Tom Waters is a Pittsburgh-based artist, activist and blogger, whose namesake blog, www.thomascwaters.com, has won awards for its coverage of LGBT issues. He recently spoke with Los Angeles-based writer and filmmaker Robert Hensley, a Southwestern Pennsylvania native, who is visiting Pittsburgh to participate in Arts Out Loud’s ‘The Lotus’ storytelling event. Hensley was also recently featured in the Herald-Standard’s GO! weekend magazine.
“Today, I had the opportunity to interview Robert Hensley, who will be telling his story as part of an upcoming evening of The Lotus, a program of Arts Out Loud. Robert currently lives in LA, but was born and raised in the Ohiopyle area close to Pittsburgh.
Robert sees telling his story, and the Lotus project as a continuation of the It Gets Better’ effort. Robert hopes his story is both entertaining as well as inspiring, and based on our brief chat, I think it will be both.”
Arts Out Loud’s ‘The Lotus’ will take place on Sunday, July 24 at 6:00 PM at Shadyside’s Undercroft Gallery. It is a free event, although donations are welcome. To reserve seats, please visit Eventbrite.
