Miami-Born Festival to Unveil Mars 2030, a Virtual Reality Experience Powered by FUSION, in Partnership with NASA

MIAMI, FL (September 13, 2016) – III Points Music, Art, & Technology Festival is gearing up for its most dynamic production yet, announcing an exciting partnership with FUSION that will bring to life a never-before-seen virtual reality experience. A multi-platform media network at the forefront of the most cutting edge methods of storytelling, FUSION has chosen Miami-based III Points as the launching pad for the very first unveiling of Mars 2030, a virtual reality production that mirrors the experience of a NASA astronaut’s first expedition to Mars.

“We are thrilled to showcase FUSION’s Mars 2030 at III Points, enabling people to interact with this innovative experience at a festival that has been breaking boundaries since its inception,” said Daniel Eilemberg, Co-President and Chief Content Officer for FUSION. “We have been eager to find a way to work with the III Points team since our launch nearly three years ago, and what better way to collaborate than transporting audiences to another planet.”

From October 7th to 9th, III Points will be home to Mars 2030, a living and breathing installation that will transport festival-goers to another dimension. Backed by extensive research and a Space Act Partnership with NASA, Mars 2030 will provide an accurate, realistic rendition of life as one of the first astronauts to arrive on Mars. Designed by FUSION’S Virtual Reality Developer, Julian Reyes, the multisensory layout transcends physical space, with a 3D rendition of Mars offering an immersive, interactive walkthrough of the habitat.

“We been working for four years to truly merge the three elements of music, art and technology in our festival and this year’s Mars 2030 installation really is our best example of all the three points in perfect synchronicity,” says David Sinopoli, co-founder of III Points.

Echoed by a harmonious musical composition by the London Symphony Orchestra, Mars 2030 will enhance the senses (video). The virtual journey will feature an original soundtrack, Hope, conducted by 8-time Grammy Award winner, Julio Reyes. Committed to inspiring the next generation of explorers, FUSION will also screen its Mars 2030 documentary throughout the entirety of the III Points Festival, providing educational insight of NASA’s mission to Mars.

Through meaningful, strategic collaborations, III Points continues to push the envelope by aligning with innovators such as FUSION. In its fourth year running, III Points’ evolution progresses by building upon the “3 Points” at the heart of the festival experience – music, art and technology. With the unveiling of Mars 2030, III Points will spotlight its technology element in an unprecedented way, offering a launching pad for guests to put on a helmet, blast off, and land on Mars.
