About the Gary Cain Band
In 2018 the GCB were George Thorogood and the Destroyers’ opening band, and shared festival stages with bands including Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Victor Wainwright, and Bob Margolin.
Their debut LP, Twangadelic Bluesophunk, defines a style that has one foot in the blues, and one foot in just about everything else, punctuated by Cain’s soaring, virtuosic guitar.
The band were semi-finalists in at the 2018 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. In 2016 Gary Cain was named the #4 independent blues guitarist in the world at Grammy-winner Lee Ritenour’s Six String Theory competition, the largest one of its kind with entries from 48 countries and judged by guitar greats including Joe Bonamassa, Steve Vai, and Ry Cooder
Blues Matters Magazine calls Gary Cain a “ridiculously talented, genre-bending guitarist…a jaw-dropper”Shane Macauley, (94.9 The Rock FM Toronto) says “Gary Cain is one of the most exciting guitar slingers on the blues scene today.”
Scott Bamton of Rock and Blues Muse says “Twangadelic Bluesophunk is a must-listen.”
