Sound Of Contact and sci-fi fans worldwide can check out the exclusive worldwide premiere of the new video for “Pale Blue Dot” on USAToday.com. The stunning, cosmic-inspired video is taken from the band’s debut album, ‘Dimensionaut’, and follows the journey of a time and space traveller’s mission back on earth to bring about world peace, one human experience at a time.
Sound Of Contact’s debut concept album, Dimensionaut, was recently released internationally via prog rock label InsideOut, alongside Simon Collins’ own label Lightyears Music, resulting immediately in rave reviews from fans and critics alike. The UK’s Classic Rock declared ‘Dimensionaut’ to be a “unique album to repeatedly savour,” while global music website Renowned For Sound dubbed it “lush and awe-inspiring”. Sound Of Contact were just voted “Best New Band” taking home the “Limelight Award” at Prog Mag’s 2013 Progressive Music Awards. Sound Of Contact will soon take their music to the masses, with upcoming tour dates in North America to be announced shortly.
Co-produced by Collins and Sonic Reality’s Dave Kerzner, ‘Dimensionaut’ finds Collins at home behind the drum kit as well as out front, handling lead singer duties. He is joined on the album by Matt Dorsey (guitars and bass, backing vocals), Dave Kerzner (keyboards, backing vocals, sound design), Kelly Nordstrom (guitars and bass) with guest appearance by The Wishing Tree’s Hannah Stobart (vocals) and Wells Cunningham (cello, violin). ‘Dimensionaut’ was mixed by Nick Davis (Genesis, XTC), mastered by Grammy-Award-winning Gavin Lursen and features futuristic artwork designed by visionary graphic artist, Taavi Torim.
Sound of Contact will be appearing live this April, firstly on The Moody Blues Cruise (2nd-7th) and following immediately after on Cruise To The Edge (7th-12th). The band are also scheduled to perform at ROSfest in the US on the 3rd May 2014.
