The album Wilderness has established Nashville’s The Features as one of the most exciting and imaginative bands working today. The singles “How It Starts” and “Another One” have captured the imaginations of music lovers everywhere. By combining elements of indie rock, classic AOR and psychedelia, the band has made their mark with a unique sound.

Speaking of psychedelia, The Features are paying tribute to the trippy visuals of that era with the clip for “How It Starts,” which premiered on Rolling Stone November 21st. “How It Starts” has already been featured in a national Ford Mustang campaign, and for this video, the band members have taken visual cues from classic musical variety shows of the Sixties and Seventies.

The Features’ drummer Rollum Haas told Rolling Stone: “I’m a big fan of those old, live music shows like Beat Club, Old Grey Whistle Test, Midnight Special, etc., and thought it would be good to shoot a video in that style. The Beat Club ones are particularly hilarious and interesting to me because they gave the bands room to stretch out, and the visuals that they chose had no connection to the music being played.”

“How It Starts” is available on The Features’ current album, Wilderness. A new album is being readied for release in 2013.
