rom the dark corners of Austin, Texas, singer/songwriter Nathan Opposition, his brother Michael Jochum (electric guitar) and acoustic guitarist Justin “Ribs” Mason have been annihilating the underground rock scene under the moniker of ANCIENT VVISDOM. On February 5th, the acoustic dark rockers will release their sophomore album Deathlike, a follow-up to their 2011 critically acclaimed debut A Godlike Inferno. The mesmerizing new collection was recorded at Diamond Factory Studios in Austin and once again mixed and mastered by engineer/co-producer Jason Buntz (Jet, The Darkness,…Trail of Dead), along with partner and Enormous Door founder Jack Control. Deathlike is now streaming in full on TERRORIZER.COM.

Honing in on their archaic sound, ANCIENT VVISDOM stays true to their moniker by virtue of Deathlike’s rich acoustic tones and heavy electric guitars, as if chugging through an apocalyptic world. Their only hope lies in Opposition’s vocals – which, combined with the impassioned acoustic instrumentation, leaves listeners at the edge of their seat as they try to comprehend the depth of his haunting lyrics.

ANCIENT VVISDOM has confirmed a two-week tour alongside Royal Thunder, which will directly follow their trek supporting Enslaved on the upcoming “Winter Rites” tour. Additionally, the band will perform intimate acoustic sets at select local record stores along the way, including a recently confirmed appearance at Vacation Vinyl in Los Angeles. Full dates can be found listed below.

The band was last seen in the U.S. supporting GHOST and has also performed alongside Swans, Wino and Scott Kelly, as well as appearing at SXSW with EyeHateGod and Pentagram. The band has also played such prominent overseas festivals as Roadburn and Inferno and has even performed live on BBC Radio 1.
