Let’s Be Strangers Again EP Out Now

“Meld[ing] different cultures and influences together to create his own fresh sound” – Paste Magazine

Rene Lopez is a musician that draws upon a wealth of influences and inspiration from rock, soul and salsa as well as artistry of African, Cuban and Brazilian descent for a sultry sound that will automatically move your hips.

Speaking of sultry, the new video for Rene’s song “Midnight Love” is just that as a sexy wolf man and his voluptuous she wolf search for each other during a hot night out on the town. Watch the video courtesy of Paste HERE.

“Midnight Love” is just one of five new songs on Rene’s latest EP Let’s Be Strangers Again, on which he manages to deftly, but subtly blur the traditional lines of his Latino New York influence.

“NYC is such a melting pot,” Lopez explains. “One of my favorite things to do is to just walk around this city where the people influence me everyday. The different music I hear from neighborhood to neighborhood…you go into my neighborhood where I have my studio in Williamsburg and all you hear blaring out of the windows is meringue. Just the diversity of New York influences me so much.”

This past year Rene has spent time traveling the globe and playing bass with Joseph Arthur and following this EP release Rene continues to tour Europe as the band’s main support.
