Founded by Brandon Saller, best known as the drummer/vocalist for Orange County rock band Atreyu, Hell or Highwater is an American rock band from Orange County, California. While Atreyu is on a self-imposed hiatus, Saller is stepping out from behind the drums and picking up the guitar and microphone for an explosive debut album, Begin Again.
Hell or Highwater hit the road for a U.S. tour with The Darkness in January, which kicked off January 10th in Ft. Lauderdale and will wrap up in Aspen, CO on February 2nd.

The combination proved to be an intriguing one, combining what sounds like a very traditional rock n roll band in Hell or Highwater with the ‘glamminess’ of The Darkness. The audience was extremely receptive to the opener, proving Saller has once again created a winning formula for success. The musicianship is clearly there as well as the showmanship, so PMM expects bigger things ahead for Hell or Highwater.

As far as The Darkness goes, they put on one hell of a high energy performance show. As much as many listeners would like to write them off as one hit wonders with the goofy falsetto, they really have some very classic tunes and grooves that gave the audience that throwback feel of a good time party atmosphere. Justin Hawkins, lead singer and rhythm guitar, of course was the centerpiece and did not disappoint.
