-Singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov‘s new album The Weatherman was released in July, with praise from the New York Timesand Paste.com, which recently premiered the video for his single “Living Proof.” Gregory Alan currently is touring the U.S., and ticket giveaways will be running at select ThinkIndie stores such as Amoeba Records in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Denver Westword proclaims,“Bob Dylan once sang, ‘You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows,’ and you don’t need to be a singer-songwriter to realize that Isakov has created something truly stunning here.”
-Grammy-nominated artist Ethan Johns has produced classic albums for Ray LaMontagne and Ryan Adams, among others. His album If Not Now Then When? was released on August 6th, and the first edition was made using 180gm vinyl. If Not Now, Then When? contains an impeccably presented 24-page booklet.
-On Ben Rector‘s new album, The Walking in Between(available September 10th,) the singer-songwriter reflects on life’s simple pleasures, offers a fresh view on matters of the heart, examines the pursuit of material wealth, and recognizes the importance of the subtle struggles and modest victories of everyday living. The new set follows his previous two successful independent releases, 2010’s Into the Morning and 2011’s Something Like This, which together have sold over 70,000 copies. Having toured consistently since his junior year at the University of Arkansas, Rector has built an impressive fan base that enables him to routinely sell out venues. His current tour runs through November.
Last but not least, Lucy Schwartz‘s Timekeeper (available September 10th) features mature tones, poetic lyrics, and beautiful music. She’s had songs featured on various film soundtracks, and toured alongside artists including Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile and The Civil Wars. Her current single, “Boomerang,” appeared in the season finale of Arrested Development.
