Parquet Courts have had a pretty exhausting, yet massively fulfilling, week. After wrapping up their first tour ever, they came home to an eager sold-out hometown crowd at Brooklyn’s Death By Audio. The critics have been (rightfully) fawning, with recent features in The Village Voice, SPIN, and Pitchfork, but what it’s really all about is bringing people together. Some fine folks managed to cobble together live ‘Courts footage from their sweaty homecoming show last Friday, to give everyone a taste of what’s up.
But the show don’t stop there, no sir and/or madam. It’s manifest destiny in the works, friends. The band is now out west, staking its claim on the unseasonably cold cities of California, Oregon, and Washington, and partaking in the tacos of the Pacific Rim. Never have the shivering palms of Cali so longed for the hot punk vibes Parquet Courts will bring along.
