Since 1999, Ghostly has built an amazing community of artists, designers, musicians, innovators, and uncategorizables. With an ethos of endless invention and a belief in the creative possibilities of collaboration, Ghostly has redefined what it means to be a record label and art company in the 21st century. “We recognized in Ghostly a kindred spirit and an inspiration in all things entrepreneurial,” said Neil Blumenthal, Warby Parker co-founder and co-CEO. “It doesn’t hurt that a hefty portion of Ghostly artists wear sharp glasses.”
To cement the Ghostly-Warby Parker affinity, we put our heads together with Sam Valenti IV, founder of Ghostly, and designed the Curtis, a graphic pair of sunglasses named after Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis.
“Putting on a fresh pair of sunglasses transforms your mood as fundamentally as putting on a song you love,” Sam said. “It’s a natural collaboration.”
Pretty sure you’ll be seeing quite a few of the Pittsburgh Music Magazine staff sporting these at shows and clubs throughout the summer…
