RELEASE NEW TRACK “ECHOES OF YOU FT. ROGER JOSEPH MANNING, JR.” OFF UPCOMING ALBUM PHANTOMS OUT MARCH 1 |
“Since 2001, Marianas Trench has been putting out pop-influenced bops, and their newest song, “I Knew You When,” is no exception.” – Odyssey “Canadian progressive pop band Marianas Trench chronicles the trials and tribulations of a messy, passionate, and often gut-wrenching relationship.” – PopDust “The new songs demonstrate that the Vancouver-based band still has as much energy and attitude as they did when they released their last album, 2015’s Astoria.” – AXSNew York, NY – February 12, 2019 – Multiplatinum progressive pop band, Marianas Trench release a new track titled “Echoes of You Ft. Roger Joseph Manning, Jr.” “I wanted to set an album from the perspective of someone descending into madness as he inhabits a house haunted by the ghost of his former love. I looked to Edgar Allan Poe for inspiration. Strangely, the date he was rushed to the hospital preceding his death was October 3rd, the same day our first album was released, and the same date I was once to be married. Even more strangely, we finished this album on January 19th, his birthday. I’m not one for superstition, but that does feel oddly serendipitous.” – Josh Ramsay (lead singer)Phantoms stays true to the pattern of past Marianas Trench albums in having a loose concept connecting all of the songs. While 2015’s Astoria paid tribute to 1980s fantasy films and 2011’s Ever After was based in a fictional kingdom of Toyland, Phantoms shows Ramsay and company addressing more adult situations. The band recently announced their 2019 Suspending Gravity U.S. tour and tickets are on sale now at www.marianastrench.net. The 24-date tour will be held at venues that will give the fans more of an up-close-and personal live experience, and feature the powerhouse Vancouver quartet’s signature high-energy performance, while showcasing material from their forthcoming studio album Phantoms in addition to hits from their previous double platinum and gold-selling albums. With a slew of Top 10 radio hits to its credit such as “Who Do You Love,” “Rhythm Of Your Heart,” “Fallout,” and “Haven’t Had Enough,” Marianas Trench is constantly pushing the boundaries of pop, and translating that into their explosive live shows. In supporting Astoria, the band completed three headlining tours of the U.S., two headlining arena tours in Canada, and two club tours in Europe. They’ve also toured in Australia, New Zealand, and Korea. Along with double platinum and gold digital singles, the band has also garnered multiple SOCAN and MMVA Awards, number 1 videos on MuchMusic, JUNO Award nominations and won the 2013 JUNO Award for Group of the Year. Ramsay also received a GRAMMY nomination in 2013 for co-writing and producing Carly Rae Jepsen’s international breakthrough smash and certified U.S. diamond selling single “Call Me Maybe.” Stay tuned for more news on Marianas Trench and for additional information or to purchase tickets, please visit www.marianastrench.net.
