Seattle, WA’s Subways On The Sun Releasing Sophomore Album “Capsize” This Friday! New Song “Tongues” Premiering Now at The Alternative

“…full of a charming grit and winding instrumentals… “Tongues” takes this raw sound and applies a distinct, lighter vocal approach to blend a beautiful musical dichotomy together. Each melody finds a place to land, fluidly aligning to the band’s tight structures.”- The Alternative

“Subways on the Sun offer up some powerful, guitar-driven pop on “Just to Be With You” that recalls the best of early Jimmy Eat World, Mew, and Muse.”- PopMatters

Seattle, WA indie rock outfit Subways on the Sun will release their sophomore album ‘Capsize,’ this Friday, September 21st on Spartan Records.

Check out a new song/lyric video “Tongues” on The Alternative: http://www.getalternative.com/video-premiere-subways-sun-tongues-1/.

Frontman Erick Newbill says, “This song was all about exploring new ideas and musical direction for the band. The opening guitar line idea came as I was driving to the studio to work on something completely different. But we decided to give it a shot, and quickly started layering all these parts and the song came together fast. The single lyric line started out as a placeholder to build from, but ultimately felt like the perfect statement to complement the music.”

The video features real life clips of the band as children.
