The PittsburghSchool for the Choral Arts was established as the Oakland Girls Choir in 2005 to provide an opportunity for girls of all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds to experience the joy of singing in community through a comprehensive choral training program. Singers come to the Choir from cities and townships throughout the Greater Pittsburgh region. Choristers are grouped into ensembles by age and skill level, from grades one through 12. Currently The Choral School is made up of four ensembles and one preparation course for girls, designed to educate female choristers in musical literacy, healthy vocal production, choral fundamentals, sight singing, and foreign languages.
The PittsburghSchool for the Choral Arts believes in the power of every voice. We celebrate the unique gift of each person.
