After years of producing and writing hit songs, and singing his signature hooks for the likes of Shwayze, Mike Posner, Mickey Avalon, Yelawolf, Wiz Khalifa, G. Love, Unwritten Law, and Lil Jon, Cisco Adler dropped his first solo album, Aloha, in late October 2012 on his Malibu-based indie label, Bananabeat Records. The album was produced and engineered by Adler and mixed by Shane Stoner. It followed the July digital-only release of his 6-song summer EP of the same name, featuring songs that blend pop, rock, reggae, and hip-hop with a laid-back summer – and post-summer afterglow – island vibe. The EP was one of iTunes’ Top 10 Pop Albums, and the first single, “You’re A Fool,” featuring G. Love (of G. Love & The Special Sauce), was highlighted as iTunes’ “Free Single of the Week,” which received over 270k downloads. Additional album track highlights include “Boom Boom Boom,” featuring reggae legend Don Carlos and G-Eazy, “California in the Winter,” co-produced by Jim Jonsin (Beyoncé, Kanye West, Lil Wayne), “Tha Good Life,” featuring Mod Sun, Pat Brown and guitar solo by Jeff Wooten, and his next laid-back pop single, “Classic.”
Adler is quite an entrepreneur, creating and spearheading his Bananabeat lifestyle brand and community. Adler’s innovative Bananabeat lifestyle brand combines the efficiencies of a major record label with the intimacy of a boutique artist collective. Bananabeat is a record label that is rewriting the rules of the game. Entertainment marketing and the music business have been a part of the Adler name for generations, and Cisco is poised to take the institution of the traditional record label into an entirely new realm. With a firm understanding of lifestyle and what is ahead, Adler has used this insight to pioneer many categories. Leveraging talent, relationships, and the quintessential California vibe, Bananabeat will be the new model that puts artists, fans and brands in the same room, connecting and building in a genuine way.
I’d love for you to consider covering the show. In addition to everything mentioned above, Cisco recently launched el ganzo (a hotel and musicians retreat in Mexico) and has multiple clothing lines slated to launch this year. Check out a recent interview Cisco did with L.A. radio station KISS-FM’s #weekendmixtape (http://www.kiisfm.com/player/?mid=22774904).
