On a beautiful autumn-feeling night, while the audience was treated to so much fun and good times on stage, the sunset decided to try and outshine the bands. Sadly, I do not have a photo of it, but imagine the most vivid orange and pink colors with a rainbow peaking through the clouds.

First up, Foxing. I had not heard of these guys before, but the number of people who expressed excitement about them being on the bill set my expectations high, and Foxing, to no surprise, easily met them. Their sound was a wonderful blend of moody and dark instrumentals with hard-hitting emotional lyrics/screams. It was almost hypnotic the way they instantly captured everyone’s attention, mine included. These guys were such a treat, and I can’t wait to see them perform again!

Next to the stage, Taking Back Sunday. As an elder millennial/emo, I have loved this band since high school in the early aughts. Getting to see them live always brings the best nostalgic feeling of simpler times. Guitarist/vocalist John Nolan was sadly absent, but in his place was their amazing former member, Fred Mascherino. We were treated to tunes old and new alike and every emo in attendance could be heard screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. Singer Adam Lazzara brought his normal bouncy, microphone-swinging antics in between praising/thanking the crowd for their constant support through the years. There is still time to catch them on tour, so don’t miss out!

Last, but not least, Coheed and Cambria. The stunning sunset mentioned earlier was also accompanied by a cool, gentle breeze. The perfect accessory for singer Claudio Sanchez’s infamous long and curly locks. Just as impressive as his hair are his guitar shredding and immense and distinct vocals. Everyone in the band displayed such joy and fun energy while interacting with the crowd and encouraging them to sing along with them. On stage was a huge LED screen displaying various galactic imagery, giving the performance that much more of a cinematic feel. This is a band that is best experienced live and since there are still plenty of dates left on this tour, go buy your tickets now!
