Meet BOB & BILL, Composers Behind the Music of the Newest Creation: Amaluna
The Soundtrack to Amaluna and LE BEST OF 2 Compilation are Available Now
Cirque du Soleil® presents two new exciting music releases for fans to enjoy this holiday
season: the soundtrack to Amaluna™, an album featuring music from its newest touring show along with its latest compilation album LE BEST OF 2, comprised of Cirque’s finest music spanning from 2005 to today.
Meet BOB & BILL, the Montreal duo behind the music of Amaluna, the newest Cirque du Soleil creation. The duo explain working with an all-girl band and their desire to deliver something new to give Amaluna a “raw” sound yet to be heard at a Cirque du Soleil show.
The fourteen tracks that comprise the Amaluna soundtrack were all composed by Guy Dubuc and Mark Lassard (aka BOB & BILL) and were recorded in May and the summer months of 2012. The live show features an all woman band performing some of the edgiest music to come out of the Cirque du Soleil camp to date.
Amaluna (currently in Vancouver, BC) will make its US debut in Seattle, WA at King County’s Marymoor Park on January 31, 2013 and runs through February 24, 2013.
LE BEST OF 2 is a must-have collection of favorites for Cirque du Soleil fans and an opportunity for everyone to experience some of Cirque’s finest music from 2005 to today.
The compilation features scores from the Cirque du Soleil Productions Amaluna, KOOZA, ZED, Corteo,
IRIS, A Journey Through the World of Cinema, TOTEM, CRISS ANGEL Believe, ZAIA, OVO, KÀ,
Wintuk and Zumanity. Featured composers on LE BEST OF 2 include: BOB & BILL, Danny Elfman, Simon Carpentier, Berna Ceppas, Violaine Corradi, Jean-François Côté, René Dupéré (“Pageant”), Phillipe Leduc and Eric Serra.
