Distant Correspondent Adds Margaret Darling of The Seedy Seeds To Fall Tour Lineup/ Howlers Cafe Pittsburgh 11/3

Trans-continental indie-rock super-group Distant Correspondent (featuring members of Goes Cube, Meanwhile Back in Communist Russia and more) are announcing the addition of guest vocalist Margaret Darling of The Seedy Seeds on their upcoming fall US tour, coming in support of the band’s upcoming debut album out October 22nd on Hot Congress / Old Flame Records.

Distant Correspondent front man David Obuchowski explains:

“Being in a band with members in different cities and even countries is pretty liberating. Sure, it’s not always the easiest thing in the world from a practical standpoint. But the flip-side is that it affords us the opportunity work with musicians we love, even if they don’t live close.

With that in mind, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be bringing along Cincinnati-based solo artist,MARGARET DARLING as our featured vocalist for our upcoming record release tour. We’re big fans of Margaret’s solo work, and her work in the now-defunct Cincinnati indie-pop powerhouse THE SEEDY SEEDS. In fact, when it came time to put together a show in Cincinnati for our record release tour, we asked Margaret Darling to share the bill with us before we tapped any other artist. Margaret’s music (as a solo artist and with her former band, The Seedy Seeds) has been described as “dizzying, perplexing and wonderfully fun” (NPR), and “no less than impressive – intimate and addictive” (CincyMusic.com).

A special note that a few weeks ago, we played a packed Bluebird Theater in Denver with local singer/songwriter Andrea Ball guesting as a vocalist. Andrea was fantastic, and you may be seeing her share the stage with us again in Denver.”

In addition, the band is announcing the formal release of their new “Shatter” 7″ (featuring the B-Side “Badlands” linked above) out September 23rd in the UK on Static Caravan Records, as well an exclusive non-album track track titled “Transitive” to appear on an upcoming Old Flame Records compilation out soon.
