Jeffery Drag Records is excited to announce these awesome new bands they’ve added to the roster:
“Tennessee does a different sort of blues rock, and Bad Cop has taken the southern, hot-amp sound to a place most people wouldn’t take it. Adam Moult entered the elevator of blues rock, ran his fingers up and down all the buttons, threw a Molotov cocktail into the roof, and let the fire rain down on him as he descended into hell. If Jack White ever needs something more evil, he’ll find it somewhere just south of where Bad Cop’s elevator car landed.” — Ear Milk
Bad Cop are releasing a new 7″ featuring two tracks; ‘Chicago Lady’ and ‘Can’t Get Enough’ produced by Lincoln Parrish (Cage The Elephant) at Talkbox Rodeo with the B-side “Mama Said”, produced by Kevin Kilpatrick at Iconoclast Studios.
“These melodies are certainly reminiscent of garage-pop founding fathers like The Kinks and Badfinger, coated in the barroom swagger of classic rock ‘n’ rollers like Faces and the Stones and topped with the ivory-tickling prowess and informal, all-are-welcome-at-the-mic vocal approach of The Band.” — Nashville Scene
Nashville’s newest badass band Promised Land are bringing in 2013 by re-issuing their debut EP “Stoned Eagle” on vinyl this spring with a new 10″ coming out in late 2013/early 2014. Listen to “Stoned Eagle” here!
“Natural Child is the latest in a line of Nashville-based garage rock acts that includes JEFF the Brotherhood and PUJOL, but Natural Child has the distinction of being the sleaziest of the bunch. Their sleaze is an earnest sleaze— blues-rock in the vein of Beggars Banquet-era Rolling Stones, played with the sloppy grit of garage outfits such as the Oblivians.” — Consequence of Sound
Although they aren’t technically a new signing, Jeffery Drag Records are releasing Natural Child’s new 7″ “Woman Problems” in March (just in time for their shows at SXSW).
Jeffery Drag are bringing all of their bands to SXSW in March. This means Useless Eaters, Natural Child, Bad Cop, Promised Land, Western Medication, and Ghost Dance will be playing shows all week!!!!
They’ll also be throwing a huge party with GET BENT for this year’s festival. Details coming soon…
About Jeffery Drag Records:
Jeffery Drag Records was formed in early 2009 by Adam Moult, frontman of Nashville based band Bad Cop. The label was originally founded to release limited pressings of cassettes and vinyl for Bad Cop and other various acts including The Hussy, Pujol, and Little Viking. In 2011, Bad Cop bass player Mike Gicz joined the Jeffery Drag team, overseeing cassette releases from Ranch Ghost, Electric Dollhouse Groovebuggy, and Majestico. The third and final member of Jeffery Drag is R.J. Jennings. The label has grown tremendously, adding Natural Child, Useless Eaters, and Ghost Dance to the roster. Jeffery Drag Records is continuing to grow on a daily basis and has quickly become a name brand for groundbreaking rock and roll music in Nashville and across the country.
