“you need to go to an AVAN LAVA concert.” – NPR

“dark, self-pitying, computer-driven R&B in the style of the Weeknd, except sweeter and smarter and way better sung. Album, please.” –Michaelangelo Matos, NY Post

“A rich sound that melds together Prince-style pop flair on one side with a Daft Punk disco edge on the other resulting in some pretty party worthy anthems.” – MTV

If you’ve been looking for an act that blends the R&B of old with the booming trap sound of 2013, your wait is over…a mix of TNGHT with Justin Timberlake.” – Hilly Dilly

New York’s AVAN LAVA just released their single, “So F*kt Up”, an R&B burner about the anguish of potential love after a one-night stand. In celebration of the release, they are sharing Young Diamond’s skittering remix which premiered on Earmilk and their ecstatic take on Mark Ronson’s “Somebody to Love Me”. Listen to the remix here and the cover here.

AVAN LAVA also recently released a moody black and white clip for the single directed by Cody Critcheloe of Ssion. Watch the video here.

“So F*kt Up” follows a series of unforgettable performances, including sold-out headlining shows at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg.  The track has a sleek and seductive pulse, an instantly memorable chorus, and the unexpected twists of their adventurous take on pop music. Heartache has never sounded so addictive!

AVAN LAVA are producer/musicians Le Chev and Ian Pai and singer TC, with the addition of vocalists/musicians Andrew Schneider, Drew Citron, and Jo Lampert for live shows. Together they have crafted a genre-defying sound that is as inviting as it is fearless and unforgettable live shows that take elements from arena pop shows and infuse them with a DIY spirit. Their inimitable sound has inspired iconic designers Nina Ricci, and Dior to use their music in campaigns and shows. Miu Miu recently chose their song “Sisters” to soundtrack their new ad featuring the stars of Blue is the Warmest Color. Watch it here. “So F*kt Up” is the first taste of what is sure to be one of 2014’s most thrilling albums.

“So F*kt Up” is available now at all digital retailers.
