The World’s Best American Band came out this month and has been receiving rave reviews. Entertainment Weekly wrote, “True to its title, the record collects the band’s classic rock influences into a half-hour of beer-swilling, riff-fueled nuggets.” NPR caught one of the band’s SXSW shows and said, “It appears that White Reaper wants nothing more than to absolutely rock your face off, and that’s exactly what I witnessed Friday night. Song after song was a driving, shouty anthem perfectly fit for fist-pumping and sing-alongs…White Reaper‘s latest single is called “The World’s Best American Band,” which might seem a little hyperbolic until you’ve seen it live.” UPROXX also just did a great profile on the band which you can check out HERE.
Produced by Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Young Widows), guitarist/vocalist Tony Esposito explains the bold album title and band mantra: “Because we are the best. Just like Muhammad Ali was the greatest, you gotta say it out loud for people to believe it.”
Boasting textured melodies, layered guitars and more seasoned lyrics, The World’s Best American Band finds the quartet busting out of the basement sound established on their previous full length (2015’s critically acclaimed White Reaper Does It Again) and setting their sights on the arena.
Garnished with glimpses of the golden age of rock and roll, TWBAB is loaded with guitars that scream and gigantic drums in lockstep rhythm, each song packing its own massive, but none the less unique, punch.
