisits ‘Passion and Warfare’, it truly signifies the importance and sound of this guitar hero. He always surprises his fans with some of the most exciting guitar work that is often emulated but never duplicated. A true guitar genius and an American original!”
Known for his intense, virtuosic and instantly recognizable guitar style, Vai-a onetime student of Joe Satriani-rose to prominence in 1980 when Frank Zappa invited the 20-year-old guitarist to join his touring band. He has since performed with a variety of acts from Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne to Joe Jackson and heavy metal group Alcatrazz (where he replaced fellow virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen).
Vai remains one of the most honored guitarists of the past few decades. He’s won three Grammy Awards and garnered another eight nominations. In a Guitar World reader poll in 2012, Vai was voted the 10th greatest guitarist of all time. A seven-string guitar designed by Vai for Ibanez has been utilized by progressive and metal bands including Korn and Dream Theater. Guitarists from Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine to Mike Eizinger of Incubus have cited him as major influences on their playing.
And Vai still makes a name for himself as a relentless live performer. Shortly after the release of his album Fire Garden, Vai joined former teacher Satriani on the inaugural superstar guitar summit G3 in 1996; his highly stylized sets have been a fixture of subsequent G3 tours since then. This spring, Vai leads the Generation Axe tour, featuring Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, Nuno Bettencourt and Tosin Abasi in an onslaught of six-string supremacy.

Boombox – Early Independent Hip Hop, Electro and Disco Rap 1979-82

Listen HERE

New release on Soul Jazz Records released 3 June 2016

Distributed in USA by RED EYE

Soul Jazz Records’ new ‘Boombox’ features some of the many innovative underground first-wave of rap records made in New York in the period 1979-82, all released on small, independent, often family-concern record companies, at a time when hip-hop music still remained under the radar.

This first exuberant wave of innocent, upbeat, ‘party on the block’ rap records were the first to try and create the sounds heard in community centres, block parties and street jams that first took place in the Bronx in the mid-1970s. But where Flash, Kool Herc and Bambaataa were back-spinning, mixing and scratching together now classic breakbeat records like The Incredible Bongo Band’s ‘Apache’ or Babe Ruth’s ‘The Mexican’, these first rap records were all made using live bands, often replaying then current disco tunes, whilst MCs rapped over the top, creating a unique sound that later became known derisively as ‘old school’.

And while hip-hop started in the Bronx, rap on vinyl began in Harlem where long-time established rhythm and blues producer-owned record companies such as Joe Robinson’s Enjoy Records, Paul Winley’s Winley Records, Delmar Donnel’s Delmar International and Jack ‘Fatman’ Taylor’s Rojac and Tayster were the first off the mark to realise the commercial potential of rap music – releasing early ground-breaking records that all quickly followed in the wake of the first rap record, The Sugarhill Gang’s Rappers Delight, a million-selling worldwide hit.

This collection celebrates these first old-school rap records, bringing together rare, classic and obscure tracks released in the early days of rap.

Deluxe double CD-pack comes with slipcase, 40-page outsize perfect-bound booklet, extensive notes, exclusive photography and original label artwork. Triple-vinyl heavyweight vinyl includes full artwork, text and notes as well as free download code.

HULL: New Seven-inch From Sludge Rock Collective Out Now

Long-running Brooklyn sludge rock collective, HULL, in cooperation with the taste-makers at Vice/Noisey, hurl forth a stream of their brand “new” hymn entitled, “Swamp Goat.”

Originally tracked in 2007, “Swamp Goat” laid dormant while the band penned material for their critically-lauded Sole Lord full-length. After a grueling tour schedule and follow-up release, 2011’s sprawling Beyond The Lightless Sky full-length, “Swamp Goat” was lost in the caves and forgotten… until now.

The tune features on the band’s forthcoming Legend Of The Swamp Goat seven-inch released TODAY via HULL‘s own Iron Orchestra Works imprint and Midnight Collective. Bearing the stunning artwork of Nathan Overstrom, the single appears on Side A while an etching occupies Side B. Legend Of The Swamp Goat comes in limited pink, blue, green, and white vinyl.

Elaborates Noisey, “True to form, this ‘new’ tune bombards the listener from every angle with clever arrangements and bluesy bluster. ‘Swamp Goat’ is a hazy, hellbent ride through thickets of distortion and syrupy sludge.”

Turn it up at THIS LOCATION.

