On March 22, 2024, the spirited sounds of indie rock filled the air of Pittsburgh as Grouplove, a prominent band from the 2010s indie scene, graced the stage. The night began with an energetic performance by Bully, whose original tracks and captivating cover of Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You” set a lively and warm tone for the evening.
As Grouplove took the stage, the crowd erupted with excitement. Opening their set with the electrifying “Close Your Eyes and Count to 10,” the band immediately had the audience dancing and singing along. Throughout their performance, they flawlessly delivered fan favorites like “Tongue Tied” and “Raspberry,” evoking nostalgic memories for many attendees.



Despite their reputation for upbeat indie rock anthems, Grouplove showcased their versatility by seamlessly transitioning into acoustic renditions, revealing another dimension of their musical prowess. This contrast added depth to their set, demonstrating their ability to captivate audiences with both high-energy tracks and more intimate performances.
One of the highlights of the evening was the infectious energy exuded by band member Daniel Gleason, whose dynamic dance moves and interactions with the crowd further elevated the atmosphere. Lead Vocalists Christian Zucconi and Hannah Hooper didn’t hesitate to immerse themselves in the audience, joining in on the wave of excitement rippling through the venue.
Towards the end of the show, Hannah Hooper delivered a heartfelt speech, urging the audience to embrace their creativity and make art. Her message resonated deeply, emphasizing the power of art to unite communities and inspire individuals to express themselves authentically.






Expressing their gratitude to the Pittsburgh crowd, Christian Zucconi playfully acknowledged the city’s rivalry with Philadelphia, declaring his fondness for Pittsburgh with a touch of humor. This gesture endeared the band even more to the audience, fostering a sense of connection and camaraderie.
