After releasing Illusions Of Grandeur last year to critical acclaim, Sweden’s EVOCATION has now released a new EP, Excised And Anatomised, in North America. Featuring five cover versions of metal classics, Excised And Anatomised can be purchased at iTunes and at CM Distro on black and dark red vinyl (USA exclusive color; limited to 100 copies). All songs on Excised And Anatomised were recorded at the band’s own Evocation Studios with Dan Swanö handling mixing and mastering at Unisound Studios. The cover and layout were once again created by Xaay, who previously worked with EVOCATION on their last two studio albums. The end result not only pays homage to other death metal legends, but also acts as a tribute to the scene that EVOCATION has been part of since the band’s founding in 1991.
