Story of the Year, American rock band from St. Louis, Missouri, is celebrating their 10 year anniversary of their first album, Page Avenue, with the release of an acoustic/re-imagining of the record called “Page Avenue: 10 Years and Counting” . Upon first hearing that this album would just be an acoustic re-imagining I was, like a good amount of fans, skeptical to say the least. But upon listening to the original and re-imagined version I can say that I’m delighted by the results, and in my own opinion find the acoustic version of the album to be far better, showing just how far the band has come over ten years. With the impressive remakes of “Sidewalks”, “Until the day I die”, and “Swallow the Knife” this album is bound to be put on repeat for days. The overall quality of the album is impressive and although the songs have all been heard before it’s a completely new experience.
Story of the Year will be touring with Like Moths to Flames, Hawthorne Heights, Capture the Crown, and Jam King on the Scream it Like You Mean It 2013, Page Avenue 10 year anniversary tour. Be sure to check them out when they head to the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio on October 9th. This album is certainly the Story of the Year.
