The Glorious Sons, a Canadian band, released their sophomore album, Young Beauties & Fools, in October (2017, via BMG US). Lead single “Everything Is Alright” was named Apple’s Music’s “Best of the Week” and rocketed straight to the Top 10 at Alternative Radio.
Led by brothers Brett (vocals) and Jay Emmons (guitar), The Glorious Sons have produced an album that blends indie rock, folk, and blues, and is saturated with heartfelt, nostalgic, and bittersweet lyrics. Rounded out at 10-tracks, it chronicles the adventures (and frequent misadventures) of Brett Emmons and the confusion of young adulthood. YBAF was also nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the 2018 JUNO Awards.
The guys have been hailed for their “earnest and emphatic songwriting” (Music Existence) and lauded as “relatable and catchy…with a whole lot of heart” (Spill Magazine). You’ll like the band if you’re a fan of Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, and Kings of Leon. They’ll be supporting J. Roddy Walston & the Business at Stage AE in Pittsburgh on Saturday, 3/31.
