Petrol Girls released their critically acclaimed LP Cut & Stitch last year to love from NPR – who premiered it with a First Listen and noted “These are songs that rip through time, across borders and into psyches with feminist post-hardcore that engages as it rampages” – and The New York Times who called single “Big Mouth” “a paean to speaking up and breaking out.” To accompany the new album, lead-singer Ren Aldridge wrote a book that expands on the idea behind Cut & Stitch and was released via Rough Trade.  Ren previously contributed an essay about sexual violence in the punk community for 404ink’s Nasty Women, and she contributed illustrations to a new documentary titled So, Which Band Does Your Boyfriend Play In of which she was an inspiration for. The band is also in a mini-documentary about using sweat-shop free shirts to print their merch, more HERE. Since releasing the album, Petrol Girls has toured UK/EU with Thrice, Refused, La Dispute, War on Women and more.
