“Hell Hotline (bEEdEEgEE Remix)”

New York’s electro/post-punk up and comers Tempers has just released bEEdEEgEE’s remix of their single “Hell Hotline,” the original of which was released earlier this year. bEEdEEgEE, otherwise known as Brian DeGraw of Gang Gang Dance, chops and collages the previously polished cold wave track that is being released in advance of the duo’s first European tour. Dummy Mag states,  “DeGraw’s take on Hell Hotline retains all the dark ‘n’ moody vocals but buries seemingly everything else, the gothic guitar work being replaced with colourful synths. It’s actually a little reminiscent of some of those fantastic HEALTH remixes..”
Tempers will be playing a few dates alongside Jarboe, the latter of which Tempers’ paid tribute to in their cover of Swans‘ “Killing for Company” this past summer. Please see below for Tempers’ tour schedule, and their cover of “Killing for Company.”
Tempers is a duo comprised of Jasmine Golestaneh and Eddie Cooper. Jasmine, born in Florida, is of Latvian-Iranian descent, and grew up in Paris and London before moving to New York. She has recorded and performed as musician for most of her life and her visual art, primarily collage, has been shown in galleries throughout New York. Eddie is a NYC native who spent years in Berlin, where he released records on electronic labels like !K7 and Eskimo. They started playing as a band in 2012 and began recording songs almost immediately as part of their songwriting process. The unsigned band stepped to the fore earlier in the year with first single “Eyes Wide Wider” backed with “Hell Hotline” — both songs being mixed by Damian Taylor  (Trust, Bjork, The Killers). Tempers is currently working on its debut full length.

“Music so resolutely otherworldly…Dissonant guitars and murky beats bouyed aloft by Golestaneh’s crystalline vocals.” – V Magazine
“The NYC duo incorporates more typical fare of coldwave and shoegaze…Yet they’re still every bit as focused on a patient creep, even if it’s the result of synthetic elements rather than the organic.” – Pitchfork
“Golestaneh’s Latvian-Iranian descent combined with Cooper’s NYC roots and Berlin influences result in the melding of cities and erasure of oceans. What remains are ambient city noises and gritty yet ethereal intonations”  – BULLETT