In related news, HULL will bring their walls of sonic enormity overseas for a stint of live rituals alongside Boston doom rock bringers, Elder. The tour will commence on April 14th, following HULL‘s previously announced appearance on this year’s edition of Roadburn in Tilburg, Holland, and swarm fourteen cities with included performances at Desertfest in Berlin and London. A European-only exclusive sea-foam colored version of the Legend Of The Swamp Goat single will be available throughout the tour.

HULL materializes as a massive entity storming stages and immersing their audiences in a blanket of grandiose down-tuned compositions. A shifting fault line of decibel heavy harmony, this collective force converges in a collision of thrash, doom, classic rock, and formal orchestral works. HULL commands their listeners through each riff with incredible precision, as a seafarer guides vessels through ominous waters. Submerged in cosmic soundscapes, HULL challenges the mind with flowing, off-time fugues and powerful, dynamic movements. Brace yourself for an onslaught of eruptive force as a new world of music is formed in the deafening clap of thunder that is HULL.

As one of the cornerstones of British Rock, Rainbow, led by the never-predictable but ever-astonishing guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, became synonymous with some of the most well regarded and popular charting Rock songs of the seventies and eighties.  From the mystic and quasi-religious ‘Man On The Silver Mountain’ to the solid gold anthems of ‘All Night Long’, ‘Long Live Rock ‘N’ Roll’ and ‘Since You Been Gone’, each year in the decade of Rainbow was marked by some of the best songs and performances captured both on record and in-concert.

WARFATHER: Entire Debut Album From Ex-Morbid Angel Frontman Now Playing At Revolver

The debut release from ex-Morbid Angel bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker’s endtime death metal outfit,WARFATHER, is upon the masses, as Greyhaze Records released the mighty Orchestrating The Apocalypseon January 21st in North America, and its February 24th European release is closing in.

Acclaim from around the globe on the devastating yet atmospheric Orchestrating The Apocalypse is raining in, the album winning over diehard critics from the old-school and with current writers, and fans of all eras of Morbid Angel. Trading in his bass to handle all guitar and vocal duties with WARFATHER, Tucker recruited a crew of internationally-based executioners to complete the lineup, the collective meeting at Cincinnati-based TME Studios to record their brutal, apocalyptic vision with Tucker handling recording duties. Finalized at Maor Appelbaum Mastering, Orchestrating The Apocalypse hellishly dispatches a dozen tracks which expand upon the three Tucker-fronted Morbid Angel albums —Formulas Fatal To The Flesh, Gateways To Annihilation and Heretic — delivering an intense, debilitating performance while infusing unique even bizarre atmospheric elements, elevating the album to a cutting-edge status.

With the album now infiltrating the airwaves, Revolver Magazine is broadcasting the Orchestrating The Apocalypse message in its decimating entirety AT THIS LOCATION.

North American fans can purchase the CD version of Orchestrating The Apocalypse — a six-panel digipak with a twelve-page booklet — now direct from Greyhaze HERE and Earsplit Distro HERE.

“Surely helping to craft three pre-Illud Morbid Angel records, performing with anthropological legends Nile and recently fronting Nader Sadek’s all-star eco-death art project must earn him status as a scene fixture. But the 42-year-old vocalist/guitarist’s excitement for Warfather’s debut feels as green and contagious as that of any shredder half his age.” – Decibel

“Orchestrating the Apocalypse sounds straight out of ’99 – after engineers got comfortable with triggering drums, but before they got uppity about artificially fixing performances.” – Invisible Oranges

“…a strong militant vibe is felt throughout the record. Additionally, its broad scope and dense sound recalls an act like Nile or Origin. Most enjoyable must be the guitar performances, as Tucker and Armatura don’t simply play fast, but engage in a wide manner of the off-beat and the intense. A strong, often devastating death metal record. 4/5” –

“The record gives Morbid Angel fans what they’ve known Steve Tucker for, but also infuses additional elements that might take some by surprise.” – Metal Assault

“…it is clear that the shadow cast by Formulas Fatal To The Flesh has not yet been outrun. Quite simply this is atonal and brutal death metal.” – The Sludgelord

“Warfather’s debut stands as a promising startup and shows Steve Tucker still firing on all cylinders, worthy of his status in the death metal realm. More atmospheric thanone would expect, while still heavy enough to scorch the earth… 8/10” – Dead Rhetoric
