The undisputed Kings of Grind PIG DESTROYER have been inducted in the prestigious Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame.  The band is being inducted for their album Prowler in the Yard that was released in July 2001 via Relapse Records.  Prowler in the Yard will see a deluxe remixed and re-mastered reissue via Relapse in the near future. The Decibel Magazine issue can be purchased HERE.

Decibel editor in chief Albert Mudrian spoke about the band’s inclusion in the Decibel Hall of Fame:

“Two cover appearances, one album of the year nod (for 2007’s Phantom Limb) and one limited-edition live flexi disc for our 100th issue show just wasn’t enough PIG DESTROYER love from Decibel. So we did the right and honorable thing by FINALLY inducting their landmark Prowler in the Yard record into our vaunted Hall of Fame. Now all that’s left to do is to get some of Scott Hull’s DNA to mix into our printer inks.”

Guitarist Scott Hull commented on the honor:

“It’s such an honor to have PITY inducted in Decibel’s HOF.  We aren’t a group of guys to look back on anything that we’ve really done, we usually just keep looking forward.  When Albert got in touch and said that he was going to induct the record, it gave Jr, Brian, and myself a chance to reflect on how much fun we were having back in 2000-2001 wihout any pressure, without any expectation . . .we were just trying to make a kick ass record for no one but ourselves.  Totally DIY, in our basement.  It’s been a long road since then. The success of PITY meant that we could pretty much keep that MO, as we have pretty much done with all our records since then.  I personally want to thank Albert, Kevin Stewart-Panko and the Decibel staff for the recognition and for the thought and care he put into the feature.”
