Miner is a folk/indie-rock band from Los Angeles, formed by husband and wife Justin & Kate Miner along with Justin’s brother Jeremy Miner and drummer Tobias Urbanczyk. Their self-released debut album Into The Morning (2014) had singles “Hey Love” and “Carousel” rack up millions of streams and reach #2 on HypeMachine, sending them on 75+ national tour dates alongside acts like The Eels, Typhoon, Cayucas, Sir Sly, and Lord Huron.
Their new album, Tuanaki (release date: 2/26/16), was produced by Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Modest Mouse, Band of Horses) in Seattle, WA, and was recorded while the band waited for blood test results that would determine whether Kate was carrying a fatal genetic condition known as Huntington’s Disease. While she ultimately tested healthy upon returning home, the uncertainty that hung over the recording process imbued the songs with a deep sense of urgency and consequence.
