2012 was an exciting year for Flume, as he topped the Australian iTunes charts and played countless festivals in his home country. He recently sold out his first-ever show in the UK, to the point where it had to be moved to a larger venue. But 2012 has nothing on 2013, as the 21-year-old wunderkind producer takes his music worldwide. We’re thrilled to announce that Flume has signed with Mom + Pop and will be releasing his debut self-titled record in the US, Canada, and Mexico on February 19th (Flume is released in Australia via Future Classic.). He’s sharing a stream of album track “Bring You Down feat. George Maple” to whet the appetite, premiered earlier today on The FADER. Also, those attending SXSW will get a chance to see Flume in action as he comes to the US for the first time since his 9 whirlwind shows during CMJ.

At age 13, Sydney’s Flume got his first taste of production by finding a music production program in a cereal box. This discovery began his obsessions with all things synthetic, and started his addiction for plug-ins, sample packs and vintage analogue hardware. Taking a no-holds-barred attitude to music creation, Flume learned to find inspiration in a wide variety of sources and scenes, distilling his sound into a melodic bass heavy style that is uniquely his own. Now, 7 years later, Flume’s soulful blend of lush beats, chopped vocals, saw synths, and intricate percussion is garnering mass amounts of attention.
