WHEN: December 7 at 8PM

The CSA series continues in December with John Petrucelli’s Presence, the crossroads where jazz, classical, and electronic music meet. Presence is a unique musical meditation on place, space, and the human condition. John Petrucelli’s latest compositional endeavor combines three different musical genres into one original performance featuring a jazz quintet, a string quartet, and electronics.

Described by All About Jazz as “a musician with a burning desire to explore,” John Petrucelli is an award-winning saxophonist and composer who has performed alongside internationally renowned artists such as Terence Blanchard, Geri Allen, and Victor Lewis. John received critical acclaim for his debut album The Way. John’s performances present an enthralling amalgam of technique, formal and rhythmic invention.

“Our CSA provides the resources and support emerging artists need to create professional caliber work,” says René Conrad, Executive Director of the New Hazlett Theater. “On the surface, it may seem like a regular subscription series, but underneath it is so much more. A share in the CSA doesn’t just pay for a seat at a show, it directly contributes to the production of amazing new art.”

This year, the New Hazlett Theater CSA Performance Series is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, which has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects across the country.
