From The Get Up Kids to a stint with My Chemical Romance, keyboardist James Dewees, is a one man wrecking crew. Not that he came alone to Altar Bar in Pittsburgh on Saturday night February 15, 2014, but he has proven himself to be a hilarious force to be reckoned with. Since the mid 1990’s Dewees has been toying with the sounds of “Reggie” and has always taken a bit of the joke approach. But the music is certainly no joke. In 2008 Dewees put Reggie and The Full Effect to rest for a bit only to resurrect them with a Kickstarter campaign in March of 2013 to fund the fantastically fun No Country For Old Musicians. Although Dewees plays nearly every instrument on Reggie’s recordings, he obviously cannot replicate that live, thus he brought in his band for the tour, but Reggie’s lineup for live performances changes frequently. Check out our review of No Country For Old Musicians here.
And check out some pix from their stellar performance at Altar Bar…
