THE ARISTOCRATS rolled through Pittsburgh August 6, 2013 to promote their new CD Culture Clash which shows off a “panoramic potpourri of influences, while showing up as a more aggressive, intensely-written album that picks up where the band’s first effort left off – all while retaining a quirky Zappa-influenced refusal to take themselves too seriously”. The title of their newest effort derives its name from a sly reference to the Coen Brothers’ film A Serious Man,and doubles as an allusion to the band’s multi-national makeup (Govan is British; Beller is American; Minnemann is German). All of these guys are super laid back and extremely friendly and cool, but don’t let their demeanor fool you. They are serious musicians with some serious chops. Their performance Tuesday night was like a clinic for guitarists, bassists, and drummers…absolutely mind blowing what this trio can achieve and how they weave around one another, almost like they can read one anothers minds. It was truly a beautiful thing. Take a listen to our interview with Bryan and Marco from backstage at The Hard Rock in Pittsburgh:
And check out some of our shots of the band at sound check…
