PA native brings Denver’s critically acclaimed Augustus to Moondogs 9/15

Augustus hits the road for a 3 week national tour that will bring them to new major markets like Chicago, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn, and Boston all at a grueling pace.  19 shows in 22 days to be exact.  But who’s counting.

This Spring, the hardworking 4pc made their SXSW debut in Austin and have been touring and tracking a new record ever since.

Born in Reading, and a 2005 graduate of IUP, the multi-instrumentalist and co-founder of Augustus, Jim Herlihy is excited to return to his home state and connect with friends and family.  And Yuengling.  He’s excited for Yuengling.

“‘The Mercury EP’ marks a new era for Colorado’s Augustus with a full blown rock sound that is bold, tight, and unyielding.” – Riley Ann, Bolderbeat, 10/10/16
“It’s the perfect example of the group’s ability to take their multi-faceted sound and put forth something that no longer sounds like a blending of styles, but rather a succinct, continuous sound of their own.” – Brian Johnson, Marquee Magazine 10/1/16
“Strong songwriting and heartfelt performances still remain, and in many ways this sound feel more honest to their musical vision and voice.  ‘The Mercury EP’ adds new range to Augustus’ already impressive catalog. ” – Jeremy Fleischer, Scene Magazine, 1/1/17
Formed in late 2013, Augustus has released 3 critically acclaimed albums while morphing from an acoustic trio with a fanatic local following to a relentlessly touring 4pc rock band with eyes on the nation stage.  Their last 2 albums have debuted on college radio stations across the US and Canada and have both been licensed for use by MTV, Discovery Channel, and the E! Channel. Singles have appeared on national podcasts and their latest album was included in The Appetizer Radio Show’s Top 14 albums of 2016.
This will be the band’s first time performing in Pennsylvania.
