Two weeks ago, metal buzz-band FIT FOR A KING announced a March 12th release date for their anticipated Solid State Records debut, Creation/Destruction, simultaneously unleashing the crushing track “Warpath” and generating an increasing level of excitement. Proving the first track was no fluke, FFAK are pleased to share another new song, album standout “Hollow King (Sound of the End)” exclusively through Noisecreep.
Listen to “Hollow King (Sound of the End)” now at Noisecreep:
“’Hollow King’ is a very unique track for me, lyrically,” explains vocalist Ryan Kirby. “It’s a story of a person that sees his friend slip into the Devil’s grasp because of the ‘God-free’ view he instilled upon him. The person then decides to go after and save his friend, which he does without faith that God can remedy the situation. During his mission to save his friend, he also falls into the Devil’s clutches. Near the middle of the song, Satan is mocking his lack of faith. The friend in the story ends up actually being himself, hence the lyrics ‘staring face to face and eye to eye with the man who abandoned everything’. This song doesn’t have a happy ending, giving it a dark vibe.”
Recorded with esteemed producer Andreas Magnusson (OH, SLEEPER, HASTE THE DAY, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER), Creation/Destruction is at once the fulfillment of a longtime dream for FIT FOR A KING, and just the first step in what is sure to sure to be an incredible journey for a band with massive potential.
Following several years of relentless DIY touring and a well-received, independently released album (2011’s Descendents), FIT FOR A KING are reaping the benefits of their hard work. The hotly tipped metalcore band has been elbowing its way onto the national scene as a full-time touring outfit, cultivating fans at an alarming clip with a crushingly heavy, artful take on the genre that gives subtle tips of the hat to bands as diverse as THE ACACIA STRAIN, CIRCA SURVIVE and LINKIN PARK.
