Rival Sons have shared an acoustic performance of their single “Too Bad,” which was recorded live at Bonnaroo’s Haybale Studio. The new acoustic take is streaming now on Rolling Stone Country and is available today at all DSPs. Rival Sons’ full Haybale Session, which includes acoustic performances of fan favorites “Do You Worst” and “Jordan,” will be released digitally Friday, August 23rd.
This fall Rival Sons will embark on a co-headlining U.S. tour alongside Stone Temple Pilots. Produced by Live Nation, the 12-city outing will kick off September 13th in Baltimore and see the two bands performing on intimate stages across the states including The Met Philadelphia, Ford Amphitheater in New York City, The Fillmore New Orleans and more, before wrapping October 9th in San Diego (see itinerary below). Dates in Norfolk, Pittsburgh and Cleveland have been recently added with the latter two on sale this Friday. Tickets for all other dates are on sale now at LiveNation.com
Produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Dave Cobb at Nashville’s famed RCA Studio A, and the equally legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, AL, Rival Sons’ new album FERAL ROOTS is available now via Low Country Sound/Atlantic Records.
FERAL ROOTS was first heralded with the release of lead single “Do Your Worst,” which hit #1 at Rock Radio. The track was hailed by Rolling Stone as “a relentless rocker with a gritty verse spearheaded by a sinister lead guitar riff and thumping drums. The track takes a deft turn when it hits the chorus, forgoing out-and-out guitar bombast for rousing gang vocals with singer Jay Buchanan leading the charge.” “Do Your Worst” is joined by an official music video that shows Rival Sons at their onstage best, alongside behind-the-scenes footage and a performance filmed at the aforementioned Studio A.
FERAL ROOTS is also highlighted by album standouts “Back In The Woods,” “Sugar On The Bone,” “Shooting Stars,” and “Too Bad,” the latter of which Rival Sons performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden and is currently Top 15 at Rock Radio.
“The primal intensity of FERAL ROOTS reflects a certain unrest at the heart of the album,” commented Buchanan. “With its nuanced explorations of both the wild and domestic struggles of love and truth, FERAL ROOTS ultimately argues for pushing beyond pure survival instincts and striving for something more exalted: to reclaim a long diluted genre through a galvanizing return to form.”
Rival Sons are: Jay Buchanan (vocals), Scott Holiday (guitar), Dave Beste (bass guitar), and Mike Miley (drums).
