MUSIC AND COMEDY GET MARRIED ON TRANSCONTINENTAL TOUR
Pittsburgh, PA – Songwriter Liss Victory and Comedian Krish Mohan are an interracial, cross-genre, mixed media couple. Combining their talents, they create “Transcontinental Variety Shows,” bringing together music and comedy in cities from coast-to-coast of the United States. After three months, they return to their beloved Steel City for the big TransContinental finale for an early show at Hambone’s Pub on Sat. Sept. 8 from 7 – 10 p.m.
They are joined by local darlings: comedy open mic host Derek Minto and original band Sister Sheena and the Shadow Puppets.
“We work together using two different forms of art to share new ideas with people and generate conversation,” says Victory.
Mohan adds, “Humor is a great way to get the audience comfortable with social issues.”
The couple both utilize performance as a vehicle for positive change. Mohan’s stand-up adds his distinct comedic flair to hot-button topics like race, religion, and immigration, sharing his perspective as an immigrant from India.
Victory writes protest songs driven by acoustic guitar rhythms. The lyrics reflect her white, middle-class, middle-American upbringing in the declining economy of the Rust Belt.
Victory & Mohan differ in race, ethnicity, religion, and even citizenship. Yet, they’re still very much in love. And they share the same goal: Change The World.
Join the celebration for $5 online or $10 at the door. Partial proceeds will help fund their wedding in October, which is open to the community.
