ELI “PAPERBOY” REED RETURNS TO PERFORMING FOR “NIGHTS LIKE THIS” EVENT AT UNION POOL IN BROOKLYN ON
NOVEMBER 14TH AND 15TH
REED TO DEBUT HIS NEW BAND, SONGS FROM HIS UPCOMING ALBUM FOR WARNER BROS. RECORDS, AND PRESENT SOME OF HIS FAVORITE MUSICAL ACTS
Singer-songwriter-guitarist-performer Eli “Paperboy” Reed has announced that he will perform at and curate “Nights Like This” – a very special two-night event at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on November 14th and 15th.
These are the first shows that the Boston-born, Mississippi and Chicago-bred Reed will perform with his new band and new sound; in his adopted hometown of Brooklyn. He will give fans a taste of the songs that will be included on his upcoming debut for Warner Bros. Records including the instant classic, “Nights Like This” which gives the event its name. The new album, which Reed produced himself with his guitarist and longtime collaborator Ryan Spraker represents a sonic evolution beyond the singer’s Soulful roots, taking his affinity for classic R&B and blending it with the ebullience of modern pop music. Listen to the single “Woo Hoo” here.
Reed will also present some of his favorite bands and DJs, to stamp “Nights Like This” with his personal style and vibe. Local vendors will be on hand selling vintage records, clothing, and ephemera. Expect special guests and surprises throughout both nights.
Night one will feature DJ’s Mr. Finewine (Host of WFMU’s Downtown Soulville), and The Honey Dripper (Daptone Records in-house selector). Night two will feature DJ Jay-Tram (Sinkane, DFA Records. Both nights will also feature support sets from High and Mighty Brass Band.
Vendors for both events will feature:
