On Saturday, June 22 2013, Motorpsychos will unveil the video for “Binks”, a single taken from the band’s latest album, 2012’s Sheppard’s File.  Innervenus Music will be hosting a unique extravaganza to celebrate the video release that evening, at Belvedere’s Ultra-Dive (4016 Butler Street, Pittsburgh PA) — which, in addition to a headlining appearance by Motorpsychos, will also feature support from an eclectic cast of characters, including synth/darkwave/goth/metal act Agnes Wired for Sound, the organic tripadelia of Flora Fauna, and stoner riff metal wizards Dope Lake, PLUS extra special performances in between bands by the local burlesque troupe Kabarett Vulgare!

  • With more than 10 years under their leather belts, and the same personnel for most of it, Motorpsychos show no signs of slowing or toning down their pummeling punk-metal attack.

Aggressive.  Powerful.  Haunting.  The fuel-injected, female-fronted Motorpsychos combine pounding metal riffs, dark-spirited punk, and melodic choruses as they continue to spread their supersonic breed of rock to the psycho nation.
With their high-octane punk metal hybrid and iron-clad work ethic that could only come from the City of Steel, theMotorpsychos have shared the bill with Disturbed, Kittie, Nashville Pussy, Ten Years, Ill Nino, Death By Stereo, Harlow, The Shocker, Broadzilla, Jucifer, Bottom, and other like-minded aggressors.  Winners of multiple “Best Band” titles (including 2012 Pittsburgh Rock Music Awards for “Best Metal Band” and “Best Metal Album” [forSheppard’s File]!), the Motorpsychos have appeared on the Vans Warped TourX-Fest, and the Zippo Hot Tour.

  • Their 4th album, Sheppard’s File, released in the spring of 2012, will grip the back of your neck and force you through damp city alleys, led confidently by the band that knows exactly where it’s been and where it’s going.  It’s a wild ride along the edge of insanity’s abyss — dotted with disturbing melodic junctures and shrewdly crafted escape routes that will send you exploding through the walls with engines revving, wheels screaming, and a war cry that puts hell to shame.

On Tuesday, June 11 2013, In Spite of Everything, the brand new full-length album by Submachine will be hitting the streets — co-released via The Innervenus Music Collective (CD) and Cobra Cabana Records (vinyl).

  • From the dawn of the ’90s and the economically fucked end of the first George Bush era came western Pennsylvania’sSubmachine.  They thumbed their collective nose to the rules of fashion, herd mentality, and common niceties with music that punches the guts and heart, and lyrics regarding self-loathing, hopelessness, loss and angst.  It screamed, “Get the fuck out of the way, man!”

The band worked like a machine pushed far beyond design specifications, on the verge of mechanical heart attach through the ’90s and early 2000s, playing relentlessly both locally and on the road, while producing numerous vinyl releases, broken bones, and unimaginable memories for all who bore witness to the orchestrated train wreck.  To the dismay of many rabid fans, the party came to a halt early in the new millennium; the gears were stripped.  Members fractured off into other bands: Short Dark Strangers, Plastered Bastards, Kicker, and Caustic Christ.
It’s been said that “the sun don’t shine on the same dog’s ass every day.”  Get your sunglasses out.  Submachine have grown tired of the occasional get-together, and have regrouped, gotten back into the rehearsal room to remember the seemingly endless list of classic songs, and word has it, have written some new stuff that promises to blow a new hot breath of rage up all of our lethargic asses.  Better get your game on, Submachine is back.
