Miesha & The Spanks release “Please Don’t Blow,” the first preview of Girls, Like Wolves

Miesha & The Spanks has released their new single, “Please Don’t Blow. The song is the first preview of the band’s forthcoming album, Girls, Like Wolves, which is out Tuesday, August 20 on Saved By Vinyl. Starting with pounding drums, “Please Don’t Blow” is a blistering intro to the band’s new sound.
Girls, Like Wolves was recorded live off the floor in a cabin on the lower lake of Kananaskis, AB, powered by the diesel of a boisterous CBC truck-made-studio by Josh Gwilliam of Pilot Audio, Miesha & The Spanks’ long-time friend and engineer. Reunited days before the mountain drive, the sweat of Louie and her drummer Stuart Bota’s chemistry is felt on each track, hammered out with weight and urgency. Canadian rock legend, Ian Blurton, was flown to the remote location to oversee the operation and man-handle arrangements, song after song. The group spent six nights warmed by wood-fires, sponge-bathing in saunas, eating chili, drinking gin, and recording…everything. Gentle waves on rocky shores, the wind rubbing against the old wood of the cabin, the fire consuming and crackling, wild girls howling into the black night from the cold shore, every primal sound was a part of this recording.
Girls, Like Wolves follows the success of Gods Of Love (charting at #40 nationally for 2011 after spending three months on national campus and community charts), and brings Miesha & The Spanks back into the fold, showcasing at such festivals as Halifax Pop Explosion, Canadian Music Week, NXNE, and Sled Island, while gearing up for some extensive touring.
Over the last five years, Miesha & The Spanks constant hard work has earned them support to some Canadian heavy-hitters such as The Dudes, Pack AD, Death From Above 1979, Bison BC, Chixdiggit, C’mon, Shotgun Jimmie, Hot Hot Heat, as well as Queens Of The Stone Age, Hot Snakes, Mini Mansions, and Hunx & His Punx.
