Listen To World’s End Press Remix Chvrches ‘Lies’
Drag Me Home is a stand out track from Melbourne quartet World’s End Press’ self titled debut album. Drag Me Home now has a stand out video thanks to director Luci Schroder. Shot in Melbourne, the video follows one night in the lives of an array of suburban clubbers looking for something: connection, intimacy or just a good time.
An official remix by World’s End Press of Chvrches’ Lies has just been released. WEP’s John Parkinson said “I was getting Gary Numan vibes from the sound of the polysynth in the original and wanted to take that into a bass heavy, deep house feel.” World’s End Press have themselves recently been remixed by Factory Floor, Peaking Lights and Michael Ozone .
2013 has been a busy year for World’s End Press with shows in the US with Cut Copy, Australian tours with Hot Chip and Bloc Party and the release of their debut album in Australia through Liberation. The self titled debut was produced by Tim Goldsworthy (LCD Soundsystem, Cut Copy, Massive Attack) at Rockfield Studios in Wales and Bristol’s Massive Studio.
Goldsworthy encouraged the band to record as live as possible, rather than rely on sequencing or programming, and most of the recordings were cut to analogue tape. Drawing on a disparate array of influences – disco, krautrock, house, punk, techno, and Jamaican lovers rock, World’s End Press combine traditional instrumentation with live electronics to create intelligent, widescreen dance music.
