Where did this guy come from? With just two major releases (2017- This One’s For You and 2019- What You See Is What You Get) on Columbia Nashville, Luke Combs has skyrocketed up the country charts and has gone from Nashville bars to selling out major arenas in under a year.
This is not to give the impression that Combs has not been working at it for a while, he has releases going back to 2014 and in 2015 Combs’s first single, “Hurricane“, sold 15,000 copies in its first week,[6] and debuted at number 46 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart (Wikipedia). the number ones have continued to roll out with “When It Rains It Pours“, “Beautiful Crazy“, “One Number Away“, and “She Got the Best of Me” giving Combs five number ones on the Billboard country chart with his first five singles (Billboard).
They do not get more genuine than Luke, as I was able to witness his graciousness and humility as he interacted with fans at a meet and greet. He was also super appreciative of the gifts from PPG Paints Arena of a special official Pens hockey shirt with his name and some great Penguins hats. Very sociable and likable, Combs is sure to be a superstar for a long time to come (setlist at end of article)

Opener Morgan Wallen was a definite crowd-pleaser. His website describes his style as, “mixes boondock bangers, amped-up anthems and sensitive, shade-tree poetry like a one-man playlist”. Known for his mullet and his four singles, “The Way I Talk”, “Up Down“, which features Florida Georgia Line, “Whiskey Glasses“, and his current single “Chasin’ You”, Wallen had the crowd singing every word. Morgan stated in his bio that, “I’ve never been the type of person who’s good at getting my feelings out, so for me music is a way to do that,” Wallen explains. “I just hope people get to know me and see my true colors.”

Jameson Rodgers was also a crowd sensation and apparently a heartthrob. He brings together electrified rock & roll and Country songwriting on his new self-titled EP, released in January of 2018, with songs featured on Spotify’s New Boots and Wild Country playlists as well as Sirius XM’s On The Horizon. In addition to opening shows for Sam Hunt and Old Dominion, Rodgers has been selling out clubs throughout the south and Midwest this year.
