“One of rock’s most commanding and ferociously poised debuts in recent years…” –Pitchfork, 8.7 (Best New Music)
“The band succeeds on the strength of brutal execution and a constant, bright-eyed attention to craft. It has reduced various strands of punk and basic rock to a sound that is ferocious, articulated and as carefully organized as it is crude.” – The New Yorker
“This four-woman English band has rekindled the post-punk of the late 1970s, with music that’s stark and overpowering.” – The New York Times
“The album is stunningly crafted; their influences…are proudly worn on blackened sleeves, but rather than dance around such matters, they dance with them…” – Spin (8/10)
